Now that the Cowboys are out, the only teams I'd really hate to see win it all are Colts and Jets.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) What do you mean "not really". Wes Welker is a perfect example of a freak injury that could happen to anyone regardless if he is touched or not(And now Brady has 3 broken ribs), proving that sometimes safety on the side of caution works. The Patriots werent playing for any more seeding. they clinched their division and had no shot at a higher seed. It doesn't show the Colts were smart because the Colts always let their starters play a series or two. I think everyone does, unless the player is actually injured going into the game. What happened to Welker was unfortunate but not inconsistent with what other teams -- including the Colts -- do. This particular injury is not in any way, shape or form vindication for Indianapolis' decision about 16-0. They're entirely separate issues.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) And Wes Welker gives the argument about why the coaches that do that are right. Not really. Also: only one team has won the Super Bowl after losing the last two games of the regular season. And that was in 1967.

What the Colts did last week was one of the most gutless things I've ever seen in professional sports. And Angry Sideline Peyton Manning would tell you the same thing.

By the way Critic... this has clearly been in the works since, at least, when Piper hosted Raw, when McMahon said he only had one more match left in him and it'd have to be someone special. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Failed terrorist attack in Detroit
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 27, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) Based on press reports, it sounds like the guy did everything right, the problem seems to have been that the explosive wasn't mixed/prepared correctly and thus became more of an incendiary. And anyway, Nigeria does plenty of things right. Unless you don't like filling up your car's gas tank. I love you. Right, as often.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) If that was Vince's plan, he certainly could have negotiated Bret's return to coincide with the DVD release in 2005, or as part of the Hall of Fame induction in 2006, or the negotiations for Bret's images for his book in 2008.... Yes, Vince has been interested in having Bret come back all along, but the length of this contract, and the start date, and the momentum the talks appear to had gained since the announcement of Hogan's TNA deal, all point suspiciously towards coinciding with Hogan's arrival in TNA, regardless of the mysterious teasings earlier. Hell, you could point to the Hart Dynasty signings as precursors to a Bret deal if you wanted to. Let's agree to disagree, and also, go read the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) Honestly, I don't think that's it. I think this is a short-term thing to counteract Hogan. The idea of a Hart showdown with Michaels, McMahon, HHH or all of the above will draw the same people who'd give a damn about Hogan arriving at TNA. 4 months is a perfect time frame to build something up, pay it off (or not), and not have it get stale. Hogan's shelf life before he sends viewers running away is MAYBE a month. Well then my friend, you're wrong. It's well-documented that Vince has been trying to get Bret in for years. Hell, it's obvious they've been building to this, teasing this, in storylines for months. News stories broke about how the Screwjob at Breaking Point was motivated, in part, by giving WWE an easy tie-in for Bret Hart later. Long before TNA announced its stunt.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) Pratt, you'll have a blast interviewing the CLJ department if you haven't already. Due to budget cuts expected to take effect in 2011, they're letting go of several well liked administrative employees. There's also a whole host of other concerns that I'm sure someone would be willing to explain in detail. We've run two stories on it. Believe me, Mr. Tizzle, I'm on the job.
