  1. The Last 14 Batters Charlie has faced none of them have reached base, and he has struck out 7. It seems he can handle the BP, and hopefully will make a great addition to the white sox for years to come. Im still not against him being in the rotation next year along with McCarthy and dealing two of our starters. Oh and congrats to your first ML Save you already have as many as Scott Protor in 7 less atempts.
  2. I'm looking forward to seeing Chuck a lot these next 4 games. Like i said when his pitch is on its filthy, and from hearing Coop's words its encouraging that he might be with the white sox for the future.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) So, you are saying that scoring runs is the more important factor for a lead-off hitter? More important that OBP? Ok, lets check out how correct you are about how good rollins is. How about listing the top 10 players in the MLB in runs last year? Sounds like a plan 1.G Sizemore 132 2. C utley 128 3. J ROLLINS 124 4. C Beltran 121 5. J Reyes 120 6. A Soriano 118 7. H Ramirez 115 8 D Jeter 114 9. A Pujols 114 10. J Damon 113 yeah, he sucks. thanks for the insight OBP isn't the Alpha and Omega when judging a leadoff hitter in my eyes. Someone like Rollins who can hit for power and steal at a very sucessful rate help negate his so so OBP.
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) Thank you for showing the horrible contract. Why exactly does this team need more home runs? I rather have a guy who gets on base much allowing him to score more runs on other player's home runs. No Problem i don't cherry pick We don't need more home runs but i can live with the fact he has a maso menos OBP if he is going to knock himself in 20-25times a year, plus Rollins is fast and a smart baserunner he can score from first on a gapper and he plays solid D at SS. Here is hoping the Phillies fall out of contention and let the dodgers take the WC and move Rollins this offseason.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) .....and it's not worth giving up players/prospects and absorbing a fat contract (think $35 million) for it. That's a s***ty OBP for a leadoff man too. I can live with Rollins s***ty OBP when hes going to knock himself in 20-25 times a year and steal bases at a sucessful rate(36SB/4CS) and play good defense at SS, add to the fact that he is going to have MLB best 3-5 hitters behind him and hes going to see a steady diet of fastballs. and hes only 27 Jimmy Rollins ss 5 years/$40M (2006-2010), plus $8.5M 2011 club option * signed extension 6/05 * $5M signing bonus * 06:$4M, 07:$7M, 08:$7M, 09:$7.5M, 10:$7.5M, 11:$8.5M ($2M buyout) * 1 year/$3.85M (2005), plus incentives o $0.175M in incentives (including $75,000 All-Star bonus) o avoided arbitration 1/05 * 1 year/$2.425M (2004), avoided arbitration 1/04 * 1 year/$0.45M (2003), re-signed 3/03 * 1 year/$0.365M (2002) * drafted 1996 (2-46) * agent: Dan Lozano * ML service: 5.015
  6. I was at the game, my man love for Haeger only grows.
  7. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) That's a transformation Karen Carpenter would have been proud of. Yeah, I went there.
  8. lets go matt. i want to see that filthy breaking pitch he featured in la. that was definatly not it.
  9. so wait this is a 3 run game, and we want to bring in Hermanson......
  10. steal second get all your firsts out of the way. uribe showing the palms.
  11. wooo more BB than SO, good start to a ML career.
  12. I wouldn't say kicking our ass, our team has underachied all season, when we hit we didn't pitch and when we pitched we didn't hit. A team with Liriano + Radke is a better team. Pie in the sky? come on be realistic they will regress, thats not pie in the sky thats years of historical data. True Dye + Thome will most likely not be as good, and yes Crede is having a break out year at 28 but it looks like he has finally turned the corner, and the fact that Konerko has both Jim Thome and JD infront of him added to that, what we will most likely loose form JD and Thome, will be sustained(hopefully) by our 1-8-9 hitters. Our pitching doesn't "suck" as of late they've been amazing and threw the course of the second half Javy & Garland have been amazing. MB is having a career worst year, Garica has obviously lost some mph that might come back, Jose is old and a injury risk, but lest we forget the begining of the season when he was on before his injury? and McCarthy has been misused all season and hasn't had a feel for his change or curve, i think next season he can give us league avg ERA, with the possiblity of much more. I am our pitching staff as a hole is having a career worst year, and even though our offense from certain members might not produce at the same level i would think a new SS and LF would contribue more than our current players have.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) put pods in CF...dont you think he couldve adjusted the easiest? or perhaps let one of the minor league prospects? what is the difference between BA and a prospect anyway? not much. wow
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Pure Spec. Liriano will be back by Spring. Will he stay healthy? That is a different story. Im mearly stating what i heard(on behalf of ESPN), but will say this as fact; he throws his slider 45% of the time and his mechancis are horse s***, if he can't sustain health all season & radke is out, i expect them to strugle.
  15. thats the latest i had heard from ESPN, when he went down, on Mike & Mike.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Im sorry, what? Hes most likely heading under the knife for TJ.
  17. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) As far as next year is concerned, we're actually in a terrible position in comparison to the Tigers and Twins. How do you figure? Liriano is out all next season, radke is done. Detroits pitching will regress just like ours did this year maybe not nearly as much as we did but there will be regression couple that with the fact that they strike out way to much and thats not a good sign. We will be dealing for a posisiton of strength this offseason and LF should come for our farm, SS and the BP needs to be addressed other than that. I don't see alot that needs to be addressed with this team.
