I was at the game in 93 when MJ threw out the first pitch and the place was nuts. Later, the Sox got smoked and MJ retiring was making the rounds.

Maybe Ja Rule finally made it to town.

Of course he can fail, but we've watched a team in the 3rd largest city in the country be run like the Pittsburgh Pirates for more than 40 years. Change is good.

It makes no sense. The White Sox would have to build their stadium, and then the Bears could build theirs. Way too drawn out. They are going to AH.

All I know is there has never been an MLB season where the White Sox won a postseason series, and didn't win it all.

The tragedy here is this guy buys his own land and wants to build his own stadium. We need to get back to the JR way when taxpayers pay for his stadium he designs, and then says he needs another one because the one that was built for him using his specs and virtually rent free, won't allow him to consistently compete with the Kansas City Royals.

MLB is so messed up. The Sox and Cubs are in the playoffs and on regular TV in Chicago, you can watch every playoff game except theirs.

How will you know a 4-4 game in the 4th inning is far from over. Or a flyball to left field is caught by the SS on the infield dirt.

It's kind of weird with Frank how the organization seems to hate him. KW let him have it back in the day. I used to go to at least one road series a year, and several times I stayed at the team hotel. With the fans, there was no player better than Frank. He signed every autograph. Smiled and was pleasant with everyone. Took pictures with everyone. Usually if the front office hates you, your fan interaction is probably horrible. But for a 1st ballot HOFer, his was always outstanding from what I saw.

As long as the team is good, I can put up with any announcer. But when they were bad, I watched less White Sox baseball than ever before, and some of it was because I didn't want to hear the Schriff trying to blow smoke up my ass.

I think Lips friend's JR comment about the Schriff not being a baseball guy is pretty telling as well. And it begs the question, how , in a media market as big as Chicago, do you not have a baseball guy calling games for your baseball team? I guess he works really cheap. He's probably great at slam ball. They could have him call the Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest; he would excel.

Each of the last 2 seasons, Brooks Boyer made it a point to say the Schriff would return. This year crickets. He gone.Get out! Yeah buddy.

I think he has improved as well, but still in over his head. You would probably have to sign him for multiple years. That isn’t attractive to me. I hope they move on. He does appear to be a nice guy.

The Schriff telling Stone the last 3 years with him had been a blast might mean we have heard his last White Sox broadcast.

I hope they win the division, but this is pretty amazing.

Congratulations to Kolson for tying the MLB record. One more and its all yours.

He needs to work on things, but he's a SS that hits 30 homers, and until recently had been a pretty decent defender. I think trading him now is selling low. Keep him and see if he can make some fixes. If not, the team has a pretty decent cupboard of SS in the minor leagues.

The 1987 World Champion Twins won 85 games. The 2006 World Champion Cardinals won 83 games. the White Sox, if they make the playoffs, have nothing to apologize for.
