  1. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) I came to thinking about the makeup of this team for the next few years and found something I really liked. Our starting rotation. Looking to 2007, our rotation will be filthy if Kenny can somewhere pick up a #4 or better starting pitcher. Our rotation would be rediculously good. Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, ???, BMac. One more quality starter in the mix and you can easily win any game of the season assuming BMac is not a complete bust. We have lots of young guys in the field too, assuming we can hold onto them until then. Dye can be replaced by Anderson and Sweeney and Rowand and Pods are hopefully here to stay. I'm lovin this team right now, but the future looks to be possibly even sweeter. Here's to the Sox of now and the future! Until Mac can prove to me he's nothing more than another over hyped pitching prospect, I'm not counting on him for anything....as for the other hyped prospects. too many times has there been a "Can't miss" that has missed for the sox.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) The Meltdown Thread itself was mainly optimisitic. it was?
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) I think the guys were pressing out there. In the grand scheme of things the game was pretty meaningless but being a crosstown rivalry they were out there trying a little too hard. We should be just fine though. Everyone going off and acting like we just fell below .500 or lost the division lead or something is a little over the top. My thoughts exactly.
  4. I guess no one wants to give credit to a hall of fame pitcher and a damn good up and comer? Maddox and Prior ARE DAMN GOOD!! good pitching beats good hitting any day of the week.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Right, that would make 0 sense. I still say if Sabean decides Schmidt's available and Kenny wants to get him he will, maybe we can trade Minny Minoso for him. Tell them we have this top prospect....Joe Jackson. Kind of a goofie one though. Forgot his shoes one time.
  6. Of course they would. The yankees or Red Sox will probably be favored.
  7. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Imagine if JR would have sprung for Clement instead of El Duque... Then there would be no AJ or Gooch, I think. The amount of money saved by not signing him allowed KW to fill more holes.
  8. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) i'm just waitin for the "McCarthy for Oswalt" thread I'd sure do that trade. Oswalt is proven and damn good.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Have you seen him shirtless? I haven't. You dont need to see him shirt less to know that the dude is skinny as a rail.
  10. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) It's good natured. He gives me s*** about the Sox when they're not doing well. His son plays with my dog. I see. Well have at it then. If you're any good at poker you should invite him over, make sure he drinks a lot and brings his ATM card. LOL
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) Show some class and don't say anything. That's what i was thinking.
  12. I am hoping it will be vs. St. Louis so i can try to make it to either city for at least 1 game. that would kick ass!
  13. I did notice that after the 2nd, Freddy worked A LOT faster and was rolling. in the first and some of the 2nd, he was crawling. i kept on yelling, 'GET IT AND THROW IT!!' he just needs to come out and fire instead of lally-gagging around.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Um... You mean, Jeremy Bonderman Right? i sure hope that's what he means. LOL. if not.....
  15. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) 190+ innings each of the last three years, a 4.6ish ERA (not horrible considering the AL average) and 12 wins in each of the last three years, a stat that few other pitchers can boast. He's already got 86 innings pitched this year and with his durability and apparent poise at still a relatively young age, I think we could see the emergence of a right-handed Buehrle. A guy who will give you 200 innings every year, stay relatively injury free, go deep into every game and at the least get you 15 wins every year. You probably just jinxed him! lol. j/k
  16. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) I have been preaching this for over a month now on another White Sox message board, and today an article was written by Eric Wilbur preaching the same thing: So once again, Bill Mueller will be traded to the White Sox. so is this set in stone or a rumor?
  17. Garland needs to shut them down. He has been pretty good at home, IIRC. The Sox offense need to score some runs today.
  18. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Don't know if anyone heard that Terry Boers on the Score basically ripped the Sox and said that nationally absolutely no one would care if this team went to the World Series. Said the ratings would be abysmal for the White Sox in the World Series and network execs would be dreading the Sox going to the fall classic. Said of all of the old-time historic teams, the Sox have nothing that makes them likable or unique. Said the current team couldn't get recognized anywhere if they weren't on the field wearing their uniform. Yea, those Marlins and Angels have so much more marketability than the Sox.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) There was a thread on Brower from a couple of days ago. Basically, he was a great set up guy for the Giants last season, but NL hitters have figured out his main weapon, his slider. It's worth a shot though, since AL hitters haven't seen much of his stuff, and well we need any help we can get in the bullpen. Damn those gimmick pitches....like the change up!!
  20. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) so we should use shingo against lefties and viz against righties maybe we can somehow combine the 2. lol
  21. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 08:27 AM) Exactly what I thought. I'm an attorney and cant figure out for the life of me what Mariotti could possibly be talking about. maybe he was just talking about calling him for a golf game.
  22. LOL. at the end it says... LMFAO. for what? calling our your lies!!?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :banghead
  23. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) No Thomas trading...he my favorite! Yea, any trade involving Hurt sucks. He needs to retire a Sox.
