  1. That was a wild pitch. But...... Steve Stone
  2. I think he wants to win, but his way, and that way doesn't work anymore. Managers make next to nothing. He can't be afraid of eating money. If the guy can't do the job, you are sabotaging more games.
  3. There is not one team in professional sports that would have kept Pedro after a season like that where they thought they were a Championship quality team, except the one we pay attention to.
  4. If there's an ounce of truth to this, JR doesn't care about winning. According to Bob, there's a decent chance Pedro only makes 6 figures. If you can't or aren't willing to pay less than $2 million for him to stop hurting your team, you don't care about winning.
  5. Think about it, no one has been this inept for 20 years, and they are trying to spin it as it's just a streak all teams go through. It's obnoxious.
  6. I think Jirschele would be perfect. Young guy, let him make some mistakes when they are bad. If he's half as good as they hoped he would be, he should be ready to be really good when the team at least might win games regularly.
  7. I think an internal hire would love the job. And you can look good pretty quick even if you lose 90 games. You are replacing 62-110 who says nonsensical things before and after every loss. I can't see Ozzie wanting it, or AJ if there doesn't appear to be a chance to be any good, but anyone at this point is better than Pedro.
  8. The last team to score this few runs their first 10 games were the 2004 Montreal Expos. They turned it around and only lost 95 that year.
  9. Do Getz and Pedro like this team? They can ask Pedro after Getz answers.
  10. Somewhere Rick Hahn and KW are probably chuckling over this start. But really, they should be embarrassed. They still have plenty of blame.
  11. Thee ridiculousness of the teams stance that they are not awful just going through a streak all teams go through is hilarious.
  12. 3 run explosion yesterday. Pedro isn't messing around.
  13. If they ever really considered it, if he wants to do it, now is the time. If somehow he turns it around a bit, great. If the continue to suck this bad, he will never want to manage again.
  14. You're probably right, but at least you won't hear and read Pedro's embarrassing takes after every loss. And it is a step in righting the ship. Fire the dope.
  15. Either he is the dumbest person in the room and doesn't understand what has happened since he came to town, or just thinks people will ignore facts and live in his fake reality. He really needs to go. He serves no purpose but to make the team a bigger punchline than they already are.
  16. The Royals proved Getz correct. Now we all know why he wants to be like them.
  17. He makes $20 million this year and $22 million next year, and would have cost prospects. The Sox don't need him. You finally make some sense in wanting Grifol fired. There isn't another team in baseball who thought they were handing him a playoff contender, and then lose 101 gamed, that would have brought him back.
  18. Well hit out to left? That's a few of those this season.
  19. They aren't smoking the ball but it at least appears they have a game plan.
  20. Someone needs to tell John, Yoan has sported thee neon every game so far.
  21. They should leave it alone. Saves JR money and they can blame injuries as the reason they suck. Just because they get hurt almost every season , people should be shocked Eloy and Robert got hurt. They should be shocked in the upcoming days when Moncada swings and has an awkward finish and is in pain. They should be more shocked when Crochet can’t pitch because of elbow or shoulder soreness. JRs ways don’t work anymore. As long as he owns the team, and that could be for another decade, I know he’s 88; but he seems to be doing pretty well physically, they might have a decent season or two, but nothing sustained. You can’t sustain it when you don’t develop players and won’t go crazy on payroll. They really weren’t buying the BS they were trying to sell that they were a lot better than the prognosticators thought, were they? I do not wish death on JR. In fact, I wish him good health. I just wish he would see the business has passed him by, he can get out, and even with the additional capital gains tax, leave his heirs more than they ever will need.
  22. He’s an internet tough guy who rarely has any baseball content in his posts. He probably works in a mail room thinking he should be CEO. He comes here to critique posts. How dare any Sox fan come to a Sox message board and complain just because a team has won 62 of its last 170 games in what was promised to be a championship window.
