  1. Bah, you picked probably the lamest Foo Fighters song to link to.
  2. Yeah that post was too ridiculous to even address.
  3. Not today, but I'll be in tomorrow and probably Saturday and Sunday as well.
  4. it's ok to break congress if it suits your politics, i guess.
  5. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) Well for one, some people think that scientists somehow need to be 100% certain about the issue before taking even the most anemic steps. Of course it's impossible to be certain about climate change as it is about most things. You either take political action or not. Two, any government intervention is bad to some people. Hence, only the invisible hand of the market should control this. Of course these people ignore that government intervention reduced ozone damaging emissions. Successfully and with little economic disturbance. Three, some complete idiots think that scientists are somehow acting in a conspiratorial way with an end to transferring large amounts of money from business to government. These people are bonkers in general. I think it's normal to be skeptical. I am skeptical. I'm skeptical about most things. I'm not a scientist and I'm not a climate scientist. I've got to make common sense decisions. Pumping endlessly increasing amounts of crap into the air is bad. It may have helped give us a quality of living unseen before, but everything comes to an end. Hilariously, they point to the ozone hole or acid rain as examples of 'over-hyped' environmental issues that nothing ever came of. It's really sort of sad.
  6. Except some times they are, like in this case, because Republicans have taken this tactic into overdrive. Stop playing the "everything is always equal, therefore all criticism is invalid" card.
  7. The demarcation problem is an issue science philosophers have struggled with for decades/ centuries. I'd tend to say that, no, it isn't "science" in the way that biology, physics, chemistry etc. are. Too much guesswork, too little objectively, externally verifiable predictions and models.
  8. i've come to believe more and more lately that most people simply do not know how to think. They don't know how to construct or dissect a valid, logical argument. they can't recognize debate from demagougary. opinion shows are news shows for them because they don't know the difference. The idea of everything having a false dichotomy or equal merit of both/ all arguments and it's just a matter of opinion is the most prominent example.
  9. some of you are football retarded to borrow a phrase from b&b.
  10. Best game of the year but Cutler was still hit and hurried a ton.
  11. Maybe he expects them to give up the TD anyway so better to save the TO.
  12. Another receiver runs a bad route and at least aids in an interception.
  13. What Bob said^ Single player campaigns are an afterthought in a lot of today's games. Even when their is a story mode or campaign, online co-op is a big component driving it.

Saw Zombieland last night. I was glad I waited long enough to forget about the cameo appearance so it was a nice surprise. Great movie overall.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 10:43 AM) Seasonally adjusted, from what I saw. Also, given the economy, I doubt many places are already taking on new staff for the holidays. I think the number is more reflective of companies having laid off a bunch, or not hired for open positions, and doing so long enough, they realize they really need some things done. They just don't want to gamble on the future, so they go temp, for now. The company I just started working for a week and a half ago is adding staff this way. They've tripled their staff in a matter of months but most of us are on 6 month contracts. They have crazy amounts of work right now but can't guarantee anything 6 months out.
  16. Let's just hope that Cutler can somehow manage to make this game entertaining.
  17. Is it worse to have the Cardinals score four times in a row or the Bengals score 5 times in a row in the first half? These are the difficult questions that the Bears defense must answer. Oh and to add insult to injury the only decent secondary player is down and Afalava is out as well.
  18. Oh my god that was a terrible play. Arizona didn't know what they were doing in the backfield and turn it into a 25 yard play.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 8, 2009 -> 01:05 PM) This is the worst defensive performance I can ever recall by the Bears. How quickly we forget Carson Palmer and the Bengals, eh?
  20. LOL. Time for me to consider going out and enjoying the weather instead of watching this garbage.
  21. HOW DO YOU LEAVE FITZGERALD THAT OPEN AT THE GOAL LINE?
