  1. First ballot unanimous.
  2. The Bulls have to be fairly close. Their goal is NBA hell.
  3. Eddy has told us there is no one off the board that the Sox would have been interested in.
  4. I'm really starting to believe you are John Schriffen.
  5. There was a huge question and Getz just admitted it. He's going to get active now becuase he has money to spend. Why, because Robert is gone. If they knew he would be gone, they could have become active long ago.
  6. I think if Tucker signed with the Mets, the Mets wouldn't have traded for Robert. Now what other team would have taken even $18 million of his contract? Chances are, whoever they get from here on out this offseason, there will be some wastes of money.
  7. I understand that. My point is the option shouldn't have been picked up in the first place. Sure, they would have $2 million less in their checking account, but if they now can spend money, a far larger pool of players to target, and not having to worry about dumping the contract, would have been available this winter. And Getz wouldn't have had to lie to White Sox fans about the team's desire to have Robert patrolling CF in 2026.
  8. And again, if Kyle Tucker signs with the Mets, Robert is still a White Sox. Not to mention Getz now says they can get aggressive. Perhaps they wanted no one off the board at this time, but I doubt it. Risking $20 million for a potential $2 million in savings wouldn't be a risk I thought was worth it.
  9. That's like saying, I got wasted and drive 10 miles home and make it with no accident or getting pulled over. I saved Uber fare. I won.
  10. I really have no problem with the trade, What was insane was picking up Robert's option in the first place if the best you can do is what they did. If Tucker signs with the Mets, Luis Robert is doing exactly what you said would be insane.I'm thinking the Mets and Dodgers are probably the only teams in baseball that would take Robert without the Sox either eating money or taking a lot back. And from Getz's comments today, Robert's contract has hamstrung them all winter.
  11. Say last june, Chris Getz decided to do something more his speed and become a ski instructor leaving the White Sox GM job open and JR to have to actually interview candidates. You have an interview and he asks what you would do with Robert. You say you would have to pick up his option, you may be able to get Luisangel Acuna for him. JR later looks him up in BR. I'm guessing you wouldn't get another interview.
  12. He has to go get the Big Reins his calzone.
  13. Now they add Conforto and Schriffen will start talking playoffs.
  14. It worked out that way because Kyle Tucker went to the Dodgers. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work. You gambled $20 million and the prize was Luisangel Acuna. The White Sox show why they are a horrible organization every day.
  15. I guess Getz was lying when he stated on multiple occasions just how much the White Sox wanted Robert to be their CF. I guess the opportunity to acquire Acuna with little power, low OBP and the ability to play 2B was too good to pass up.
  16. Betting $20 million to win $2 million usually isn't a great strategy.
  17. The White Sox can't think too much of Pauley. He threw 4 innings after they passed him up 12 times.
  18. He’s fast.
  19. So this was the package in which Getz was holding out, At least he got his guy that can play second base. Again, I don’t understand picking up an option if you are just going to salary dump it before you even play another game.. The while thing was dumb. I will say, Robert not having to be the obvious star of the team might be good for him, but chances are he will still miss 40 games. The Sox were going to be bad with Robert. Now they will be a little worse, but with $20 million off the books, JR probably has already locked in a profit. Bravo.
  20. I never really understood his option being picked up. There are enough health and performance questions and the salary is large enough for enough teams where even if he shines, it’s a pennies on the dollar return. And if they keep him and he rakes, it won’t mean a playoff spot. Even though I am probably one of the biggest fans of his talent, this seams like a total waste of money, which is usually business as usual for White Sox off season acquisitions, just not $20 million a year.i can’t see them trading him now, they would have to eat money for mediocre prospects. Maybe he plays well enough to make them at least interesting to watch.
  21. On this day in 2026, in a franchise altering move, the White Sox signed Ryan Borucki.
  22. Doing everything he can to help the White Sox win is nice. And he will do that by playing in Charlotte.
  23. Schriffen will love him.
  24. A Bears playoff victory in a dome in Hammond would be louder.
  25. They would gain a bit more than Illinois, as they would have 50k-70k people spending their money many Sundays a year in IN that normally wouldn't. In IL, no difference between spending it in Chicago or Arlington Heights. It wouldn't be enough to come close to offestting the cost of building the stadium the Bears want and maintaining it, but still something.
