QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 10:09 AM) Going to see Guns 'N Roses after work tonight at Allstate Arena. Ticket says the show starts at 9, so I'm hoping they hit the stage before midnight. Only half kidding about that. Either way, been hearing some pretty positive reviews about this tour overall. Hoping that this time around they focus a lot more of their "new" (3 years old) material, unlike the last two times they came through here. I missed the show here locally, but I would have went had I known. I had a coworker there. He said he left at 1 AM, and they were still playing. They played past 2 AM here....38 freakin' songs. That is a show.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) K-Cup is convenient. I'm not arguing that. But anyone that claims -- or attempts to claim -- that it's a quality cup of coffee is delusional at best...either that or they're trying hard to convince themselves. It's quick brew trash with fine ground coffee inside, coffee that may have once held the true characteristics necessary to make a quality cup, but once in those cups, the oils are gone... Nothing beats opening a bag of beans and seeing the shiny oil covered fresh beans...and K-Cup will never have that. Ever. Also, for a person that claims to care about the environment -- congratulations, you choose the Exxon of coffee making pollution creation. May as well drink water out of plastic bottles and fill up the local landfills while your at it. http://www.coffeehabitat.com/2011/09/k-cups-recycling/ Any "recycle" programs people talk about with K-Cup are BS...so don't try. Sounds to me, your mind is made up to think that, no matter what. Personally, I have no problem with Keurig cups for coffee. It is a complete waste of time and coffee at our place, to sit and make a pot of coffee, so it can sit around and scald on the bottom, in hopes someone drinks it. Nevermind the fact that it is going to sit there for hour(s) just hanging out. Single cup brewing, on the other hand, with a s***ton of choices so I don't have to keep 17 1-lb. bags of coffee at my house, wins any day of the week.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) I have a tassimo and I just dont like the flavor of it for whatever reason, Im just looking for an alternative to walking across the street to starbucks. Or, as my favorite T shirt to wear, says...

Monday night brought the Foos with Social D and The Joy Formidible to Atlanta. Damn, that show just goes and goes. I think it was 3 hours for the Foos, and an hour or so for Social D. Speaking of Social D, I forgot how damn long those guys have been around!!
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) Nah, I've had the little packets/cups/whatever machines and i dont like them. I like fresh ground fresh brewed coffee. You might be surprised. We use and abuse our Keurig, more than most people should. I wouldn't do coffee/tea any other way now.
  7. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) I absolutely love Dooley. I really want him to succeed b/c he's just the man. But I do highly question some of his in-game coaching decisions. Then again, he is working with no room for error. With a healthy offense, he can get away with some of those "questionable" decisions. With a healthy Bray, Tennessee wins that game last night. That's what just f***ing pisses me off about losing our 3 best players so far this year. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. SOS said he shut the passing game down in the 3rd quarter, when it was obvious that inside runs would work all the way down the field. That defense has given up 21 points total in the last 4 SEC games.
  8. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 11:59 PM) It's called a letdown win from a team overperforming the week before. See Michigan State. Also, just realized this: USC is 6-1 with all their games against BCS conference teams and their only loss on the road to a ranked team. However, they are unranked. What world at we living in that USC is horribly underrated? Edit: nevermind didn't realize the polls couldn't vote for them due to sanctions. AP has them 20. That still seems low. Seriously, wtf was that game about?? It is one thing to suffer a hangover after a huge win (see us last year losing at Kentucky by 3 after beating #1 Bama). But...that wasn't even remotely a game..
  9. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) That play clearly changed the game. And Waggner not scoring on his INT return killed. I told the guys I was watching the game with that Worley was going to throw a redzone pick and one play later it happened. Those 2 plays kept 14 points off the board. Well, you got Worley some game experience, but he isn't ready for that really. It sucks, because Dooley is my 2nd favorite coach in all of football, and I really hope he wins somewhere.
