  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:22 PM) How many last second game-winning drives could Alex Smith have possibly led this season? Also, take it easy, this is where the animosity comes in... you act like the 49ers are some indestructible force and anyone who thought the Saints would possibly win is an idiot. Congratulations, the 49ers won. They didn't look particularly good in doing so, but they beat the Saints. They did it! Wooooo! He's had 4 game winning late 4Q drives this year, 5 including Saturday...... Nice avatar...... Haters gonna hate
  2. There may be a few of you on here that weren't so confident, but most all Bears fans I know, when they win 3 games they are the best team every and are going to the superbowl...... I did forget most of us here on this board are pessimistic when it comes to our sports teams, so I apologize for classifying those here with "most" fans...
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) I don't run into too many super confident Bears fans. We normally expect something to go wrong. It was 2006, btw, not 2005, when the Bears went to the Super Bowl. That year, and last year (when the Packers were injured/a wild card team due to so many injuries) did not contain a teams as impressive as this year's Packers and Saints. Both of those teams shot themselves in the foot this weekend. The Saints game, in particular, was something to behold, as absolutely everything went wrong and they were an improbable Alex Smith TD drive from winning. Now that those two teams are out, I'd say it's absolutely anyone's game. I wouldn't have given the Bears much of a shot in 2006 against teams like that either. My bad on that date...... Yep, they both shot themselves in the foot.......neither one of em got beat. Did everything go wrong when they scored those 32 points? Was it really improbably considering Alex has done it many times this year? Niners have had a 2-4 plus TO ratios per game all year, and it happens again but it's NO shooting themselves in the foot.......hilarious.
  4. This is what gets me the most............The niners have won with essentially the exact formula that took the Bears to the Superbowl in 2005 and NFC Championship last year.........yet, most Bears fans haven't given the Niners a chance with anything.....I really am surprised how Bears fans of all people can't see how the formula the 49ers have had can in fact win you games and take you to a Superbowl. I'm also pretty sure when the Bears were doing well in '05 and last year, most people had the attitude that the Bears could easily win it all.......
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 08:01 AM) Then don't be so defensive about them. Every post about the Niners you and Obama come running to their rescue with some sorry defense for why they are the greatest team ever, which is why so many people were rubbed the wrong way coming into last week's games. I'm pretty sure neither one of us ever said they were the greatest team ever, I even said they would lose to GB in the playoffs. There's a difference in being defensive and simply offering opinions. The 49er hate in Chicago is evident, I don't know why it's there but it is, not just on here but most people I know can't stand them. I'm pretty sure Obama and I aren't the reason people hate the Niners. And if you do, that's stupid cause all we have done is support our team, let's not forget how obnoxious Bears fans get when they are winning.....
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Well, one of my good friends is a huge Niner fan, and his text to me immediately following the game was "I can't believe Alex led them down the field for that last TD!" I don't think anyone isn't happy for you guys, but the fact is you guys are still going to be doubted until you win the Super Bowl. You played in a god-awful division, and you play a fairly dull style of play in the year of the arena league offenses...so you've been undecovered, underhyped, and the public isn't in love with you like it has been the Saints/Packers/Patriots. And now you've got people lining up who want to see Tom Brady - Eli Manning II, so most people don't want you to win this week either. Of course they are going to continue to be doubted, and that's fine with me and I'm pretty sure it's fine with the players. As a Sox fan, I'm used to it and don't see anything wrong with it. As a fan, it isn't about all that nonsense you pointed out, it's about your team winning, that simple. And although you might think people want to see Eli, according to polls about 65% of America thinks it will be the Niners in the Superbowl............usually people vote on what they want to see.
  7. Alex had 4 game winning drives this year, so seeing it Saturday twice wasn't that surprising to those that follow the team. Yes, I'm sure we all were somewhat surprised, but again my first thought in that situation Saturday was how this isn't new to him...
  8. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Congrats!! I couldn't believe Alex Smith won the game for us.. That made it 10x better, I felt so good for that kid all he's been through.
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Congrats. Thanks Mex! Now I need GB to win so I can go next week, I'd rather face NY at home but damn I would love to go to see SF in the NFC Champ game.
  10. I repeat, Who's got it better than us? NOBODY!!!!!!
  11. SOXOBAMA needs to post some pics from the game! Go Niners!
  12. Dear Steve9347, Thank you for writing me about the Bears, I'm in New England this week, I'll get back to you when I can. Lord
  13. Hey SOXOBAMA...........Who's got it better than us?????????/
  14. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) I have been a huge fan of SF and what they have done this year, and I would like them against most other teams in the NFL. However, the problem will come if the Saints manage to build a 2 TD lead at any point in the game, which they are quite capable of, the Niners will be in real trouble no matter how early it happens. I think that's fairly obvious.......however I think the idea would be that with their defense, they won't end up in that position. On the flip side, with the 49ers D, if they Saints get down 2 TD's they might be screwed.
  15. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) We should have never lost those 2 games.. If we won those, I believe we would be the #1 seed right now. Cowboys and Cards are much better teams than Rams/Bucs And those losses essentially come down to 2 specific defensive lapses...........that close to being 15-1
  16. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) I will be at the game this weekend :-) That is going to be a great game to be at, the place is going to be crazy considering the playoff drought over the years. Hey, not sure if you already know about this, but check out this site www.49erswebzone.com Great stuff! Reminds me a lot of this board.
  17. Whoa, as the only other 49er fan on the board, how did I miss all of this? I'm nervous, but I like SOXOBAMA's confidence. I tend to think this is that classic playoff game where the "unstopable offense" sure enough gets beat. It happens almost every year in the playoffs..... My biggest stat, NO never winning on the road.......don't think that will come to an end this Saturday I hope the Niners and Packers win cause I will get a chance to go up to GB and see a great game.....
  18. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:50 PM) Most NFL fans are idiots. I'd rather the 49ers knock off our biggest rivals, and if it were the Bears and 49ers in the NFC champ game, I bet Packer fans qould root against us, I've no problem with that Amen to that, starting to like you Mex
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:42 PM) Most Bears fans are also idiots. But not the ones on this board, so I don't understand why we're firing shots because people said they don't believe the 49ers could be the Packers. The Packers are really good. That's not an indictment of the 49ers. The fact of the matter is we won't really know until the game happens, if both teams make it that far. I wouldn't say asking who is next to blame when the Bears continue to suck is "firing a shot", it's a legitimate question IMO
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) This is the most childish fight I've ever seen on this board. I really don't know why you guys are fighting as our teams don't play in the same division and no real rivalry. Both teams are historically great, Bears floundered this year and the the 49ers excel. Bears have been better over the past decade, but haven't been a model franchise. Both suck at drafting QBs like most of the NFL. Now can it stop? My beef isn't with the Bear either. It's with the fans who jump down peoples throats with Superbowl chants when their team is on a two game winning streak......you give a little heat back and boom! The Niners have had a great year, but as I've said before on here I know they won't end up winning what matters most..a ring.......That statement right there isn't something 90% of Bears fans would be able to make when their team is heading to the playoffs.
  21. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Alex is a free agent at the end of this season. He had a great season this year and won us some huge games. Harbaugh has a lot of faith in him He recently said he wants him back next year as well. If anyone has watched him the last 5 years, and watched him this year, they will note that he was a completely differen't QB this year. He's making strides, I'd like to have him back as well
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:15 PM) LOL, that poster is definition of Packer Homerism, he is not a Bears fan whatsoever. Oops, forgot about that one! Rodgers would look so much better is a Niner uni......
