This is a perfect situation for one Boone Logan.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) You should know by now the route our minor leaguers take once they've been promoted. Fields will come up with high expectations and fail immediately. If they're think about making him an outfielder, they should try working him in LF occassionally. I think Crede's back is still a big concern for KW.

AJ should have hada huge advantage at the plate against this guy his last AB. He can't throw anything in, because if he even gets close to him he's gone.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Javys gona plunk someone after the bp is ready. I can feel it. That wouldn't be wise. It would put BMac in the rotation for a turn or 2 when the apeals process is over at the end of July or early August.

Hawk's not making sense now. He is saying the warning has hurt Vazquez making him pitch away, away, away. The warning was issued in the 4th inning. Vazquez hasn't allowed a run since the warning.

I don't understand what Hawk is crying about now. You still have to score to win. I don't think the warning is causing the Sox to take strike 3 over and over again.

Too bad he didn't hit him again.

Hawk lied, there were warnings issued.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) How long would a pitcher be suspended if he drilled a Ranger? And can we afford to have Thornton bean someone? I think although no warnings have been issued, the guy would most likely get tossed, and suspended for a few games. If you are going to bean someone, have Tracey or Montero do it. If they were gone 3 games you might not even notice. By the time the suspension would have to be served, they might be back in Charlotte.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Who are you impressed with then? Contreras and Albert Pujols? Those 2 are pretty impressive.

There's always a lot of talk not suitable for regular TV on the benches. I remember Oakland calling Buerhle all kinds of names his rookie season when he pitched inside to one of their hitters.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Show some professionalism, Hawk. He sounds like a huge scumbag right now. And I know I'm not the guy to call him on something like this, but you're on TV Hawk. Stop saying this s***. There's a lot of little kids watching this game right now, many who play little league, and while retaliation may be in order, I agree with you, Hawk needs to tone it down. Talking about going after one of their better players, or meeting him outside the clubhouse is irresponsible.

No warnings have been issued yet.

If he did it on purpose, he gave the Sox a baserunner with nobody out twice. It would have been nice if the Sox made him pay.

This appears to be the first game where Vazquez won't have the lead this season.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) He wasn't risking getting tossed because he wasn't warned the first time he threw right at Pierzynski on the first pitch. You don't have to be warned to get tossed anymore. They changed that a couple of years ago.

Even if it was intentional, doesn't Hawk often cry that the game has changed for the worse. He always would mention Drysdale and Early Wynn as guys who would nail you when you took them deep, and he often cries about how almost every inside pitch results in a staredown. He cries everytime a White Sox gets beaned. He's being hypocritical.

OFFICIAL GO CUBBIES THIS WEEKEND THREAD!!!
So many people are so sure the Tigers will fade, why root for the Cubs?

Russ Ortiz
KW almost traded for him before he went to Atlanta. I haven't seen him pitch at all this year, but last year he was awful. He must be just horrid if the DBacks can't get anyone to trade for him while eating most of his contract. Guys that have that much much just eaten, unless their name is Tim Thomas, are usually done, or at least not much of a player anymore.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) Except when McCarthy made his first start there last season, and every flyball was gone. Left field at Cleveland has that type of feeling for me. Me too. On TV, you would think right handed power hitters would die in Cleveland.
-
June 13th game
If McCarthy could become consistant in the bullpen, maybe if he consistantly pitched, it would be huge for this team.

June 13th game
I know that place is a bandbox, but everytime I see a game in Texas, it seems like you would have to hit one 600 ft. to hit it out of there.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) Pods now at .251 and only outhitting Uribe and Anderson.....both those 2 are hitting better than him right now though... Pods only has 5 fewer RBI than he did all of last season when a few people around here thought he warranted MVP consideration. Last year he may have been the most overrated player in the history of baseball.
