I think at this point, you buy him out. If you want to bring him back, givehim something similar to this year, maybe a little less since he couldn’t answer the bell. Who knows what this latest problem is. That could make it a no brainer.

Can't waste a year. I literally get multiple emails telling me to buy a 2026 season ticket package before it's too late.

9/16/25 Game Thread Orioles @ White Sox 6:40 PM
They prey much have , and would have had top 3 locked up. They almost would have had to win out to avoid it. And those odds are all the same for the most part.

9/13 Sox @ Guardians RIGHT NOW
I get they are playing much better than before, but the broadcasters seem to not realize they still have the worst record in the AL and second worst in baseball.

9/13 Sox @ Guardians RIGHT NOW
Schriffen just said Ramirez is looking to be the first in Cleveland to have 3 30 home run seasons. I believe Albert Belle accomplished that and then some.

He’s the one unifying subject on Soxtalk. Not even westeddy will defend this.

Robert’s Future
Maybe he was talking to Plesac and The Big Hurt about him.
-
Robert’s Future
It may have been the better path, but another big injury puts a roadblock on that path. He did play better before he got hurt. He is the teams most talented player. But……I’m probably a bigger Luis Robert fan than most here, but if they pick up his option, they are wasting their money.

Robert’s Future
Per Bob- MLB executives find it unfathomable that the White Sox will pick up Luis Roberts’ $20 million option after the season just so they can trade him next summer. Roberts is out for the season with a strained hamstring after yet another miserable year, and has missed 289 games the past five seasons. He will have virtually zero trade value this winter at $20 million. Do the White Sox really want to take the gamble he can stay healthy long enough next season to trade him, and eat most of his salary just to move him?

I’m tired of these types of posts
Last year they were talking about how great the clubhouse was….now this year when they started to win a few games, the clubhouse is so much better….I agree with the above. Winning usually means clubhouse is fine. If you’re losing 100 plus and trying to talk up your clubhouse, you obviously aren’t focused on what’s important.

I have no problem with it, it actually makes a ton of sense. As long as they pick the best one. They know them better than me, but I have to think Teel is the guy I would keep, but Quero should be worth a lot, even more than a month of Lucas Giolito. Even RH fell into a good one once in a while.

Robert’s Future
It is a talking point because bringing him back makes no sense. Another major leg injury. The only reason they would bring him back is for him to play better and they could get a couple of decent prospects for him. That's best case scenerio That would cost the White Sox at least another $10 million, if everything worked out. Why don't they let him go, and take that 10 million and try to buy a couple of middling prospects? At least as good of result, way less risk. Just because they didn't trade him in July is no reason to have to hold on to him now. To me, THAT is a fireable offense. But there have been many fireable offenses over the years that just came and went.

Robert’s Future
Yeah, that's what I meant. They were afraid the top of a rotation starter might accept for less than they will have to pay Robert.
-
Robert’s Future
This is the team that non tendered Carlos Rodon when they actually were contending. There is no way they pick up Robert now.

Colson Montgomery has arrived
His HR prowess has been incredible. It will be interesting to see where he winds up power wise, but if he's at 35-40 homers, a lot of other things can be mediocre at best and he still would be a pretty valuable player.

Martin Perez Option
I think you can get him cheaper. Of course Siroka got $9 million so I'm probably wrong.

Very few major league catchers consistently put up those numbers. To think 2 on the same team will IMO isn’t realistic. But if they can, great.

The issue I have is it's hard to imagine Quero and Teel keeping their current pace, especially the OBP. Colson has been Aaron Judge. Hopefully, the average and OBP go up, but you have to figure he isn't going to keep up his current HR pace. Meidroth is a guy who could put up bigger numbers Personally, i believe the offense will go a little backwards, at least from what weve seen the last month, unless they sign or trade for some more offense, and that doesn't seem too likely. And I still won't believe they will pay Robert $20 million next year until they actually do.
