  1. If the Bears would have had Jay Cutler yesterday, they would have won.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) I just watched that Barber fumble. If he doesn't fumble, he would have had a huge run. Possible even a TD run which would have sealed a win, but no, instead he fumbles and there goes the Bears season.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) Congrats. The whole f***ing world can see the Packers are 13-0 and haven't lost a game in a calendar year, and they are the reigning Super Bowl Champions. And after next week, the Green Bay Packers will not have lost a game in a fiscal year either, large in part because of the QB play of Aaron Rodgers.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) It is in his title Gotcha, it sure is
  5. I just looked at @jrich23, and there ins't a tweet that says Orlando Bound.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) I'd be rather pleased with Nick Young... I don't see him leaving Washington. I think we'll wind up seeing Butler play SG for the Bulls. Or, in cream dream world, the Bulls are talking to Butler forseeing an open SF spot on their roster because of Dwight, but Orlando would be nuts to trade Dwight prior to the season. Looks like Butler met with the Clippers last night, and is meeting again with them today. Hate to say it but after living in Chicago my whole life, and recently being out in the LA area, it's a no brainer for me with that weather out there. I also tend to assume most guys don't really care much about winning these days......
  7. Forte has also been in a Martz system which utilizes a RB as a receiver more than any other system in football........
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:39 AM) Bears fans who think Forte is better than Gore must be homers, damn the stats, so according to HeGone33, Packer fans who say Rodgers is the best QB right now must be homer fans too. Yea, damn those 56 more rushing yards he has than Gore!
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 05:13 PM) HeGone33, you're just being weird. If we use career stats (which say yay Forte) that's no good. If we use seasonal stats (which say yay Forte) that's no good. So basically, you just like Gore but have no reasoning other than eye test. Durability is something where career comes in play. Where are these career stats? Only career stat is yards per catch, which I'm not saying Gore is the better receiver. I've had 3 people warn me I won't win vs. the Homers here, I can see why......you people probably haven't even watched Gore in a game since they played CHI in 2009
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) Well you can't deny that a player's abilities influence how a team's using him. I think it's pretty clear that Forte is a better receiver than Gore. Not gonna argue that one......but they are RB's
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) A lot of NFL RBs are really interchangeable. That being said, Gore and Forte are not. I'll take the guy who stays healthy - Forte. Forte - 16/16/16/10 = 100% of games Gore - 14/16/15/14/14/11/10 = 84% of games Okay, here is another reference to a career, not today. Forte has 1,391 total yards this season, Gore has 962. We've already been over this one, Gore cannot control how many throws come his way. Totally different offense over the last 4 years. For God sake until this year the 49ers couldn't complete passes to anyone. Forte comprises 40% of his team's total offense, Gore comprises 29%. The Bears are/were a better passing team than the 49ers this season, yet Forte is still shining. Again, based on offensive scheme. Forte hasn't really shined the last few weeks, neither has Gore but I didn't say he is. Gore is also 28. In two years he falls off a cliff. Forte is 25. No brainer there as well. Whatever age someone is two years from today does not make them better or worse today. It's really not even close. It really is. Gore could run for 150 yards on 15 carries on Thursday while Forte could run 10 carries 38 yards Sunday. Then all the stats favor Gore again.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) You are talking about career. Right now, Gore is not better than Forte. Why, because he has 56 more rushing yards in 3 less attempts? Or because he is a Chicago Bear?
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Gore has more TD's? May as well argue that wins are the most important pitching stat. Forte has less TDs because the Bears let Barber vulture them. What Forte can control is yards per carry and yards per catch, which are both better than Gore. Gore is solid, Forte is just better today. My point in saying he had more TD's was that is as dumb as saying Forte is better because he has 56 more yards rushing. And as for the yards per catch, is Gore supposed to control how often they throw his way? Forte isn't a better RB today........
