  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) That Star Trek movie was bad. It was just terribly boring. I can't even remember what it was about. There was a bad guy with little swarmy ships and he didn't like the Federation for some reason. Also he took some artifact that was gonna disintegrate the mega space station.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 02:12 AM) Then there is the state of Illinois and its gerrymandering as a perfect example of what happens when Democrats hold the levers of power. I mean have you seen the Illinois 4th district? The 4th is definitely ridiculous, but it's basically there to give Latino voters a representative. It's not taking away from Republicans.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 04:50 AM) Who knows what the future will hold, but at least Trump stood against the ethic's committee thing. He said that cutting the OCE shouldn't be a PRIORITY; not that it shouldn't be done. His tweet called the OCE "unfair".
  4. QUOTE (brett05 @ Jan 3, 2017 -> 04:39 PM) I'm confused....the committee that was supposed to be independent is corrupt so it is getting oversight. What specifically did I miss? How was it corrupt? It already had oversight. Now it has no power. The House can shut down its investigations and they're not allowed to release any info to the public. I'd say this is bad optics for Republicans but there's no such thing anymore.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) This would be the liberal nightmare scenario for the whole telling people that they can't deny people services for religious, moral, or ethical reasons. Unless the Rockettes constitute a public accomodation and they're refusing service to Trump on the basis of a protected class (race, ethnicity, religion, etc), it's not an issue at all.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Back during the campaign, all of the lunatic and white supremacist supporting tweets came from an Android while anything that was professional was coming from an iPhone. Basically he's got an Android and someone else on his staff has an iPhone. The recent "unpresidented" tweet was Android, while the correction was made on an iPhone.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) That last paragraph is pretty f***ed up. Yeah, why would you ever give that as an example as how things should work? If the story was "We immediately went to the ER but it ended up being something really minor. We should have waited.", it would at least have made sense.
  8. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) To be fair, my family is known for wrapping presents in boxes 2 and 3 times bigger than the actual present. Many times there are multiple boxes/layers of gift wrap to get through. It's also possible that I though it was a GI Joe vehicle or something as well. Ah, very tricky. This year for our son, we wrapped a vacuum (that's one of his chores) and a cell phone and we're going to tell him he can only choose one box. We hope he's enticed by the giant box. (yes we will give him both)
  9. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) So when I picked the present I wanted to open on Christmas Eve my parents asked me "Are you sure you want to open that one?" Of course being a kid I didn't listen to them and said "Yes, I'm sure." I opened it and it was a metal White Sox garbage can. It was cool and all (I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere) but not exactly what I was hoping for at that moment. lol. If you were trying to pick out an NES game present, why didn't you choose a small rectangular box? THIS LARGE, HEAVY CYLINDER MUST BE BUBBLE BOBBLE!
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) Thats a keen eye. It's come a long way since Episode 1 and the cartoonish bulls***
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) Once you know, you can tell. But I challenge anyone to call it out in the first scene. I thought it was amazing. I could easily tell he was CGI the first time he appeared. He was still impressive though. The other CGI character was ROUGH though.
  12. I like that Rogue One improves A New Hope by .
  13. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/aft...m=.764172a8259e How do you know that was Clinton supporters as opposed to supporters of Sanders, Johnson, or Stein? If Clinton had just gone out of her way to trash the Orange County NC Republicans, I'd understand.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:15 AM) How come I was told to cut it out when I was calling her Hilly and Crooked Hilly and we're calling him 'crooked Donnie?' He's the President of the United States, folks. I'd show him some respect or maybe move to Canada. I mean I wouldn't vote for him as is my right to abstain with 2 horrible candidates, but he is my president now. I wasn't crazy about Obama except for his Sox and Chicago fandom but I never showed him disrespect. Let's face it there are inconsistencies on this board which leans Democratic over Republican big time. I don't particularly like the politics of a Bush 41, Dole, Bush 43, McCain, or Romney, but they were basically respectable people. Donald Trump is a straight up piece of s***.
  15. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Wait, so a President can never respond to criticism? And he's advocating violence? The criticism was that Trump lied about the details of the deal. Trump didn't respond to that criticism. He basically said "f*** that guy. He sucks and his union sucks."
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Trump taps Oklahoma AG for head of EPA Climate change denier, loves fossil fuels, hates the environment, repeatedly sues the EPA. Good pick to head the EPA. Bonus points for wanting Bibles to be distributed to public school children, opposing SSM, and trying to sue Colorado because that weird marijuana smell was wafting into his state.
  17. I don't mind the Transformers movies being mindless nonsense, but they're soooo long. 2 hours and 45 minutes for the last one? Past the first one, these things should be clocking in at 90 minutes.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) Mistrial declared in the trial of the officer who shot Walter Scott in the back while he was running away with it all caught on film. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/walter-sc...t-trial-n690331 If you can't convict that guy, you can't convict any police officer.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) I wonder if Trump realizes that being against flag burning is very PC? Only liberals can be PC.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 30, 2016 -> 05:37 PM) They (kinda cheaply) threw a curveball on that by
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) It's not a conspiracy theory when ISIS declares him their soldier on their own news-wire. Doesn't ISIS take always take credit for these types of attacks regardless of whether or not there is any actual connection?
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) The punishment wasn't as severe as what crooked Donnie is proposing but also a head scratcher: Hillary sponsored legislation punishing flag burning w/1 yr in jail + $100k fine. Dumb legislation for sure, but it wasn't for simply burning a flag in protest. The law was for "destroying or damaging a U.S. flag with the primary purpose and intent to incite or produce imminent violence or a breach of the peace"
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) She IS challenging them publicly by being involved in the recount process. Just because she is lying to the people about it, doesn't make it true. I don't agree. You're adding your own personal, uncharitable interpretation to the actual events.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) What I think of the election results is another false equivalency. Who said anything about your opinion of the election results? QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) What matters here is the Clinton's involvement in undermining faith in the election results by challenging them publicly. She's not challenging them publicly and her campaign's statement even reinforces the results by noting that no fraud has been detected. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) She is doing exactly what she campaigned against, repeatedly. Yup, I remember when Donald Trump said that if a state had a recount, he'd have representatives there to check it out.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) So they are saying that out loud, but they doing the opposite by introducing doubt into those results by challenging results in 3 states. If you trust results, you don't introduce doubt and conspiracy by challenging them. Those two words and actions do not match up. It is typical Clinton hypocrisy. Jill Stein is requesting the recount in WI. That's already done. Being diligent by being part of the process isn't itself challenging results, especially when you're making it very clear you don't think there's anything wrong with them. Your accusation only even partially works if you accept a hidden Stein-Clinton conspiracy.
