  1. Been taking a lot of heat lately, not so much because I'm a 49er fan, but more so for the bragging......... Anyways, thought it would be interesting to hear how people ended up fans of certain teams...for me it get's asked all the time seeing as how I grew up in Chicago. When I was young, I hung out with my two cousins all they time, they were my best friends. At the time, one was a 49ers fan and another a Broncos fan. I hung out more with the 49ers fan so whenever I watched football it was the Niners so they quickly became my favorite and essentally the only team I'd ever seen play...sadly my father wasn't around much so I never really knew much about the Bears..... Anyways, the funny thing was my Uncle (father of these two cousins) was a die hard Packers fan. So when the 49ers and Broncos started to suck, they both became Packers fans....for me, I couldn't do it, the same feeling the Bulls, White Sox bring is the same feeling that only SF can bring to this guy.... Anyhoot, that's how I ended up a 49ers fan, now how did you end up a fan of an out of market team?
  2. I was thinking he just threw the tickets out there to see how many people would say Niners would lose with something on the line, rather than just saying they would lose to piss him off........but I know that no Niner fan would be that shady! 49ers 24 (Smith) Giants 20 Ravens 23 (Rice) Patriots 21 HeGone's tip of the day - Alex Smith has covered the spread 17 of the last 18 homes games!
  3. Guys, I need some advice on Cowley....I don't know how many times I've wanted to shoot a tweet begging his cancer to come back, but I always stop.......I know I could just not follow, but I enjoy getting my shots in.... I'm just tired of him getting away with bringing this Sox stuff up over and over and over again....
  4. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) My top 5 athletes 1 Ali Alex Smith 2 Payton 3 Jordan 4 Montana 5 Rice
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/fantasy-roto...KLH1mymKPy5bZ8u Wasn't this yesterdays news? I also heard on B&B on the way home last night that despite the Bulls saying this, the injury is in fact on the top of the toe, which IS NOT turf toe. Bernsie was talking about all the confustion........
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) You don't need any advanced statistic to know that Richard Hamilton was the "weak link" defensively on those Pistons teams. You can cover guys up with the right system/scheme. We've seen that plenty in just the last four years. It still doesn't mean x player can guard y player. This. It doesn't matter who the Bulls have guarding Wade because their team defense relies much on their system/schemes. Who do we know that covers Lebron as well as Deng has? Yet as well as he has, Lebron still does whatever he wants for the most part.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) He also got more money in Phoenix than the Bulls could have paid him. Another reason he doesn't regret his decision Money > Winning
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:07 AM) There's also a medical staff thing going on in Phoenix that no other team in the NBA seems able to match. No doubt about their abilities but I'm not buying it as the reason he stayed
  9. 4 months, it was of great financial benefit for me to move in with her that quick.
  10. Grant Hill's decision to stay in PHX had to have been knowing that they would continue to be bad and the Bulls would be good again.......there was no reason to think anything else. He's like Kerry Wood, rather be in a low pressure situation than a chance at winning a championship.
  11. It will be interesting to see his production levels outisde of a Mike Martz offensive system. Also, he's had his first serious injury and will he be more prone to them moving forward?
  12. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) http://youtu.be/55CzJt6nBJo Chills! Is it Sunday yet?
  13. Jed York @JedYork Contrats to Trent (Executive of the Year) and Jim (Coach of the year)! The entire #NinerFaithful are blessed by your leadership. Can't find any confirmation on that but I would assume if Jed's saying it, it's official.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) QBs don't grow on trees, so I guess you just have to hope he doesn't demand too much because he was able to manage games this year. He's in a perfect situation, and shouldn't wish to leave. Yea I think he sticks around...... It sure is nice having a guy around whom most consider a game manger, but can be as clutch as Alex.... I was thinking State Farm could do a "Discount Double Clutch" commercial since he had not one but two clutch drives on Saturday.....
  15. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) At this point I think they have to resign him, and I dont see him wanting to go anywhere else considering Harbaugh resurrected his career and believed in him when basically nobody else did. It's been mentioned by many how unreal it was for Alex to resign this past year considering all he's been through. I don't think it was that difficult a choice considering all he could have been elsewhere is a 2nd or 3rd stringer.......
  16. What does everyone think about the 49ers resigning Alex Smith? While I'm elated he has been performing well, his contract price keeps getting higher now? I'd say you have to sign him to a Kevin Kolb type contract, and hope he continues to develop into an elite NFL Quarterback.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) You're baiting Bears fans and rubbing in the 49ers success like you're the Patriots. Stop it. So you're saying we only post about SF? That wasn't a knock on SF?
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) Ok, seriously, this has to stop. NOW. The 2 49ers fans ruffling feathers, you know who you are and you've been warned. That's quite enough. No one heard you say a damn thing the past 10 years. Are you saying that we only post on this site about the 49ers? Or are you taking a shot at us because the 49ers haven't been much to talk about for 10 years? Not being sarcastic, I'm really not sure why you said that?
  19. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) great post If these two Niner fans get crap from outside Bears meathead fans, they shouldn't take it out on us. I didn't know it was an insult to pick the Saints over the 49ers... For me personally, the "I wonder who the Bears fans will blame when they continue to suck under the new GM" statement riled me up...hey Niners fans, you guys are hosting the NFC Championship game, one win away from the SuperBowl, just like we were one year ago. BTW, a cousin of mine is a huge 49ers from way back so if you guys do pull it off, at least I'll be happy for him. This was a great line, after all the rips against SF this year, I have zero regrets about ripping on the Bears Have they found a GM yet?
  20. I will say this, I've been the one jabbing, etc. Obama just tells it how it is and some people can't handle that......
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:11 PM) It was more supposed to come off as disbelief with a hint of ridicule. Or perhaps it comes off as smarta@@ Yet Obama n I are the ones bringing animosity...
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) Wow, that's an amazing performance. No animosity in that statement..
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) And now, during a realistic discussion, I am now called a hater. You are absolutely owning up to that which you are telling us you are not. At least you didn't bother busting out a gif on me. My bad, that wasn't directed at you it's meant in a general sense. People's hate for any team or fanbase will always overshadow their football analysis of that team
