We officially have the best "on paper only" bullpen in the league. These guys constantly put the team in danger of losing late. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:42 PM) Thanks Jenks. Is it bad that our closer's ERA, almost 60% through the season, is 4.24? Yeah, kinda. -

Nix = Terrible at-bat. The best thing you can say about it is that it wasn't a DP. Yay, Nixer. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) If Wise gets caught stealing, this board will explode. And Brian Anderson will laugh. In Charlotte, of course. -

QUOTE (nastymasty21 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) CQ looks awful Pretty much guessing up there, although the suck-ass strike zone didn't help. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) Plus and I thought he was completely out of position. Since I rarely understand where he's lined up, I won't even comment any more about whether he's in or out of position. I think most of this positioning is done to cover up his inability to move to his right, but who knows . . . -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) Wow. Game over probably. This could be a huge loss. You can't do this before you have a rookie make his debut. With the way our starters make their debuts, you can chalk up two losses in a row. I think Ozzie was saving the pen in the 7th and 8th, thinking about Torres tomorrow. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Guess I'm the only one that thinks Zobrist ball shoulda been a DP. Not sure where the hell Lexi was. Not moving his feet side-to-side, again. Dude gets less out of his supposed range than I even thought was possible. He makes Cabrera look like Mark Belanger out there. -

Per usual, Dye can't get himself lined up to throw. Per usual, Pods can't get down a sacrifice. Ah, fundamentals . . . -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) Nice f***ing bunt Pods. Yes, Pods really is in 2005 form -- can't put down a sacrifice at all. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Nix or Toby Hall Toby Hall?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) BA can't be sent down with Ozzie saying Quentin will be replaced for defensive reasons. I have a feeling it will be Fields that is sent down. And we'll see Wise getting time behind Konerko at first. LOL.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) I honestly wish Wise hadn’t hit that homerun. This will only due the team harm, if it convinces Ozzie that Wise is getting “on track“ We're now going on nearly 4 years without a major league-caliber starting center fielder. But I am confident that one of these days -- and maybe even before 2017 -- Kenny Williams will aggressively fill that spot. (Provided that, you know, "the market" will make that possible.)
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) Quite simply, he's just awful right now. His stuff blows, and he has no control at all. Is it just me, or does Poreda not finish his delivery? It seems like his arm is way behind his body.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 08:41 AM) It was Torres' turn in the rotation, he just piggy backed Colon's start. Heard Don Cooper say this morning that Colon is on the right rest to pitch in the DH on July 24th. But he also said that some others in the organization were, too. Given that Torres followed Colon last night, I'd think that Carlos is also in the picture to possibly start in the DH.

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:49 PM) You know this kinda gut wrenching loss if it turns out to be that way is the ugliest way to drain a team and deflate the sails real quick. I really hate to say it but with the character we saw in the first 2 months Ozzie has gotta be real careful now with the guys. We just flat out beat ourselves today. Floyd pitched ok but after about the 4th inning he seemed listless and ran out of gas. The defense made a couple of good plays but yeah back to the main point Alexei is killin us with that lame half hearted effort on D. Best thing to day was Slayer´s continued growth with the bat. He may crack .300 real soon (Even on the next homestand). Hope we bounce back tomorrow, real ugly game today. Team looked entitled (fat-headed) for a bunch of the game -- on the bases, Alexi, Gavin. Just bounce back tomorrow. Oh, and Ozzie, too, for putting Thome on the bench. Cuz that was dumb.