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) I don't give a crap about careers, I care about who is better now. If we had Brett Favre as our QB would his 20 year career matter, no, what he did for me this year would matter in terms of who is better now. If two players were equal I might put more weight on previous seasons as potential evidence of who you might be able to expect to continue at a certain pace. Since Forte has joined the league he's 3rd in yards from scrimmage behind Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson. The guy had one not so good season and it was when he played the full-season with a partially torn hamstring. In no world is Gore better than Forte at this stage in their careers. And this isn't a knock on Gore. Oh, if Cutler stays healthy, he will probably set every record in the Bears books, doesn't make him better than Aaron Rodgers (who, most likely, will not set every Packer QB passing record). You say you don't care about careers just now, but then your whole 2nd paragraph is about careers, points in careers, etc. Forte has 56 more yards than Gore. Gore had 5 straight games with 100+ yards rushing Gore has more rushing TDs this year. By your own arguement, these two players this year are extremely close and therfore you would look at previous years, well again, look at Gore's career. Let's not forget Gore didn't do a damn thing in his first few years, so he's pretty much done all this in 5 years.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) Wait what, Gore is not better than Forte. Forte has better yards per carry, yards per catch and beats Gore in total yards from scrimmage. Gore is about to become the 49ers all time leading rusher behind names like Craig, Watters, Hearst and Perry... When Forte has the career Gore has, I'll hear you out... And going by your logic, Philip Rivers is better than Cutler.........
  16. Even if Rodgers did get hurt now and out for six weeks, I don't see why the Pack still wouldn't have the #1 seed
  17. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I think people overestimate Flynn's ability. It's not terribly difficult to look good in garbage time or in the preseason. Unless Flynn has made just incredible strides in the NFL, he'll never be starter material. I watched this guy plenty at LSU and he was simply an average QB. I didn't think the game vs. NE last year in NE was garbage time or preseason.......he was very impressive.
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) I think the Bears should bring back Todd Collins. That would be cool. I'll bet Matt Flynn could get the job done for em.........
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) Not really sure what stats you're looking at...the ones I'm looking at show the Bears having a slight edge in just about everything, except rushing yards, and even in that, we have the same ypa, the Niners just have more attempts due to that defense of theirs. The Niners have also done it against a weaker schedule, IMO, than the Bears have. Good catch, not sure what I was looking at either.....
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) I disagree with you that the Niners are playing better offensively than the Bears. The SF defense has been better, which is giving their offense more opportunities, but I don't think they are better than the Bears offense. The numbers are exteremely close for both teams with the niners having a slight edge in scoring, I'm going by the eye test. It's obovious Cutler > Smith, but I'd take Gore Davis Edwards Crabtree Walker all over any of the bears....
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) As if they are the same team. Give me a break. Football teams evolve and the Bears have evolved and have been playing a very high level of football. No Shi8$ they've evolved, I'm not saying they haven't. But how about the Saints? They've evolved too. Sorry, a playoff game in round 1 down in NO might not be the lock everyone seems to think it is......
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) gmab, you are going out of your way to try and get people to argue with you that the 49ers are the second best team in the league. i dont see anyone questioning that Well, when someone says the Bears or the Saints are the only teams that could take the Pack down, that would imply those teams were 2nd best.
  23. Wow, life long White Sox fan here. Have loved this site since 2004, thought people here were more knowledgeable and accepting of opinions. Maybe I should have realized that just because the Bears have won a few games, they are better than a team they couldn't beat earlier this year. There's no argumentt at all in that statement. Next time, I'll just take the guys word for it. I still love how I'm a troll in an NFL thread, that's the best one....
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) ok, thats enough trolling. we know the 9ers are good, but you arent doing anything but trying to start a fight now This is the NFL thread right? Where does it say Bears thread? I watch all Bear games and 49er games so why can't I have an opinion? My opinion unlike most isn't really that bias. You aren't going to hear my say the 49ers will beat the Pack, or go to the superbowl.....I'm a realist...but when you say the Bears are playing as good as anyone, I'm sorry, I beg to differ
  25. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) The line is significantly better. Not to mention the reason we lost that game wasn't just the line, it was our safeties. We gave up 2 huge plays in that game and if we don't give them up (which in a typical cover 2 you don't), we are in that game. The Bears are better than the Saints (with Cutler healthy). Well, Cutler was healthy when they played em earlier this year and they lost.......so that's a pretty weak arguement. The Lions offense came back to life yesterday, so they are better than the Bears now? Silly logic...
