The White Sox need to add a lot of new fans, and also reactivate the many they have turned off. New ownership will help a lot. I dont think the stadium not being located south is a deal breaker. By the time they play there, they will be at least another one or 2 city connect concepts down the road. I was half joking about moving to NW Indiana, but it makes some sense for them if when the Bears ultimately commit to Arlington Heights, maybe Indiana makes a run at them. Their stadium is half the price.

Why doesn't JR turn to Indiana? Wolf Lake isnt very far from their fanbase and Indiana has no MLB team. Maybe they will build him a stadium.

If the public owes the Bears something, don't the Bears owe the public something? There are literally hundreds of companies in Chicago alone that generate more state tax than they do. I get it's a bit of a different business, but they still use the same rules. That said, I don't buy for a second the Bears will ever play a home game in Indiana.

Looks like at least one of the Ishbia's hates tanking, at least in the NBA. Hope they have the same attitude when JR hands over the keys. It's funny, when Beni added weight it was good news because it meant he could maybe hit homers again. Now losing said weight is good news because perhaps he can stay in the line up again. I cannot wait for his contract to expire. Maybe next year they will just eat it.

Chris Getz....he knows their names. a ringing endorsement. I don't think this is that big of a deal because the trade afterall was a salary dump first and foremost, but to think he didn't think this guy was a switch hitter is fooling yourself.

You could almost see it coming though. In 1989, they were over .500 after the All Star break and only 3 under the last 81 games. And everything seemed to go their way in 1990. It was a lot of fun.

What we are arguing is how much these hitting "geniuses" have to do with White Sox success. I think the numbers are pretty similar without them.

The article said they would identify free agents and trade targets to fix. Which free agent or trade target did they actually fix? Hitting is hard. Expecting someone who can easily fix players is absolutely crazy.

Was he better than you thought he would be? Did they fix him?

Slater was league average with a .299 OBP. Thaiss was alright but it was all based on walks. Vaughn improved significantly when he went elsewhere. Tyalor, Rojas, Palacios, Mead, Amaya, Maton ,Noda, Dalbec, Jankowski were just as awful or more awful than they ever were.

Interesting, but who did they fix? Pretty much everyone they brought in , except maybe Tauchman, did exactly as poor or worse than ever, and Tauchman was such a revaluation the Sox didn't even tender him a contract.

Which makes the case they gave him what he wanted last time, and he screwed up. Why at 90 years old would anyone think he can now get it right? Maybe Indiana will want them.

Probably like a 70s porn star with that mustache.

Hopefully he can be what he was the first time. Probably won't, but even if he does, his awfulness last year will keep his flip price really low.

Until Michael Jordan, the Bulls were the White Sox, drawing well when they were good, and drawing flies when they were not. Now they are the Cubs. As mediocre as can be, but still at or near the top in attendance even with ridiculous ticket prices. Maybe that happens to the White Sox once day, but the problem is JR. If you think the park is part of the problem, it was built how he wanted it, blue seats and all. It's far superior now that it was back then.

Just once Id like to be a fan of a team that spends money recklessly.
