  1. Miller was the #10 prospect in baseball. Yet your other post said he was a bad draft pick. Your batting average this thread might get you a spot in the White Sox line up. All these terrible GMS, yet they never were able to accomplish what Getz was able to accomplish in year 1. 121.
  2. Funny you mention Andrew Miller. He was traded for Miguel Cabrera, another 1st ballot HOFer. jacob Turner got them a couple of players who had nice seasons as Tigers.
  3. His prize for being bad was Justin Verlander. The Sox get the 10th pick. Nice plan.
  4. name one. And lets face it, the 2020 playoff appearance was a farce. They expanded the playoffs that year, and at the time, 60 games into the season, the Sox were down to 2 starters. Anything resembling a real season, they were likely going to miss the playoffs. But it was a turnaround year.
  5. it says something about both.
  6. Ask yourself iis there another MLB team that would hire Chris Getz to be its GM? I think the answer is no. Maybe I'm way wrong, but I really doubt it.
  7. Larry Himes built a team that won 94 games with the lowest payroll in baseball. He was fired after the season ended.
  8. Drury will sign with someone, maybe even the White Sox after he heals.
  9. I don't think there is one poster that has ever posted the White Sox being this bad has nothing to to with the previous regime. That would be insane, just as insane as it would be to say this is all on the previous regime, except for Chris Getz, who last i looked, happened to be part of said regime.
  10. Wasn't the White Sox farm system ranked top 5 when Getz was in charge? How did that turn out? You can't separate it. Apparently a lot of people thought there was a lot of talent in the Sox system, and they weren't developed. Now, we are supposed to believe this clown will develop them? I really don't get your point.
  11. What do you think, besides Seby Zavala, his successes were in his previous roles?
  12. I agree with this. They will always be playing catch up instead of innovating.
  13. It will all boil down to getting better players. Hopefully these prospects are better players, but we were all fooled by that before. The guy calling the shots is the same guy "developing" Moncada and Kopech and Eloy and all the rest, albeit at the backend of their develpments, but we also have a couple of those as well. The Cease trade doesn't seem so great now. That can change, but Thorpe gets service time not to play. Hopefully the Crochet trade works out. Hopefully what they get for Robert actually can play. Hopefully being fired by the Orioles doesn't mean you aren't a hitting guru. To me the grade is incomplete, but if I had to give a real grade, it would be F+. Not a total fail as there still is some potential, but these guys have to perform. I still think he was the wrong man for the job.
  14. That Boyer quote that many fans think what happens on the field is the most important thing really chaps my ass.
  15. Injuries are going to happen. Before the White Sox are good again, there's a decent chance bigger names wind up under the knife. Hopefully they recover and become good MLB pitchers.
  16. Competitive baseball players often develop painful bone spurs in the elbow. The spurs compromise ability to throw and is often treated with arthroscopic surgery to remove them. Most players experience an encouraging initial recovery with return to high level throwing. However, a large percentage of players will go on to develop symptomatic tears of their medial collateral ligament (MCL) and require Tommy John Surgery to continue throwing at a high level.
  17. Slater very well may be a better player than Colas, but why should that matter? Of the 2, there is only one that potentially can help them when and if they are ever good again. Colas was a top 100 prospect. Struggled initially. Played dumb, but played hard, and for some reason, ever since, the White Sox f*** with him. Either give him a shot or release him. It makes no sense doing to him what they are doing. If he has a bad attitude, why are you letting your other prospects be exposed to it.
  18. The interesting thing was i was watching a bit of the breakout game yesterday and they had Getz on. Getz seemed to imply that the opening day starter is his call.
  19. I'm glad they gave it to a guy who may have a future with the team rather than a re-tread who will be gone at the end of the season at the latest.
  20. Well I guess I’m a bad fan because I will not go to games until they start trying to win. On the other hand, if going to games makes you a good fan, I’ve gone to well over 1000 so I’m probably a better fan than anyone here. I still watch the games, but am not engaged like I was. Hopefully, someday I will again. I love baseball and the White Sox, but have had enough of the total incompetence. I’ve been a fan my whole life. Had season tickets since the last year at the old park. Having to be good was never a requirement. I saw plenty of bad White Sox teams. This downward turn was very different though, and they have lost me until they fix it.
  21. I’m normally against the manipulation, but why not here? A month of cold weather games. Even the Sox road trips are to cold places. IMO, spring training stats are useless, but the team is not trying to win so why not hold it against him? It’s also true he has nothing more to prove in AAA, but so what? If he somehow develops into a really good player, no matter who owns the team at the time will be happy with the extra year of control. Call him up in a month and let him play.
  22. Which one Bailey Horn or Cash Considerations?
