  1. Just wait until this years swing change.
  2. If there really was a coach who could make bad hitters good hitters, he would command way too much money to work for Jerry Reinsdorf.
  3. Just like back then, it’s all we got.
  4. Yeah 6 10 is probably official because I am sure pitchers were measured too. There is always the possibility they may have to hit. If he played for the Bulls, he would probably be listed at 7 feet.
  5. Major League debut in his hometown with 500 guests……it will be a miracle his pitch count isn’t elevated his first couple of innings.
  6. For some reason, I don't think giving away Lenyn Sosa is going to cost the White Sox any championships.
  7. I think JR likes Cash Considerations even more than David Eckstein.
  8. They trade him one day after the White Sox manager took the bat out of Mune's hands with a bunt to have Sosa face a funky right hander. The obvious happened next.
  9. Sosa is no big loss, but what they got back is a downgrade. Its a money dump, even though he doesn;t make much, it's above minimum.
  10. I haven’t seen or heard him mentioned in a while, but is Tony LaRussa still around?
  11. JR did hire Getz, a genius move that led to more miraculous hires. He must be pretty good. And Cali's ridiculous comment that if Ishbia saw Sox fans upset because the team sucked, he might back out of his agreement. That would be good, because if he expects White Sox fans to accept being bad, who wants him? We already have that.
  12. That's not what's laughable. Be opitmistic all you want, but understand why some aren't.
  13. This is laughable. Sox fans pissed because the team sucks. More like Cubs fans? You're just like Cubs fans. Results don't matter to you. 3 100 loss seasons in a row when we were promised being in a multiple championship window. How dare White Sox fans be upset.
  14. Would it have been any worse than what they got?
  15. At least they are actually interviewing for the position, not just looking at the equipment manager and thinking he or she will be the perfect yes man.
  16. The good news is he struck out a ton last game. But I'm with you, a loss of command that bad often means surgery is around the corner or the yips.
  17. It may eventually be classified a garbage appearance, but certainly not at the time he takes the mound.
  18. Taylor pitched the 6th and 7th innings before he began "starting:. Sox lost both. One they weren't in it anyway, the other Sir Anthony blew it. 2-1 when he "starts". I'd rather he waste vlad's first AB. Of course there will be games it doesn't work, just like there will be games it didn't work if he was pitching late, and garbage appearances because games haven't been close for a while. No garbage appearances when he opens.
  19. But maybe not all 3 in an inning. And you don't know how the game will go, and what the circumstances would be late in a game. Chances are with this team, there aren't going to be many high leveraged moments. This way you know exactly who he will be facing.
  20. Also, its always good to shut down the opposition in the 1st inning as the team that scores first wins between 60%-70% of the time.
  21. A teams best 3 hitters are coming up. You are the manager. Do you want Grant Taylor or Eric Fedde facing them?
  22. I like the idea of him facing the opponents top 3 hitters, also setting the stage for mediocre starters as they don't have to face the opponents best hitters until 4 or 5 of their lesser hitters bat. And if its a lefty following, puts the opposing manager on the spot early with match ups. If the White Sox had a quality rotation, I'd agree with you, but this is one way to make the most out of mediocrity at best. As mentioned, a dud like Burke had an ERA under 3 last year when he followed an opener.
