  2. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:40 AM) i want ozzie gone but im just not like everyone else, blaming every single sox problem on him, like dunn I don't know that anyone is really blaming Dunn's failures on Ozzie. It's being used as a counter-point to the pro-Ozzie arguments that absolve him of all responsibility for a player's performance.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Yeah, this every score is reviewed thing is kinda bulls*** since it's not happening. However, they would have wound up scoring anyway and the Bears just would have had less time to run Jay out there to get killed. that was pretty ridiculous, half of his foot was over the line. They may have been held to a FG, but it wouldn't have mattered.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) There's a big difference in how the O and D lines perform between a run call and a pass call though. If everything is passes, then the O Line is always moving backwards and the D line never has to think about anything other than getting after the QB as quick as possible. On a run, the O-line is moving forwards or side to side, and the D Line can't just go after the QB, they have to keep gaps from opening between them. Oh I know, that was really just another way to insult how bad the offense, and the WR/OL group in particular, was.
  5. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) I did... I don't think you got mine. baseless assertions? No, we've picked up on that.
  6. Well to be fair Forte was the target of close to 50% of the passes, since dumping it off to the HB over the middle for 5-10 yards was the only thing open or quick enough before Jay got killed.
  7. Park Correction Factors, 2011 Seems like a pretty mixed bag of hitters v pitchers and which teams are good
  8. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) I agree.. I don't think you got the point of my post.
  9. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:26 AM) No.. he would have won the CY in 2010, if it wasn't for those pesky stats. Uh he was 4th in voting for the Cy Young the year after he left, you might want to drop that argument: both because of the fact that he had a phenomenal 2009 and because "winning the Cy Young" isn't the only way for a player to be better, so it's just a dumb argument anyway.
  10. The board might not be running a new enough version of IPB
  11. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:25 AM) You know admitting you're wrong, would go a long way here... "pitchers parks win championships"
  12. Javy had two mediocre seasons and one good season here. He had a fantastic season in 2009 after leaving the White Sox and then two mediocre seasons after that. that's probably a wash.
  13. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) So only the teams that come out guns blazing are winners? That's a pretty interesting dichotomy you've made up there. No, teams that always come out playing flat that also happen to follow the manager's philosophy of taking it easy on vets during ST and not pushing the team to get ready probably don't have the best approach and dig themselves into a big hole because of it.
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:10 AM) pretty much, look at dye.
  15. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:03 AM) And I Agree with him, if you have been in the league, ink a big money deal.. You should know what you need to do to get ready for the season. Evidenced by the fact that this team comes out of the gate flat perennially, maybe he's wrong?
  16. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:05 AM) Nice find, and if that is the case.. I blame Kenny.. if a player is on the decline, and you ink him to a huge $ 4 year deal.. What player is going to go nope, I really don't deserve it. Then for the fans, the easy scapegoat is the manager. Its true, once a player who has been consistent for the better part of a decade has one bad part of a season, he's "on the decline" and should never be signed to a big money contract again.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 08:48 AM) Hey victory is there anything Ozzie could ever do or not do that would cause you to think he's not a good manager?

  19. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 11:08 AM) It's great because it works on so many levels! or because it distills all political cartoonery down to its true essence, its purest form.

    2011 TV Thread

    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) It was an oddly self-referential episode, which is really out of character for the show. Either way, I thought it was a terrible episode. Perhaps it will grow on me with extra viewings. I didn't think it was terrible but it was flat and makes me wonder if they're just running out of ideas. The limo scene was just stupid imo.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 08:26 AM) I still will defend the roster construction some, but I have to look at playcalling here. This is just an inexcusable stat. Martz ran less than he did in the worst of the worst games for his Kutler-cilling efforts last year. Brad Biggs also pointed out on M&H this morning that the play-calling was still lopsided 3-1 when the Bears were down by 3 in the third quarter.
