QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) OR people like you will realize what kind of talent he really is and start saying stuff like "where was that change up all of last year?" Brandon is going to be very good next year, book it. I agree McCarthy is going to be very good next year. Why the Haeger hate? Chuck is a winner, and if by some chance he is in the rotation next year i think he will post a league average ERA and keep his team in the game, and alleviate the BP. and if in the BP i think he will excell. -
nice work bobby, nice work garcia keep raising that trade value.
-
suck it twins.
-
Bobby.... loads the bases.
-
Lets go Matt.
-
from Paul Sullivan
-
Sweeney is in
-
Dye making it look easy. Anyone want to take a stab at whos going to win a GG for RF this year in the AL?
-
what do we do with this Garcia quandary? i'm still all for dealing him, would you offer to see who would sign first MB or Freddy? and then deal the one that doesn't sign along with jose?
-
you suck scott podsednik, im glad i only have to watch 2 more games of your lack of hustle, and thank you for costing JD a RBI douche bag.
-
no one is turning on mark, or at least im not. I'm saying if we can't lock him up long term he needs to be traded for the better of the white sox.
-
I agree with Flash and Kalapse, if MB can't be extended we can't let him walk for nothing seeing how draft pick compensation might not be part of the cba. I'd deal MB to the cards for Reyes + Wainwright / Bryan Anderson©

yup nothing at all, except showing flashes of dominace both this year and last year including AAA @ age 22 SO 130 in 119.1IP while only walking 32. -
thats a shame, oh well looks like ESPN will have to focus on other teams in the NL. Go Blue or Go Home!

QUOTE(GaelicSoxFan @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) My personal feeling is when they traded El Duque for Vazquez in spring training, they never intended for Vazquez to pitch one inning this year in a Sox uni. I think they acquired him with the intention of finding someone stupid enough to take on his fat contract and making B-Mac the 5th starter. im not going to lie, your logic sux. -
i wouldn't hes in the last year of his contract. I assume it would take a pitching prospect that would be ready by mid '07 and a top posistion prospect to get him So Broadway + Fields/Sweeney. Would you do that deal?

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) Abreu is signed thru next year. Damon thru 2009 Matsui thru 2009. I'm just saying, if we gave them pitching...and maybe an OF prospect or Brian Anderson...yah never know. WoW, Andersons glove = 1337 Sauce. yes Melky is younger but still no dice. maybe deal someone like Cotts or something of that nature if Marte could bring us Mackowiak & Lopez could bring us Riske maybe Cotts could brin g us melky.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) no The Rangers need SP, and Hicks has recently atleast tried to throw Michael Young under the bus. You give them Contreras, I guarantee they are offering Young plus a reliever, and KW would be dumb as hell to take that. I agree, 2 or 3 of the rangers SP are leaving via FA this offseason and they need someone to be that 1-2 punch with millwoord. They're still high on Arias and Juan has upside and a .3mil buy out in '08 if he sucks in '07 they're not left holding the bag and if he doesnt they can deal him for something.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) The hole with that last post is that the 0-3 outs might have been where they wanted him to go more innings, he just couldnt get anyone out. I agree but as he states "This isn't perfectly scientific", i just threw it out there for a matter of discussion. if someone wanted to take the time and go by every game log and see which cases were 0-3 in a close and late sitiuation, or a situation with men on base, i'd be really intrestead to see what comes about.

QUOTE(VAfan @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) As I said in my Soriano thread, if we have to drop a $10 million contract of a starter to add him, it would probably be worth the trade off, unless Soriano gets ridiculous in his contract demands. In that case, sign Matthews and keep the starter. (Can you pick the starter that needs to go? Contreras was our best starter early. Garland was our most consistent starter for the longest stretch. Garcia has had better starts down the stretch than any of the others. Vazquez, though a head case, is actually a great pitcher through 5 innings. Buehrle has been the most consistent over the longest stretch.) GMJ = Tom Goodwin circa 1998 with less SB and more HR, no thank you let some other team bite, hes 32. Soriano is an offense weapon but he gets CS 41% of the time and is on pace to SO 167 times this year, hes 30 and hes going to cost a ton and is going to want a good amount of years. If Furcal got 3 / 39 i expect alot more for Soriano. Our lead off hitter is going to have to come from SS or LF from SS i would love to see Michael Young or Jimmy Rollins and for LF i wouldn't mind Crisp or an inhouse opition if the lead off hitter comes from LF i wouldn't be against keep juan, but for the love of god get Mr. Hriniak back working with uribe, that foot tap last season was huge. As for our SP deal one potentially two of them to land the peices for '07 and restock our farm next year. Does anyone know how the '07 draft is looking?