  10. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) That's sort of the same thing I said about us losing Justin Hunter. I thought it would be great for Bray since he wouldn't just be able to throw it up to Hunter every play and expect it to be caught. He'd have to play smarter and involve the other guys... then I realized quickly that I'd give just about anything to have Hunter back. Regardless, I get your point. It could help the offense in the long-run without having Lattimore be the guy on just about every play. And frankly, it's a shame that the QB play has been so inconsistent for yall b/c Alshon Jeffrey is unbelievable. Can't imagine what he'd do with a stud QB throwing to him. And looks like Simms has been benched for a freshman. Uh, we'll see how that goes, but I'm not expecting great things. Worley is a talent, just ask Clowney...Worley's team ran over Southside last year with Clowney there. But, I do have to kind of question why Dooley pulls the redshirt on week 8 of the season. Sometimes it can't be helped, though. We both know that Simms is....in no way his father or even his brother. He looked rough.
  11. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 23, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) Good thing Lane Kiffin told him he couldn't fit in a pro-style offense even though he had been committed to Tennessee. Looks like he'd fit in just about any style offense with the way he's playing right now. Not a huge deal b/c I like Tyler Bray, but it would be nice to have both players (especially now with the awful Matt Simms playing QB). I'm excited about our game next week. With Lattimore out, I feel like we have a chance. Though, unless Matt Simms starts playing better, we won't be able to put up any points. Boy, Matt Simms....he needs some monumental improvement in a hurry. I know this will sound weird and homerish, but I'm kinda happy to see the offense this week, without Lattimore in there to scheme against. He had really struggled in the last 3-4 games, because it was easy to scheme against a QB with limited exposure to throwing the ball.
  12. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 23, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) I haven't watched a single game of Clemson this year but are they really that good or do they benifet from being in the ACC? Their offense is a load to deal with, Tajh Boyd is deadly accurate. Their defense, on the other hand, is average at best. If a team that plays slow, drawn out methodical offensive drives, like Georgia Tech for example, can limit how often Clemson's offense is on the field, thats the way to handle them. We'll have our shot in November, but....not feeling quite as good about it as I once did.
  13. The kid had a LOT of problems, and we can leave it at that.
  14. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 12:26 AM) South Carolina's Melvin Ingram is my favorite non-Tennessee player. He's just fun to watch. Today's stats for the defensive lineman: 9 tackles, 5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 1 INT... And to think he doesn't even get the most pub on that defense (see: Jadeveon Clowney). He is playing himself into the NFL, on this season alone. Unfortunately, we're stuck with a 5th year senior QB, that is playing this team into mediocrity, and himself into a great career in retail.
  15. Hell, my order is in on it either way. With that being said, I'll still probably buy the next iPad that is released, but the Kindle Fire is at a price point and functionality level that it is, IMO, WELL worth talking a $200 shot on.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Full Color, 7" tablet from Amazon, the "Kindle Fire". $199. Yep, very smooth for that price. And...already preordered by moi.
  17. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) Hey, no worries, looks like my school is back in the NCAA investigation picture. Lane Kiffin really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm so f***ing pissed. I dealt with a year and a half investigation, and now another one is being opened up for more violations during Kiffin's tenure. When will it end? Lane Kiffin is the gift that keeps on giving.... That dude is pure poison, and I REALLY wish they'd give him the coaching death penalty for a few years honestly. He deserves it.
  18. The whole Boise thing, gets NO airplay which is kinda crazy. It seemed to me like it was very far-reaching, in terms of the scope. Yet I bet there are people out there, college football fans, who don't even know Boise was in trouble of any kind.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) No offense to Capn, but is anyone surprised this happened at a school that landed Clowney? Anyone who seriously also considered Clemson is shady enough for me. Clowney is a super mama's boy, that wasn't going anywhere where mama couldn't drive to watch him play. That commit was 'sealed' long before he ever went public.
