  1. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 25, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) SI had this nugget, Here we go again! 4. Ken Griffey Jr. to the White Sox Griffey hasn't shown any willingness to go to New York when the opportunity has arisen. But maybe Chicago's more to his liking. It's a nice city with a nice team that still should have a chance, something that has eluded the Reds regularly. It's finally time to thrown in the towel on the great Griffey trade to his hometown team, an annual albatross for the also-running Reds. The White Sox have been hurt by the injury to Jim Thome and could use the left-handed power Griffey provides. Griffey (eight homers, 26 RBIs, .297) is having a fine year. But he'd be much better off having the DH option, which could limit his own well-known propensity for pain. What a stupid report.

  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 24, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) Maggs Ordonez is on fire. 4 for 4 today. He's hitting .361 with 12 hr and 45 rbi. He also has 23 doubles already. Did his hair get caught in the toaster?
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) Nah, that was Ozzie I swear though, I know someone got plunked by Tracey on accident, Tracey apologized to him personally and then that person shoved him down. I think it was Dukes. Dukes is a punk. Like I've said and keep repeating: someone needs to welcome him to Chicago tomorrow.
  7. Isn't he the guy who shoved Sean Tracey down? I really hope someone from our team cracks him with a fastball. Like Freddy with Young last year, except more deserved.
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) Runs scored correlates to runs scored at a coefficient of 1.00. How can OPS be "more predictive"?
  9. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 23, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) There is not a single fairweather fan on this site. Why do you say that? Because you've got to be dedicated to post on a message board for your team? (I'm not disagreeing. Just curious if that's your reason.)
  10. And threaten to kill a person here and there. Too bad Sweaty Freddy isn't still here to drill him.
  11. Dye's won a Gold Glove out there. He knows what he's doing. He's lost speed and looks terrible running nowadays but he's still a better fielder than Maggs
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 23, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) I still want his lift and pull ass fired. Winner!
  13. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ May 23, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) I agree 100% with this. I still recall Bagwell's first at bat against him in that world series game. Bagwell and the whole stadium knew the heat was coming and he cinched it up for it. However, he still had no chance and after his whiffs he seemed to be staring straight through the camera at a place a million miles away. I don't see the same result should they meet up again. SFF Bagwell was so hurt by then. People can catch up to fastballs. You need another pitch too.
  14. I'll be there early on Saturday. Maybe around ten.
  15. Baseball season's over. Now I can fully focus on this arduous game. I'm so excited. I'm very excited.
  16. If he's genuinely hitting 97, I'd give him a serious, serious look.
  17. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) Just noticed that Lincecum drew Oswalt for the second consecutive start. Talk about some rotten luck. FOR OSWALT BWAHAHAHA
  18. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Uhh...you're already arguing it. You're missing knightni's point. Sure, they might occasionally get it right. It's the other way around. They occasionally get it wrong.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) That's as pissed as Big Jim gets. Goddamn, I missed it. What happened?
  20. QUOTE(knightni @ May 21, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) The Palmiero story is true. Nobody said it isn't. All I said, with regard to it, I'm not going to sit here arguing with you over whether or not Gold Gloves mean a damn thing. I think they do and that's it from my end.
  21. Chavez is better; Rowand's overrated (and Hunter's better); Uribe has been gipped, as has Everett. Adam Everett. All the same, the system has flaws like any democratic system but it definitely isn't the sham you're making it out to be.
  22. Except they're voted on by the players and coaches. But what the f*** do they know?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Contreras + angry = kind of amusing... ...as long as he's not mad at me
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2007 -> 05:54 PM) Yeah, I'm shocked that got cancelled. I watched it weekly, even though I first turned in hoping it would be a reality show about my favorite wrestler. BREAK DOWN THE WALLS OF JERICHO! Y2J is my favorite "funny" promo man. (Difference there being: Bobby the Brain versus Mick Foley, Y2J versus Bret Hart.) That was one of the first things I read just checking this thread. Jericho: - "On top of that, everybody's talking about facing you at WrestleMania as if it's some kind of a foregone conclusion that you're gonna beat me this Sunday - as if I'm some kind of a fluke champion, or a transitional champion, but they can all go to hell if they think that! And all of you can go to hell if you think that! But most importantly, Rock, you can go to hell, too. Because there's something a lot more painful than any beating you can get, Rock, and that is the truth - because the truth hurts! The truth hurts, Rock, and the truth is you had the chance to become the Undisputed champ last month at Vengeance, but you failed! You were beaten by me! And you wanna talk about facing the Undertaker or Steve Austin at WrestleMania - you can face anybody you want at WrestleMania, but it won't be for this Championship! Because this championship is not yours, Rock, this championship is mine - it's mine - it's all mine - it's all mine - and the truth is that Chris Jericho is the most overlooked champion in WWF history! But you know what else is the truth, Rock? At WrestleMania, I will still be the champion - because this is my championship - this is my championship, dammit, and this is my show, and this is my--" Rock: - "Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa! Let the Rock clarify something to you, Undisputed Champion or not, this is not your show ... this is SmackDown!, this is The Rock's show! And what you're failing to realise is everybody is talking about WrestleMania, facing the Rock, for one reason: because they know, them in the back, they know, the guys in the back, they know, them, the millions ... and millions of the Rock's fans, they know that the Rock ... is better than you. You see the guys in the back know it, everybody around the world knows it, you know it - and you see, Chris Jericho, the truth, it does hurt - it really, really hurts - but not as much as the Rock is going to hurt you this Sunday at Royal Rumble. If you smell--" Jericho: - "No! No, No, No, No, No! This is not a joke! I am not a joke! I am serious! And you will not look past me, you stupid son of a b****!" (One of my favorite promos.) -- Good hit Dye. Let's get him and many more in!
