Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) Yes he does. What about his .217 average away from Charlotte inspires you with optimism? I'd like to have seen him get as many AB as Owens has had
-
Possible 3-way deal?
We sit in RF and he looked as confident as he had in the first month defensivly. His offense has returned and he is going to have a big last 2 months, somewhere.

Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee
QUOTE(phillychuck @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) Additionally, most of the posters here seem to think Iguchi is a very bad defensive 2B. Why is that? Defensive UZR (ultimate zone rating, available through tangotiger's awesome web site) has him at +8 runs per 150 games, close to Utley's +13, which is gold-glove level. Link to UZR article which has a link to all UZR ratings: http://www.insidethebook.com/ee/index.php/...le/updated_uzr/ He is NOT a bad defensive 2B-makes the plays-some spectacular-and we were second in AL in turning double plays at the time of the trade. IMO-he was steady and never a liability on the field.

My picture below sums up the thanks a lot of us have to Tadahito for his major contributions to our Championship

Lofton to Indians

White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/26/07 (W)
We just are better with Pods playing-Cut and Dried
-
No trades ? Predictions ?
A trade will happen-may go to last minute, but it will. The motive will be to unload $ to afford what they gave Mark Buehrle-not to make improvements. Garland & Dye will go-

Mariners Scouting Sox Starters
With the crash of Contreras, I am convinced Garland will be the one to go to the highest bidder. Then we will DL Contreras and hope he comes back better next year at age 62
-
White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/25/07 (L)
Actually he may fare a bit better against weak NL hitting teams-there's our sales pitch
-
White Sox vs. Tigers, 7/25/07 (L)
At this point you showcase Contreras by putting him on DL retroactive to before the last 2 appearances

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Holy cow...I don't know who's worse, Contreras or Floyd. These pitches are pathetic, and I'm so sick of watching Toby call pitches. Floyd sucks for much less $that breaks the tie
-
Colon to DL-How about the Angels
Contreras, your flight to LA is boarding
-
Colon to DL-How about the Angels
If I were Kenny, I might be on the phone right now-Second DL for Colon this year
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Thome's hustle and going against the shift in an unselfish manner while he chases 500 HR has won me over.
-
Gavin Floyd?
Just a thought, but has Toby Hall called both his starts?
-
Dye for Murton?
Help them if it helps us. They appear to have players ready to be major leagers. Its funny-Dusty Baker's lack of desire to play young players is paying off for Piniella-as their players were not rushed so more veterans could play. Thats why I'd take a look at Murton too

Does Owens stink?
He stole a base today on that great carpetbagger Ivan Rodriguez
-
Duane Shaffer Fires on KW
Early returns on Fields, though are pretty darn Good. A big attaboy for who drafted him
-
Does Owens stink?
There's a spot on my roster for him-just not playing every day
-
Todays Roster Moves
Maybe today we can avoid getting the bases loaded-by us.
-
Duane Shaffer Fires on KW
An undistinguished list to be sure. I wonder how many Boras clients got passed on that are doing decent in other systems? Just curious.
-
Yankees looking at Garland, Thornton?
We got a championship with Garland here and need to move him before his value is reduced playing on a bad team-of course he gets moved if we can get ML talent in return
-
Duane Shaffer Fires on KW
He has an opinion that must be respected. He's been there, worked with, and for those in question. The bloom is off Williams, folks. Do something good for the team, if you can. Or admit you have to rebuild.