  20. Nothing that wasn't unexpected. 10 football players were paying $450 a month to stay at a pretty crappy hotel. NCAA deemed that under 'market' value, ok I guess, whatever. All of the violators were made to move out asap last year, and pay all back rent. As for S.A.M, the University has turned a pretty cold shoulder to that outfit. Part of the problem there is that the founder is a S. Carolina alumnus, which obviously is a big no-no. But here is the thing, we received 1 commit out of the 16 or so kids that went through that program. That kid's father was on the board of trustees for that organization, but still let them pay for things for this kid. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Overall though, like I said, its pretty sad that the NCAA can spend a year + hanging around, looking for things we did wrong, and only come up with the Whitney hotel crap, and the S.A.M. organization junk that just happened ~2 weeks ago. I never want to compare situations, but in terms of wrongdoings in comparison to other schools in hot water, I don't see very much. We'll see.
  21. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) After the way LSU just shut down Miss St, I cant imagine LSU not being a favorite. And given the perception of SEC schools playing big teams from other conferences, especially considering they are playing a Big East team, I would guess LSU being a 3-5 point favorite. I dont see South Carolina going 12-0 either. Three consecutive weeks on the road at Miss St, Tennesse and Arkansas will be killer. I'm not too high on Florida but South Carolina then plays UF right afterwards and who knows how much they'll have left in the tank. If someone doesn't step up at QB, we're gonna be lucky to get to 9-3. The passing game is atrocious right now. Luckily, our bye week is between Miss. St and Tennessee, so that helps as well.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 02:16 AM) Foo Fighters were f***ing incredible last night. They played for 2.5 hours, and brought the house down. They played two covers in the encore (Tom Petty and Queen)...they were clearly having a good time, since the Queen cover (Tie Your Mother Down) was completely spontaneous and not part of the original set list. Here's a review; the setlist is at the bottom of the article. November in Atlanta, I'll get to see em for the 3rd or 4th time. It has always been a great show IMO. I'd go see them, and/or Chris Cornell ANYDAY of the week.
  23. Awful, boring game that just shows Mullen's team really isn't that special at all.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 10:43 PM) You have a very fun team this year...thanks for beating UGA! Is that Ingram guy a highly rated NFL prospect? Clowney's just awesome, it's hard to imagine him not being a top 3 pick after 3 seasons. Man, there are TONS of 'boo hoos' going on around me, living in Clemson (ugh) country. But fact remains, these are the type of games that Georgia has beaten us in, in the last 10 years. There have been numerous occasions in the last decade where we flat outplayed them, and some fluke play (our fumble on the Georgia 2 yard line to lose, David Pollack sacking our QB in the endzone and taking the ball from him at the same time) caused us to lose. Its nice to be on the other side of that ledger for once. We went on the road, played a team that was back against the wall with a coach they are trying to save, played half ass, and STILL came away with a win. As for Ingram, he was a linebacker, that had no home, he moved to the D Line last year, and had 9.5 sacks. Coming into this year, though, we had 1st Team SEC DE Devin Taylor on one end, and of course, Clowney on the other. So Ingram has been turned into a DE/DT hybrid that is absolutely wreaking havoc so far. Our D Line has won the games for us so far, thanks to the back 7 playing some extremely s***ty football so far. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) The main thing that separates the SEC from all the other conferences are its defensive lines - they're all so big and fast. It's as close to the NFL as you can find. And Melvin Ingram is a prime example of that defensive line talent. How many d-lineman can outrun an entire team for 70 yards on a fake punt and also be on the "hands team" for kickoffs? It's amazing. Its funny, the team and coaches talk about him a lot. How he can throw farther than Garcia, can punt if needed, and was a running back in high school. And how he does standing back flips in practice all the time. Kinda ridiculous. Now, we get to prepare for a Navy offense that will absolutely baffle us. I'm nervous, but its our home opener, so I feel pretty good.
