  1. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) I've NEVER seen a poster post that unless someone scored against US, lol. It was meant to be a bizarro-soxtalk post
  2. f*** the Twins for not acknowledging the accomplishment.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) so now does ESPN start running the ticker? its on their MLB page.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) Has Hawk realized it yet? Both broadcast teams were tlaking about it from the 1st.
  5. Cyclists in Woodridge dont'. Nice bike path all the way down Woodward. They're always on the street. I'm talking about the "weekend road racer" type of rider, the kind with the full uniform and everything. Not a family out for a ride.
  6. Why don't cyclists use the really nice, brand-new bike paths along busy roads?
  7. That does change the discrepancy. I wonder if there's a transcript of that.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) Which we have all now read. What is your point? The cop's story doesn't match reality unless the 911 operator lied to him.
  9. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Yes, because of my anecdotal first hand experience with the VA, I think it sucks. I don't need a poll to know what I saw, to know how things were handled. That is what we call a "hasty generalization," which is a logical fallacy. You're taking a very small subset that can come under a lot of confirmation bias and generalizing it to a nationwide system with millions of people. That's why arguments via anecdotes don't work.
  10. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) So you need a poll that must not have questioned all of the veterans throughout the US that say how sucktastic the VA system is in order to be taken as fact? I need statistical data, not anecdotes. Anecdote != data or evidence.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) I did support my assertion that the VA sucks...and it was dismissed. I can see you didn't even read it. My point prooven. Polls=unreliable, easily manipulated, victims of bias Anecdotes=airtight proof of a prior conclusions
  12. Assertions without supporting data don't mean much. edit: and anecdotes aren't supporting data. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anecdotal_evi...nd_faulty_logic
