QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) I agree especially when it comes to 56 million. I blame them both

White Sox vs. Twins, Game 2 of DH, 7/06/07 (L)
klaus kinski replied to santo=dorf's topic in 2007 Season in Review
I sat thru both games there yesterday. The place was full of Twins fans in the first game. Fortunatly they were not the ignorant creatures Cub, Yankee and Red Sox fans are. They enjoyed pasting us-but never chortled about it. It was an embarrassment being there-they just hit everything-and not one Twins player was HBP or moved off the plate. This regime has given up. -
Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal
klaus kinski replied to redandwhite's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Williams, You got to ask yourself is being a jerk about the NTC worth getting little or nothing in return? -
Well maybe a roster move is needed by Friday-so Thursday something may happen

Javier takes a lot of crap on this board-but he's pretty reliable with some good stuff

No Wave?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) The fact that it is season holders is exactly what I am talking about. People are buying tickets, seasons particularly. But there have been increasing # of no shows-at least in our area. they are likely non renewers next year

I just dont get where Williams track record grants him this kind of slack to basically be a jerk . I honestly believe that we will not be in another World Series as long as he is GM.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:29 AM) Since when have we actually tried to acquire prime time free agents? Especially since most are Boras clients

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) Bad luck is a broken leg because of a foul ball, or a hit by a pitch. Scott has strained every muscle than we use on a day to day basis. He is made of glass. He strained his eye reading this post

The manager said he thought Owens should get the call up because of his lead off experience. Get the net, PLEASE

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Jenks has still been incredibly effective this year even without the good gas. To state otherwise is just plain wrong. I agree but he has a history of not being good in the second of back to back games -
Yes if Stall & BS have same meanings in the world of Ken Williams

[quote name='whitesoxfan101' date='Jul 1, 2007 -> 07:05 PM' post='1 For all the love Buehrle is getting here for his bounceback year, Jon Garland is actually slightly better in ERA (3.15 to 3.33), has a similar record at 6-5 to Mark's 5-4, and similar WHIP at 1.16 to Mark's 1.10. And unlike Mark, Jon is coming off an 18 win season. One day he'll get the credit he deserves among Sox fans. Yeah when William$ gets rid of both of them

QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:38 PM) yeah krause and williams never won anything Krause never won without that ONE PLAYER-he had nothing to do with acquiring Williams won a world champiionship-but quickly reverted to form & dismantled it
-
Well they didnt have to give 5 years-so they found another way out of paying. These guys are slime. No one can defend this. Williams is an arrogant puppet I never want to hear him say "build a championship" again. Better yet, I dont want to see or hear him again. This is Reinsdorf retirement fund economics at its best

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) I know. It's his own fault. I hope they get rid of this guy ASAP. I really don't like Dye's attitude since he got injured. It was that darn McDonalds commercial
-
I really hate giving up Gooch. We have no infielders coming up to take his place and the FA second basemen next year are not nearly as good

What a boo boo walking Konerko Nice win

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) The Sox aren't a lock to draw 35,000+ a game when they suck, like the Red Sox and Cubs. Nor do they own their own TV network, like the Yankees and Mets. Being located in a major market doesn't ensure top-tier spending ability. Then dont suck

Everyone makes it sound like the money comes out of OUR pockets to keep a popular productive pitcher. Its the money of a team owned by a bunch of rich men who act like they are down to their last dime. 30,000 plus per game-mucho TV $-everything in the park spponsored. Profit Profit Profit THis is another wake up call for me-one of many throughout the Reinsdorf years-from which we have ONE world series appearance. We have been good many times, but except for once ALWAYS come up short. Its not like the way they do it has a proven record of working. Arent any of you sick of this in a big city? We are letting go baseballs prize commodity-a durable productive left handed pitcher. And keeping him would be better on the field than trading for more prospects the KEN WILLIAMS farm system will never develop. This is a kick to all of us below the belt. And this time they screwed with our heads too.
-
Well their game of camoflage worked on me. I am more upset about getting fooled by them AGAIN and hoping we could keep a good pitcher and fun guy around. I should have remembered that the ownership is still the same.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) Mr. Reinsdorf is a business man. And if we go from 50+ sellouts to a sea of empty seats in two years, I don't he will endorse KW any longer. The Bulls still sold some tickets during the dry years. The Cell will be empty is dry years are coming. Reinsdorf will not have the team thru another drought-like his basketball team went thru similarly. He's old and the past few years have paid for the retirement fund. When he goes KW goes.
