  1. He actually was much better defensively than advertised. He still isn’t the hitter Schriffen makes him out to be. He did have a glorious stretch, but per usual, regression to the mean occurred.
  2. He’s the assistant pitching coach and a former pitching coach. He’s just warms people up?
  3. That steward of the franchise and not the owner is the same BS Reinsdorf was spewing when he first got the team.
  4. Was Ellard injured at the end of the season? If not, surprised he retired. At the very least he probably could bounce around for a couple of years and bank a million or so.
  5. The way Schriffen spoke about this guy you would think there were multiple Cy Young’s in his future. No big loss, probably got crap back.
  6. Perhaps, but things were trending that way with KW and RH. Still need to hire the right people, and while there is no doubt anyone would be hamstrung with this owner, it’s Getz’s willingness to be a yes man that got him hired,
  7. They changed up the front office with a guy who was already there. Who according to you had nothing to do with the stink. He just sat there for years doing nothing. And he was hired so they wouldn’t waste a year. And they didn’t. They set a record for futility.
  8. The problem is we’ve recently heard it all before, and it has led from supposedly being in a championship window to one of the worst 3 season stretches in the history of the league. I don’t let it run my life, like it may have 20 years ago, but White Sox fans have every reason and right to be pissed off, and to think their favorite team is run by clowns.
  9. The record shows the White Sox have hired the wrong people. If they can lose 100 again in 2026 , which would be a 2 game improvement, they will be the first team in 90 years to lose at least 100 4 years in a row. All those bad organizations over the years haven’t been able to do it, but the Sox might. The fact that it doesn’t bother you makes you the meatball fan with extra sauce. You can go back through my posts, and you’ll see, I don’t really care what teams coaches come from. The Dodgers probably have some bad coaches in their organization, the Rockies probably have a couple of good ones. The fact that they keep going after KC guys is weird. They haven’t been very good for a long time. Even the last 2 years where it supposedly is turned around, is thanks to the White Sox. They are below .500 vs. everyone else.
  10. His whole argument is if you think the Sox are hiring the wrong people you’re just being a meatball fan. So far those meatballs are batting 1.000.
  11. Unfortunately, their hiring track record doesn’t bring confidence. I’m sorry if you think not buying what they are selling, having a show me don’t tell me attitude, not giving the White Sox any of the benefit of the doubt is meatballism to you, but buying everything that they are selling to me is akin to being in a cult. They lost 102 games 2 years after they were supposedly embarrassed they lost 101, and broke a record for losses in 2024. They made the GM hire because the owner said they couldn’t waste a year. So far pilfering the Royals coaching staff has lead to 324 losses in 3 years.
  12. Royalstalk is probably bitching they are hiring White Sox rejects. The most important thing needed to be considereed a really good hitting coach or pitching coach or manager is good players.
  13. I figured them for 5 wins this season. Lucky is nice. They will get some confidence. i think they only have 1 or 2 more wins left though. Get a decent draft pick and work on the defense.
  14. Exactly. It wasn’t too long ago Rick Hahn was the guy with all the correct answers and everything bad was someone else’s fault. Now no team will touch him.
  15. I am being serious, that is something to be proud of.
  16. The good news is they will be wearing jersey so you will be able to tell who the hell most of them are.
  17. If you want to give the assistant pitching coach credit for all of their successes why are we not blaming the White Sox current assistant pitching coach for the performances that got the guy above him fired? I hope he’s good, but face it, no one on this board has any idea, good or bad.
  18. I know they said they would, but I'm surprised they actually picked this up.
  19. I've pointed this out before. It's been several times. I also like how he calls a pop up to the SS a flly ball. Technically I guess it is, but nobody refers to it that way in professional baseball except him.
  20. Yeah, it probably the White Sox who say the Schriff has to take a break. I know I like the broadcast better. McKnight might not be the greatest but at least he gives the audience some credit for having a clue as to what is going on.
  21. Yeah, it’s pretty hopeless from a payroll perspective for a while. I just hope none of main guys goes backwards, although there is a decent chance a someone will.
