  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Does Sale have a prayer at the Cy Young award? We discussed this a few pages back. Consensus was: hell no to this year, but definitely in the future. I think he'll finish 4th in the voting.
  2. There we go! Rios back to .300! And woot, post #7000!
  3. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) i dont think it should be verlander, i dont think hes having the best year but a lot of people still have him winning it. king felix actually has very similar stats to verlanders Verlander is tops in ERA+ and has WHIP just over 1.000. He's got to be considered.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) Sale may win one down he road.......not this year. Yeah, I agree. He's going to finish with quite a few less IP than the other 3.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) Shutouts from here on out. Weaver blowing up a few times. Sale's ERA+ is nearly 20 points higher than Weaver's, but yeah. I figure the top 4 are Verlander, Price, Sale, and Weaver, but not necessarily in that order.
  6. So, what do you guys think it would take for Sale to win the Cy Young? Also, anyone know the last White Sox pitcher to win one?
  7. 1 or 2 more hits for AJP and Rios, and we've got 4 .300+ hitters in our lineup.
  8. I f***ing love Chris Sale. Please have my babies.
  9. Hell of a bounce-back by Liriano here (so far). Good to see he can recover from a s***ty inning. Keep it up, and get us through 6!
  10. QUOTE (SouthSidePride05 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) If the game was a sellout, would you pay the $42? For the upperdeck? Not a mother f***ing chance.
  11. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:17 PM) EFF THE SHIFT Heh, I was playing softball on Saturday and the other team actually did a right-handed shift.. three guys to the left of second base. I promptly jumped in the left-handed batters box, and while the 2B was running back to the right side, I swung and missed (horribly). Then I switched back and he ran to his original spot.. make them work for it I say.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) $42.00 for regular season upperdeck seat = NEVER No one with a brain should pay that. It's unbelievable.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) I dont know what you guys are arguing actually. You admit the Sox are out to make money, yet refuse to accept that the Sox are taking actions they believe will make them the most money. Outrageous prices? I went for under $30 per ticket on labor day weekend with a group of friends (lower deck box). Ive spent over $30 on cab rides in a night. Chicago is expensive, thats not going to change. We are specifically talking about the Yankees games.
  14. QUOTE (SouthSidePride05 @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) It's not about the marketing team. It's the Sox fans. This is embarrassing. Two first place teams, White Sox in first by 2 games and Yankees are the best in the AL, and we're in late August. Any other year in the past these games would be sold out or close to sold out. It's not the pricing, it's not the economy, it's Sox fans not showing up this season. I'm watching the YES telecast, and the broadcasters are talking about how startling all these empty seats are as they pan the camera around the empty stadium. I really don't think our fanbase deserves a postseason appearance this year. It's a shame. Really embarrassing and depressing. False, false, false, false, false. Just so false. It is 100% directly related to the f***ing outrageous prices.
  15. UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH I hate wasting golden opportunities against the Yankees.
  16. There was a time when I was happy with the Liriano pickup.. that time is not now. (I realize we gave up nothing for him, but still)
  17. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) but there the lawyer argued that the cofee cup was defective. What could a lawyer argue if their client JUMPS in a fountain? The only thing defective there was the dudes brain the guard rail wasnt high enough to keep him out; the water was too inviting; he was served too many beers etc.
