His HR prowess has been incredible. It will be interesting to see where he winds up power wise, but if he's at 35-40 homers, a lot of other things can be mediocre at best and he still would be a pretty valuable player.

I think you can get him cheaper. Of course Siroka got $9 million so I'm probably wrong.

Very few major league catchers consistently put up those numbers. To think 2 on the same team will IMO isn’t realistic. But if they can, great.

The issue I have is it's hard to imagine Quero and Teel keeping their current pace, especially the OBP. Colson has been Aaron Judge. Hopefully, the average and OBP go up, but you have to figure he isn't going to keep up his current HR pace. Meidroth is a guy who could put up bigger numbers Personally, i believe the offense will go a little backwards, at least from what weve seen the last month, unless they sign or trade for some more offense, and that doesn't seem too likely. And I still won't believe they will pay Robert $20 million next year until they actually do.

Can Schriffen just stay on vacation? McKnight is much better.

I would feel much better about Baldwin as an OF if he could actually catch a flyball. He's dropped more than one. Reminds me of a more mobile Ron Kittle. Back in the day I read where Greg Luzinski of all people, played the role of Carnac, an old Johnny Carson bit where he gives the answer then opens an envelop with the question. The answer was Catch 22. The question was what would Ron Kittle do if you hit him 100 flyballs. I feel Baldwin is very similar with the leather.

The biggest problem with all his manufactured excitement is he knows very little about the White Sox. I bet before he interviewed for the job, he couldn’t name 5 guys on the roster. Now he’s supposedly a Bill Veeck expert, but last year he didn’t know how to pronounce his name. It really make all his exuberance seem even more insincere.

Even in Wrigleyille, those businesses make nothing off season. Goose Island used to have a place there but lost their lease. The landlord wanted to put them on a month to month, but they wouldn't do it because they would get screwed if he stopped it before or during baseball season, the only time they made money.

I find it hard to believe Houser doesn't go.

So unless he's Ohtani the rest of the season, JR is taking the buyout.

I understand the concept of picking up his option, but if they don't trade him and he's not spectacular the rest of the season, JR isn't picking it up. He doesn't like paying good players. He certainly isn't going to give $20 million to a question mark if he can easily avoid it.

If they can get what they got for Slater, that's a pretty big win for Getz overall.
