  1. You might want to re read the press release. JR has ceded no power and won’t per the release for at least 5 years.
  2. It’s funny, he ran into trouble and wound up leaving the Cubs for telling the truth. Now he just spouts off made up crap, and because Schriffen is so over the top, it isn’t noticed as much.
  3. I don’t know how I would feel about McKnight as the full time PBP guy, but he clearly knows the game and his audience a lot better than Schriffen.
  4. Which makes sense, but the point is everyone who thought he was going to be a desired piece at the trade deadline was as wrong as KW, RH, and JR were about Pedro Grifol. It was a stupid trade. One that probably won’t matter anyway, but made little sense.
  5. He’s the guy Stone and Schriffen couldn’t emphasize enough how the Sox were going to run on. Watch how the tune changes if he puts on a White Sox uniform.
  6. When I was a kid , I was flying to see my best bud who had moved to Denver. His dad was a pilot, so I made 5 or 6 of these trips on stand by, and always wound up in first class. Once, I sat with Marlo Thomas when she was dating Phil Donahue and he had his show in Chicago. Phil was actually sitting in my seat when I boarded, talking with her.The rules were a bit more lax back then and i guess if you were famous they even let you on the plane to say goodbye. She was really sweet to me. She had 7 different types of apples she had me sampling.
  7. It’s just astonishing how the last core just fell apart. Abreu might be 45 years old so we can leave him out, but TA and Eloy are probably done with MLB. Vaughn and Madrigal are nothings. Moncada still seems to be able to hit, but certainly not at the level a top 2 or 3 overall prospect would hit, and he can’t stay on the field anyway. Robert can’t hit ,200.
  8. Venable said he isn’t in a slump. So he must be saying he just sucks. Schriffen says he has accepted “being the man”,
  9. I’d be careful with Tauchman. All those hammy issues. It would be awful if he had a relapse in the next couple of weeks. Still doesn’t seem to be running right.
  10. I know. I can’t stand him. I used to think he thought everyone was dumb and didn’t realize the team sucks. But now I’m convinced he’s dumb and has no idea a 100 plus loss team is horrible.
  11. So Schriffen makes some silly oooohhh noise about Smiths stuff and the next 2 guys take him deep.
  12. Each of them need to play. They need to send one down and call up Lee, or play one of them at 1B. That way if the one playing C gets hurt or sick or tossed, they won’t lose the DH.
  13. 85% of the people work, the other 15% come here. It’s a playground for those ***********. He actually was pretty accurate in his assessment. A friend of mine was friends with the guys that used to do the Shawn-o-meter, tracking Shawn Dunstons batting average. Then one day it disappeared. They got jobs. RIP. That rant made people laugh for over 40 years. I still giggle when I hear it.
  14. Might as well keep on trying with these types. Odds are, a year from now we all will have forgotten he existed.
  15. The biggest takeaway for me in these mostly meaningless games is Baldwin is playing Cf even with Taylor in the line up. I think we now know where the Sox envision him in the future.
  16. The Rockies in Colorado while he’s hot may be good for the confidence.
  17. What about that Vargas swing change? He's a stud.
  18. He's getting close to his high in innings. Probably has never had a workload like this. Hopefully it's just a wall he's hit and not the league figuring him out. 16 ER last 11 IP.
  19. If he could throw a strike he could be pretty good. But that’s not going to happen.
  20. He's hitting over .400 in Charlotte. Time to call him up. I'm kidding, just cautioning a couple of good games doesn't mean someone is fixed.
  21. What about Amaya? He's raking.
