  1. Slater very well may be a better player than Colas, but why should that matter? Of the 2, there is only one that potentially can help them when and if they are ever good again. Colas was a top 100 prospect. Struggled initially. Played dumb, but played hard, and for some reason, ever since, the White Sox f*** with him. Either give him a shot or release him. It makes no sense doing to him what they are doing. If he has a bad attitude, why are you letting your other prospects be exposed to it.
  2. The interesting thing was i was watching a bit of the breakout game yesterday and they had Getz on. Getz seemed to imply that the opening day starter is his call.
  3. I'm glad they gave it to a guy who may have a future with the team rather than a re-tread who will be gone at the end of the season at the latest.
  4. Well I guess I’m a bad fan because I will not go to games until they start trying to win. On the other hand, if going to games makes you a good fan, I’ve gone to well over 1000 so I’m probably a better fan than anyone here. I still watch the games, but am not engaged like I was. Hopefully, someday I will again. I love baseball and the White Sox, but have had enough of the total incompetence. I’ve been a fan my whole life. Had season tickets since the last year at the old park. Having to be good was never a requirement. I saw plenty of bad White Sox teams. This downward turn was very different though, and they have lost me until they fix it.
  5. I’m normally against the manipulation, but why not here? A month of cold weather games. Even the Sox road trips are to cold places. IMO, spring training stats are useless, but the team is not trying to win so why not hold it against him? It’s also true he has nothing more to prove in AAA, but so what? If he somehow develops into a really good player, no matter who owns the team at the time will be happy with the extra year of control. Call him up in a month and let him play.
  6. Which one Bailey Horn or Cash Considerations?
  7. Might be stretching it a bit calling what they play baseball.
  8. Enjoy them having a couple of good games but spring training stats mean zip.
  9. And if JR didn’t get the White Sox, he wouldn’t have gotten the Bulls. He got them through Steinbrenner who was a co owner.
  10. Grady Jarrett is a Bear. Clearly they want the RB at 10. Probably will trade down if he is gone.
  11. I think a new owner would be like drafting a QB 1-1. It would excite the fanbase tremendously, and would probably increase attendance immediately. There would be a "youre not jerry Reinsdorf" party for a couple of seasons at least. Eventually the honeymoon ends, so hopefully Ishbia is more Peyton Manning than Mitch Trubisky.
  12. In a way, I would rather have these guys have this surgery now before they are any good then when we are counting on them. Hopefully, they come back better than before, like the $6 million man.
  13. Exactly. There will probably be a few more the next several months.
  14. I would predict an L. I said it last year, I'll say it this year. There is no reason to ever throw Luis Robert a strike with this line up. And you know he will swing at many of them anyway.
  15. Just remember, Bobs source is JR. So he is going to say what JR wants him to say.
  16. It's nice, but the biggest advantage of Hell is you get to root for teams owned by Jerry Reinsdorf.
  17. If Iriarte is going to be very good, unless he learns to throw strikes, it will be with the Chicago Dogs.
  18. Pitchers do consider it an honor, and I'm with you, why not give it to someone who might be with you for a while?
  19. Of course they know their percentage. They don't know the others. They don't need to know the others. Only JR knows. You probably own stock. Do you know who owns what? There was a huge article about White Sox ownership in the Tribune around 10 years ago. They spoke to several investors who knew what they owned and not much more, but Jerry has made them a lot of money so they couldn't care less.
  20. I doubt it. We didn’t know he bought them before. We have no idea how much Reinsdorfs sons bought. We don’t know how much Melody Hobson has or even if she still has them. Considering he already owns shares, if he needs more approval, I’m sure it’s a formality.
  21. That the shares that he bought will be made public. They never have before. One thing that could at least show something significant has developed, is if they put Ishbia on the board. No one has been added to the board since it was created. Only deleted by death. But I suspect he won’t be put on the board. I also think how ever many shares he was able to buy now, he will be the managing owner of the White Sox one day, hopefully soon.
