Game Thread - 4/22 @ 7:10 PM Tribe vs. Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2013 -> 08:28 PM) How did Keppinger get on base? Was it a clean single/line drive? With Dunn hitting 4th, no opposing pitcher will give Rios anything decent to hit. It's almost like the Mike Stanton Experience in Miami. Ball hit near the middle, Kipnis fielded it, but threw it WAY over the first baseman's head. Home call 'base hit'

Caught up with Orphan Black. Seems interesting enough, I don't need to see that blond chick's sliced up back again, though. Thanks.

GT 4/21/13 Twins vs. SOX @ 1:10 pm on WGN
I love how some people just continue to say 'can we be patient?' We juts dropped 2 games to probably the worst team in the division, AT HOME. We are .500 at home, and dreadful on the road. These games in April count the same amount as the ones in September, when we may find ourselves not playing pee wee league competition. Should we still be patient then? This team was never set up to succeed, and even worse, the manager won't do a damn thing to move the lineup around. Kepp, is not a #2 hitter right now. May he snap out of it? I hope so, but right now he has no business being there. Try something new...jesus, running the same dead horse lineup out there, only contributes to more losses against bad competition.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2013 -> 05:01 PM) No. Jeff Keppinger will forever have a BABIP of .180, despite his career .290+ BABIP. Just like Dunn will not stay below .200 while in a Sox uni, because his career avs before that was .261, right?

I love how we paid a career utility player, to be an everyday starter.

What a joke. 2 runs in 2 games vs a terrible Minnesota pitching staff.

The LOOGY walk machine vs their best lefty hitter, should be interesting.

Lots of things you can do as the first reliever out of the pen. Walking the first guy on 4 straight isn't one of those things.

Good curve to get out of it though, so there is that.

Sox push back rotation
I don't think anyone will argue that Gavin has done a better job over his career, vs. Axelrod...but it has little to do with who is performing now, in the 2013 season. Gavin looked absolutely dreadful his last time out, and with a pretty bad team overall offensively, it is about what have you done for me lately, and who gives me the best chance to not lose a game in the now.
-
Sox push back rotation
Do Gavin's 2007-2012 stats impact his next start? Right now, it is about who gives this team the best chance to win a game, something that isn't happening much with an anemic offense. That person is not Gavin Floyd, as of this moment.

Sox push back rotation
Pitcher #1 : 0-3, 6.32 ERA, 15.2 IP, 22 H, 11 ER, 3 HR allowed, 7 BB, 18 K's, 1.85 WHIP Pitcher #2 : 0-1, 4.70 ERA, 15.1 IP, 17 H, 8 ER, 2 HR allowed, 7 BB, 9 K's, 1.57 WHIP Who deserves the bump for one start?

Right now, sad as it is, Axe > Gavin. Skip Floyd.

Twins @ White Sox, 4/20/12
Kepp really having a great start to his 2013 season.
-
Twins @ White Sox, 4/20/12
If I told you that we had a team ERA of 3.48, Alexei hitting over 300, Rios crushing the ball, and a closer who hadn't blown a save all year, I doubt you'd think this team was about to be 7-10, with no offensive abilities at all, terrible with RISP, etc.
-
Twins @ White Sox, 4/20/12
Lol. This team, you can't help but laugh..
-
Twins @ White Sox, 4/20/12
You pinch run with a guy who not only didn't make any effort to steal, but in fact, was completely lost on the pitcher's movement to home/first. So we lost PK for a stationary runner...
-
Twins @ White Sox, 4/20/12
So no PK, and no one except Rios left in the line up.
