  1. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) Where are the videos of groups of white people attacking minorities because Trump won? Can I get a link, you said they were everywhere. When did I say that? There was somebody posting tweets from Shaun King giving accounts of various incidents. This site talks about at least 3 assaults, and a lot more threats/intimidation. http://nymag.com/thecut/2016/11/trump-vote...-yesterday.html
  2. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Democrats should be furious that their party did this stuff but instead youre sitting here trying to justify or question its credibility. Its not James OKeefes fault that the democrats acted like pieces of s***. I'm sitting here telling you that you blatantly misrepresented what was on the video. If people were being sent to rallies to commit assault, I *would* be angry. People being sent to troll is really stupid, but I'm not going to get super upset about it. The video of a Trump supporter being attacked is absolutely awful, by the way. No one was objecting to you posting it and pointing out that there's some nasty stuff going on by both Trump supporters AND Trump opponents in the last couple days. The issue was you posting it over and over and over again.
  3. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) You keep ignoring the part about them specifically saying they used the mentally ill. Is that ok to you? I didn't ignore it because it's not relevant to the criticism I'm making, which is that your portrayal of what was on the tapes is flatly false. I'm not cool with people, mentally ill or not, being sent to rallies to troll. It's stupid. But it's not a serious crime like paying people to go out and commit assault.
  4. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Ya thats why Bob Creamer was forced to step down from the super pac and distance himself from the campaign, because of the sheep lol. I guess we didn't learn anything from James O'Keefe's previous videos, which also resulted in people losing jobs and then it being revealed as a bunch of misleading nonsense.
  5. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Are you nitpicking the word attack or denying this happened? They paid people to go to the rallies and cause "disruptions" which led to violence and people getting hurt. They admitted the DNC not only knew about but they had a say in it. They had people go to rallies with shirts and signs that would irritate Trump supporters, hoping they'd react poorly. That's not even in the same ballpark as being paid to attack people. Your framing is amazingly dishonest.
  6. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) while the actual democratic party was hiring people to attack American citizens What are you referring to? Even the edited, context-free James O'Keefe videos didn't show people being hired to attack people.
  7. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) That's pathetic if people in current positions under Obama would give up their jobs because they don't like their new boss. They work for the country/people. Borderline treason there. The article is about Trump being unable to find GOP experts to take over the positions, not the people who currently hold them. "and they met resistance across the landscape of experienced GOP national security professionals" Edit: I see that 2 people were current employees. Not wanting to work for Trump isn't even remotely treasonous.
  8. QUOTE (Tony @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) What? That was #1 rally cry for his base at every stop he made. We're we supposed to know these were 100% empty promises? Did everyone at the rallies know that? I think plenty of people understood that it was less a serious proposal and more a generic anti-immigrant/anti-Mexican message.
  9. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 05:46 PM) What kind of policies are they currently seeking? I know we have the bathroom stuff in North Carolina but other than that I thought we were pretty up to date on gay rights. - Reversal of Obergefell, or state/local officials just ignoring it and not getting any pressure from the feds. - Expansion of "Religious Freedom" laws that explicitly allow discrimination against gay people, or state laws which eliminate local anti-discrimination laws (like NC's HB2).
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 06:22 PM) Except he works for Goldman, not Chase. Goldman dude is Mnuchin, who is also a top contender for the cabinet.
  11. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) I'll say it again, I hate the fact that we elected Trump, I full expect him to be pretty awful, but God damn is it entertaining watching you guys (and other liberals I know) freak out to the absolute extreme. All while i'm sure you laughed when Repub's were concerned that Obama was a socialist and was going to destroy the 2nd amendment. CALM. THE. f***. DOWN. Sure, because that was conspiracy theory nonsense. The fears about Trump concern his actual policies and positions, and the fact that he's infamously unpredictable/crazy/rash. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) This asshole was a Democrat the majority of his life. Just because he fooled a bunch of dumb Republicans into voting for him on a "conservative" platform doesn't mean he's actually going to do it. I think it would be more accurate to say he (a New Yorker) hung out with Democrats the majority of his life. You agreed with me before: he doesn't have any actual principles. He goes with the flow of who he's surrounded by. And right now that's the crazy wing of the GOP.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Yeah, I know I have had discussions about people only seeing what they want to see, and becoming dumber for it. All people have a tendency to favor sources that confirm their own views, but the problem now is that people are going to dumber and more extreme sources than ever. You like CNN over Fox News, or the WSJ over the WaPo? I get it. You reject all of them as shill and get your information from Breitbart, InfoWars, and Facebook? Christ.
  13. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) Interesting link. I'm amazed by people who don't vote for what is best for them. I know several people who have kids with pretty serious health conditions that have bought into the anti-Obama care stuff. And then there are the people whose whole basis for voting is one issue - guns or abortion stand out. Two issues that have had very little movement for years and won't again. Most of my wife's coworkers voted for Trump because Hillary was going to confiscate all the guns in America.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:41 AM) The Hawks have control of the puck on a power play, yet the Blues fans are chanting Craw-ford. The Best Fans in Baseball are the stupidest in hockey Why is Craw-ford even a chant? Shouldn't that type of thing be reserved for easily-rattled jobbers rather than 2-time Stanley Cup champion veterans?
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 10:06 PM) 55% voter turnout, pretty embarrassing as a country. Wonder how the other 45% would have voted. Only a quarter of the country actually voted for Trump I propose a law that would allow voters to legally smack non-voters upside the head if they start to complain about politics. People love complaining so much they'd probably vote more.
  16. QUOTE (brett05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) any evidence of my lack of understanding or just an attack on a poster? The fact that you think it is "silly", or somehow comparable to believing in a flat Earth, makes me believe you've not actually examined it. I don't think the pro-life position is silly; I just don't agree with it. Can you tell me why you think people are pro-choice?
  17. QUOTE (brett05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) It's just as silly which is the valid comparison. Your inability to understand the pro-choice position(s) is not evidence against it.
  18. QUOTE (brett05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) No, it's about as much of a debate as flat earth is. One's views on abortion are ethical opinions, not statements of fact. It's not comparable to the shape of the Earth in any way.
  19. QUOTE (brett05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) It's not a debate. It's murder and needs to end. Folks making themselves feel comfortable with murder by calling it women's health and the word abortion is abominable. It's a debate. You just don't want to acknowledge it.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) Murdering Americans? What the heck are you talking about? He's trying to start an abortion debate.
  21. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) You do realize Trump has been accused of sexual assault by 12 women, right? Yeah but think about how many women will be saved from breast cancer once they can't have abortions! /s
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) C'mon, man. Trump already said it will be replaced by something terrific. Yes, they'll open up state lines so insurers from 50 different states can reject them.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) People who should be concerned: African Americans Undocumented people and their children Poor people Muslim Americans LGBTQ community Palestinians Am I missing anyone? Sick people with individual insurance through Obamacare. Once it's gone, and they're never going to get any decent coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
  24. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 06:19 PM) Oh don't take that statement to mean I prefer Donald "I have no policy" Trump. Gotcha
  25. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) I don't. They have no principles and go wherever the public winds tell them to go. I don't think one could make an argument that Donald Trump has more consistent political principles than Hillary Clinton. As you noted not far back, he aligned himself with Democrats not long ago.
