  1. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) Up and in. That's the one to be worried about. Or down and away. Either way.
  2. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) We knew wed see that swing Up and in. That's the one to be worried about.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) Well it wasn't a great catch but it was inches from being a slam and I was excited. Pods would not have made that catch last year. It's a new year. And a new Pods. Except for the caught stealings, strikeouts and bad approach at the plate. I'm optimistic.
  4. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Yahoo says Cintron catching????????????Is that right? He's catching Pods Fever, baby!
  5. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) LOL, Tinker Bell sucks. Never has a White Sox player who hit a game-winning home run in the World Series been so despised. And never has one so deserved it. Viva la Pods!
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) I agree with the bunt call, Iguchi HAS to get that down After awhile, when you talk all day about being a team good at fundamentals, and you're not, you're Dusty Baker.
  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:04 PM) That was the right call. If we'd had a batter up there who can bunt. I can't remember the last time Iguchi bunted it on the ground. This looks identical to last year. Wow.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) I could care less if we go 0-2. It's just disappointing to see Spring Training carry over into the regular season with this pitching. The LF/CF situation is going to be a joke all season. Two years in a row this team was not ready when the bell rang. That's the manager.
  9. I'm sure he'll be fine (maybe), but I've been saying all along: counting on Thornton to be great this year is as silly as counting on Politte to be great last year. Really good arm -- and a very limited track record.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) Exactly...I honestly have no clue what he was thinking this offseason. Terrified of "the market" for pitching. Smarter than everyone participating in that market. We shall see.
  11. QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:05 PM) Home plate umpire is Larry Vanover. And Vanover emerges from his crouch to call a man out on strikes. Swinging, of course. That must have taken quite a bit of effort on his part. Kudos to Larry.
  12. Looks like Larry Vanover is still in Spring Training. Truly silly "strike zone."
  13. I think we've found the 6'10" Neal Cotts. Without the b****in' 2005 performance.
  14. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) Are these pitches even close?????? f*** Andy Sisco he should be pitching for Charolette tomorrow. Got screwed on one call to Nixon. Everything else is not close.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) The sad thing is, he actually got a pretty good jump. He's just slow. That's what it looked like. Very little acceleration.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Who bats 2nd then? I like Iguchi down in the order, and Anderson hasnt proven he can hit yet. Id leave thigs as they are for now. If anything maybe KW can pull off a deal for a LF/CF who can actually hit Just like he did in the off-season.
  17. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) Stone will raise Singleton's game. Stone has had to work with others who have required "patience". I like Farmer, but I did not like the way he would hang Chris out to dry last year. They did sound better in the spring. Eventually, I think Singleton will be fine. DJ and Stone would be a nice combo when Hawk decides to retire. "You see, D.J., only mere mortals ever retire. Mickey Mantle never retired. He's still playing, actually. So, rest assured, my heinie is going to be right here for the next 150 years."
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) This DBack pitcher has an ERA over 10.00 and has allowed 20 hits in less than 9 innings. I bet KW has his eye on him. Good arm angle!
  19. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) Not good. We're not better for this. That is, unless the team becomes so incredibly inspired from the loss that everyone has career seasons. I think that this is the most likely scenario. Toby Hall was the most inspiring figure in all of baseball, and someday we'll all look back and see that his torn labrum was the catalyst for the White Sox in 2007. So let me be the first to say: Thanks, Toby Hall's labrum!
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) The thing about all the young guys we traded for is that only Danks has a legitimate chance to be anything more than a 4th starter in his career. Coop . . . will . . . f-i-
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) I can't imagine that KW is satisfied with the bullpen the way it is right now. I'm still trying to find out how we managed to not upgrade at either offense, defense, starting or relief pitching this offseason. But we have a lot of AA pitchers locked up for 2009. And Floyd's arm angle has never looked better!
  22. I'm with Kenny Williams. I think you guys are all overlooking how great Floyd's arm angle is. I mean, he has a nasty arm angle. I predict that Floyd will be the 5th starter, go 1 and 7 with a 6.52 era, but lead the league in arm angle. And that's why we got great value for Garcia.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) This sounds similiar to Rossindo Gloadriguez that used to be on our team. Grindero Grindoguez.
