  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 07:14 PM) What are you talking about? You agree he's staying in Cleveland but don't like my reasons? I would say he's more likely to stay in Cleveland than go elsewhere. I think your reasons are completely ridiculous and completely unsupported. Emotional decision/ it's his home town. and has been pointed out to you again and again, that's just flat-out wrong. Period. This is why I don't like your reasons. There's not really a rivalry there. It wouldn't be any more of a letdown for him to go to NY or Miami. But I never disagreed that he doesn't want to s*** on Cleveland. And who else? He needs support and he doesn't really have any there. Hey greg, try to actually support your arguments, ok? Why is the Cleveland roster comparable to the Chicago, Miami or NY roster?
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) I'm not saying being in a big market doesn't matter but originally we were talking about LeBron and New York (I thought) and it was kind of all over the place. greg was trying to say he'd make just as much if not more money in Cleveland over Chicago and New York.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) Strange Sox ... why would he have a better chance to win it with the Bulls than Cleveland? Rose? You overestimate Rose. Rose, Noah, Boozer, Deng plus the rest of the supporting cast is a far better roster than what Cleveland has. Probably not, but not because of the ridiculous arguments you're making. Why is Chicago so much more insulting to Cleveland than NY or Miami? Yeah, if he manages to do that, he'll be a hero in Cleveland. No one is denying that. I'll be surprised if he doesn't stay in Cleveland. But it's not because they have the better roster or he can make just as much if not more money there. Why? Lakers fans never loved anyone after their runs? Celtics fans don't embrace their current crew because of what happens decades ago? You are not making any sense. You just keep saying the same crap over and over without actually supporting any of it.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Well I thought we were talking about how bigger markets can make LeBron more money, not the other players. Hence my confusion I guess. It will make Lebron more money. Chicago Bulls are an international brand (thanks to MJ). A new Bulls superstar gets to ride on that brand instead of creating one from scratch in Cleveland or Miami. How much attention (read: endorsement $$$$$$) do you think Jeter would get if he played on a small-market team instead of the Yankees? Hell, even if he's on the Red Sox, he probably gets millions less in endorsements.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Hey, so, i'm just throwing this out there since we have a day. How do you guys feel about this max contract + salary cap NBA deal. Seems stupid to me, just put a salary cap and that's that. It seems to have created a whole lot of convoluted bulls*** but I don't know what good it's done.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) He's going to make just as much or more money in Cleveland. He's not leaving Cleveland. You keep saying that, but there's absolutely no reason to believe that.
  7. The Bulls have international recognition thanks to MJ. At least I think that's what he means.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) Yeah, I actually don't know if I buy the whole "market" idea, LeBron is going to be able to make a ton off endorsements wherever he goes. He's going to make a ton of money no matter what. But it's undeniable that going to Chicago or New York gives him access to a much larger fan base and a much larger local market. There will be millions more people interested in buying Lebron jerseys, shoes, haircare/beverage/food/etc products he's selling if he's on the Knicks as opposed to the Cavs.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Cleveland is his home. But they don't have a good roster and he likely can't win there. If winning is that important to him, CHI, NY or MIA make more sense. Which is a bigger market with more fans: Cleveland or Chicago? Cleveland or NY? You're just acting stupid if you don't think there's a difference there. He'll be hated by Cleveland if he goes anywhere. I think he'll *probably* stick around Cleveland. But your "arguments" here are worse than your Dweezy rationale.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) Cleveland has everything he needs. New York makes no sense basketball wise. If he wants to win NOW it should be Miami for a couple years. But there's no way in hell Chicago has a chance. makes no sense for him to be a Bull. None. What, exactly, does Cleveland have that NY, Chi or Miami don't? Certainly not a better roster or better money-making potential.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Why would he leave Cleveland? You answered your own question! But anyway, NY Market>>>Chicago Market>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cleveland market. He'd make more basketball salary in Cleveland, but he'd make much less in endorsement and such.
  12. Not a whole lot of boozer talk until the last ten pages or so. mostly just a bunch of meltdowns over the bulls not getting anyone.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) Nobody should participate in the derby? Why take it so seriously? Let him go hack in the Derby. He probably tries to hit home runs during BP every day. These hitters know what they are doing. Statistics, greg. Statistics.
  14. The odds of a Wade/Lebron/Bosh team not winning any championships (with them remaining healthy) would have to be ridiculously low.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) Where's the oil?! QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) Oh and by the way..."WHERE'S THE OIL!!!"
  16. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 12:15 PM) They said on 670 that LeBron is flying tonight to Miami to have dinner with Wade and Bosh....could me something could mean nothing. They were making fun of the (miami?) Herald for printing completely unsubstantiated rumors and asked "is this what the media has become?" or something along those lines.
  17. Went to bed with it 1-1 and was expecting a loss this morning. Very pleasantly surprised.
  18. You'll learn about Calvanism instead. Much more important to US History! but I'm pretty sure they did end up putting Jefferson back in.
  19. close sources report via twitter that Peavy had a brain aneurysm and is going to Miami with Wade, done deal.
  20. Peavy lifts his arm up and moves his glove towards his side, near his armpit. He didn't appear to grab for his elbow or anywhere on his arm.
  21. someone should throw together a tracker showing all the bulls*** that's been thrown against the wall for the last two weeks. So many guarantees and "done deals" from "close sources".

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:28 AM) Ingloriuous Bastards proved that QT still sucks at making movies (Resevoir Dogs being his last good one). Decent idea, style was all over the place, pacing was all over the place, crappy ending, and 30 minutes longer than it needed to be. Just bad. IB proved that QT can still make some badass movies. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) I've got the movie netflixed. I thought the book was solid, but it didn't really go anywhere. I'm hoping the movie will bring out a little more emotion. I think that was sort of the point. Soul-crushing dread and hopelessness. edit: basically the book made me feel awful the entire time I was reading it, and I think that was what McCarthy was going after. Reading it in the dead of winter helped add to the feeling of the book, too. Book > movie, but it was still a solid movie. I was pleasantly surprised given how much the book is driven by internal dialog.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) Thanks for that, its ridiculous when they show all the pitches coming at you at once. A shotgun blast of baseballs.
