  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) McCain's illegitimate black baby smear in 2000 primary True, but I believe that was a phone push-poll. Not anything GWB himself was throwing at McCain in debates and in every stump speech.
  2. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) However it could be accurate. So all the standard polls with established methods and a long history are off by 10+ points, but the new experimental poll is accurate? In that poll, Trump's numbers didn't change after the video came out. Surely, no matter how much you like Trump, there's no way you could think that it wouldn't significantly affect his numbers.
  3. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) Except the LA Times which has him as a 2 point favorite That's an experimental poll that samples the same people over and over again and has weighed heavily toward Trump the entire time. It's not in line with any other poll. He's getting KILLED right now. +11, +5, +9, +11, +7, +5
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) An argument that campaigns were much more civil (compared to today) It's a good argument if you're just talking about the past few elections though. There was definitely dirt in them (eg Swiftboating), but nothing like 2016.
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) And as far as Trump's comments, it's not like he was serious when he was saying he'd grab them by the p****. Girls like Trump for his incredible wealth. It's not rocket science. He's cocky and insensitive but he's just saying, he can do whatever he wants because the women want to be with him (because of his money). Why wouldn't we think he was serious? Who falsely brags about sexual assault? Trump already admitted on Howard Stern that he would barge into the dressing rooms of Miss USA contestants to see them naked. This isn't a guy who gives a s*** about what women want. They're sexual objects. He does whatever he wants and knows he has enough power/money to get away with it.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 05:42 PM) Some people act like Republicans are the scum of the earth. No, people act like a PORTION of Republicans are scummy, and unfortunately, that portion is currently dominating that party. {Conservatives (Republicans [Trump supporters {Deplorables} ] ) } We'd all like to see the Republican party nominate someone with intelligence and integrity, even if we don't share all the same political ideals.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) They are on CNN blaming rap music for the downfall of "American Values." no joke. Donald Trump listens to so much rap. You wouldn't even believe it.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) How successful, if at all, does anyone think Trump/Breitbart/Alt-right will be at splitting the GOP and doing lasting damage? Almost no success at splitting the GOP. Significant "success" at doing damage with women, minorities, independents for ~10 years.
  9. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 02:38 PM) It helps offset the costs of raising a child, but in no way does $1k make it 'profitable' to have a kid. It certainly isn't a disincentive.
  10. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) Palin is less excusable from an RNC perspective since she was chosen, not voted in. And it's the RNC's fault for not talking legitimate candidates into run in the primaries. Look at the s*** list of candidates that threw their name in. Who were you looking for? I'm not an expert in the GOP lineup so I don't know the non-household names, but it seems like they covered their bases pretty well. Well-Established Establishment (Bush, Kasich, Christie) Establishment Up-and-Comers (Rubio, Walker, Jindal) Tea Party Star (Cruz) The Libertarian (Paul) Religious Right bros (Huck, Santorum) Randoms (Trump, Carson, Fiorina)
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) Does Trump not realize his supporters brigade the s*** out of these awful polls? I have to know...who the hell are the 7% of people on Breitbart who thought Hillary won the debate? Breitbart is basically Trump headquarters. Trolls trolling the trolls
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) Sen. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III (R-Lost Cause) is very confused on what consititutes sexual assault. Donald Trump is an amateur gynecologist and he's trying to assess cervixes. How is that sexual assault? These women should be grateful for Donald looking out for their health.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) Realistically this is where Trump has blown the entire campaign. Instead of actually making the election about policy, and Clinton's history on those policies, it has become a personal referendum on Trump. ...he doesn't know anything about policies.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) But the fact that he LEGALLY used the US tax code to avoid paying personal income tax shouldn't be used again him. There's a good chance that it wasn't all legal, especially with some of the shady stuff like diverting money owed to him over to his charity. But even if that is true, it doesn't exist in a vacuum. Trump complained about half of Americans not paying income taxes, latching onto the view that they're moochers, while he was one of those people. Trump complained about Obama not paying high enough income taxes, while he paid zero. Trump complained, while pandering to the middle class, that hedge fund managers pay too low a rate, while he paid zero.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Oct 10, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) It's sort of bewildering that Hilary keep focusing on it - its almost like she doesn't get it. She focuses on it because it looks really bad. The GOP (+ Trump) tax mantra is that the rich need huge tax cuts because they're paying through the nose to support the 47% of deadbeat moochers who don't pay any. Donald Trump not paying any income taxes cuts right into that message.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 08:59 PM) Trump camp's response is, uh, Bill Clinton said worse on the golf course! Call Sean Hannity, he was there too!
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) I don't remember if it was their NowCast which is intentionally overreactive to new polls or if it was their polls-plus model, but one of them did have Trump at 55% to win right before the first debate. NowCast is the one that fluctuates a lot
  18. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) strawman all you wish What did I get wrong?
  19. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) based on your response I am positive you don't know what that means. You spent post after post defending those polls as quality indicators of Trump winning the debate. In your last post, you said you knew they were garbage, but were only trying to be technically correct that Trump won the most polls. That's a flip-flop.
  20. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) I have stated that Hillary won the debate. Joe American thinks Trump has. According to the (valid) polls, Joe American thought Clinton was handily. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) Trump's only goal was to look Presidential and for the most part he did that. This Sunday will be very interesting as Trump continues to close leads on Hillary. He didn't look Presidential and Clinton's lead is growing. ...maybe you are Greg.
  21. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) And yet I know all of this. All I stated were that the majority of polls were Trump and that was true. I think you all need some Valium That's a quality flip flop.
  22. Sorry to hear about your loss. It sucks. Some people might think this is kinda cheesy, but check out if your local area has any of those businesses with "drink wine and paint" classes. Sometimes they will do a "paint your pet" session. It's a nice thing to have hung up at your house (and they will take a photo and faintly 'print' it onto the canvas so even if your art skills are lacking, you'll do fine).
  23. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) 3) Are you saying that it's FACTUAL that the voter law passed in NC was to deny a race or multiple races? Beyond a reasonable doubt, yes.
  24. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) For which there is no evidence of "stuffing." The fact that the stuffable polls massively contradicted the non-stuffable polls is extremely strong evidence that they were stuffed. ...And there's the posts on Reddit and 4chan where Trump supporters talked about spamming those polls. http://www.dailydot.com/layer8/trump-clint...han-the-donald/
  25. QUOTE (brett05 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 05:02 PM) I also do not think the vote totals for the scientific polls approached the non, but I digress. Correct, scientific polls of actual people typically don't reach the totals of online polls that can be answered repeatedly by the same person over and over, or bots.
