You s%*# posted me. LMAO. You are a joke.

There would be ways around it even if he was around. But keep in mind, on this board, people were praising the hiring of Paddy, kind of like your worship of Getz, who does nothing wrong, as he represented change, and that change was going to be good. Turns out it wasn’t.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
SS can generally play any position other than C or P. I wouldn’t be too worried the Sox draft too many SS. -
That the guy was a problem. There is no reason the team should be hamstrung by Marco Paddy until 2028 is James is correct. Another Getz blunder.
-
Actually, the trades that give them the pool money normally occur after most have actually signed. It does appear since Marco Paddy is now the reason the international signings suck, that it took Chris Getz, whose job was to develop these guys, so you would think he would know, 2 extra years to figure it out.
-
Why is it, if everything has already been determined for years and there is no one worth any spare money teams like the White Sox always have, that other teams, who do spend their money are willing to pay White Sox contracts in exchange for more pool money ? Im glad they have changed things. But they supposedly changed things when they brought in Paddy and everyone spoke of him like they do Bannister, Fuller etc. now.

Maybe instead of including money, JR could send some international bonus pool cash their way. It’s one of his favorites.

Winter Meetings Dec. Trades FA Signings Thread
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox could win 76 or 77 games and it won’t change their draft position in 2027. Why not try to be decent. A couple of crazy things happen, and you have a fun summer. -
No doubt the past clouds my judgement, but Chris Getz was a part of that past. As GM, he messed up with the Cease trade, but looks like he did well on the Crochet trade. What I don’t understand is why he didn’t trade Robert when he took the job,. At the end of 2024 he admitted he was surprised at 121 losses, but thought 110 was possible. If you are planning on being that bad, you aren’t going to be good for a while, so while there may be no bigger Luis Robert guy on Soxtalk than me, it made no sense not to trade him if you weren’t going to be any good for at least 3 or 4 years. He had a front row seat to what happened with several much ballyhooed prospects the previous few years, so he should know what happens could be bad, and it was. I just want them to be good. I know it’s crazy, but I don’t get much joy in watching them play poorly. Some things make no sense. Brian Bannister supposedly is a genius, yet ‘Ethan Katz had so much influence, he cancelled him out. He gets replaced by the Royals assistant pitching coach, who someone says is the guy that made the Royals pitching staff hum, but also said that the White Sox assistant pitching coach just stretches guys out. So a small market division rival has a guy who apparently is the reason their pitching staff improves, but in the Chris Getz model, the individual in the same position with the White Sox is more of a yoga iimstructor. Doesn’t seem like forward thinking to me.
-
Why would thinking signing Chris Getz as the GM is the equivalent of signing Josh Harrison to lead you to a championship be crazy especially considering even you Getz fans think the guy who hired him is the biggest problem? if you think about it from a logic perspective, someone else had at least some role in player acquisition, and organization building. But Getz was a JR solo call. Not even a small guardrail on that.

You know you suck when one of the most valuable things about you is you can be sent down.

20 years ago it would have been a blow, but now? It's pretty much a nothing, especially if you aren't a fan of teams that spend money. -

I wouldn't be surprised if Tauchman is back at a figure lower than his arb number. -
Of course. Plus, if they couldn’t get anything they wanted for him then, why would they get anything they wanted for him now with yet another injury? The only way they come out ahead is if he stays healthy and plays his ass off until the next trade deadline. He has the ability to do that, but it’s crazy to bet $20 million on it when $20 million to the White Sox seems a lot more than it does for most teams.
-
If anyone thought the White Sox would pay money to trade Robert when they just. Outdid have let him go for nothing, haven’t paid attention. That JR won’t kick in money is not news.
-
When you develop a 0.0 WAR player and call that developing a player, you need different people developing players. But of course I find 100+ loss seasons failure.
-
Coming from a guy who said Seby Zavala a guy who has the same career bWAR as me ,was a Getz win, while at the same time saying Getz had nothing to do with any other prospect failure is pretty funny. Now you think the rule 5 is a solid way to build a team.? I’m sure you are kidding.
-
Building your team through Rule 5 draft picks is a way to always draft in the top 10. The Sox did great in the rule 5 last year with the pick and the trade. Expecting anything close to that in the next decade would be ridiculous.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
i don't think there is anyone they could trade who they would be willing to trade, except for maybe Quero, who could make anyone really think they improved the team much. They aren't going to spend much on a free agent, so little help there, winning the top pick is about as impactful of a move they could have made this offseason. -

This is the best news they could have received from these meetings. I do question Getz referring to it as an honor. Dude, it pretty much means your team really sucks. -

Rick Hahn working for MLB Network at the meetings. -
I think the biggest impact action of the Winter Meetings that the White Sox actually have a great shot of doing is winning the draft lottery. It’s supposed to be a year of an obvious #1 pick.

Official NBA 25-26 Thread

It does seem hard to believe, but Giannis always had a hard on for the Bulls, and this could have happened when they were 5-0 and the darlings of the league. Then reality hit. How the Reinsdorfs have rewarded the people that still show up to watch this team lose is sickening. It shows you just how little chance the White Sox would have of sustained winning even if their fans were like Cubs fans and showed up no matter what. -

I just read an article where a GM said this years meetings will probably be boring. Welcome to the world of a White Sox fan.
