  1. It would be really nice to take the lead this inning.
  2. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:54 PM) we're in a dome... And Kazmir was pretty bad..
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:52 PM) The bunt did its job; OC got owned again moving him to third and Swish pulled a Wise. The bunt didn't do its job. It moved a runner to second, but he wasn't in scoring position really, and it gave up an out.
  4. More LOB. Come on, this game is easily winnable for them if they'd get their heads out of their asses and start hitting those mistakes left over the plate.
  5. Ugh. Uribe is so, so terrible at the plate most of the time.
  6. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:19 PM) Holy cow do you guys have emotional disorders or something. You change your mind way too easily on how you feel about a player. Welcome to SoxTalk game threads.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:17 PM) To not send Cabrera on that base hit is inexcusable. I don't understand this baseball team. He would have been out by 10+ steps. YES! THOME!
  8. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) Lucky bastage.... We may not get huge bonuses, but I get some great lower box seats a few times a year, and I got a free ticket to one of the Cubs-Sox games and I'll be getting paid to go to the game in the afternoon.
  9. My boss just called me with an extra ticket to Monday's game! Woohoo!
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Can't let him off the hook and build confidence. Just about to post that thought
  11. The fact that this thing is passing because it has more pork than a pig farm tells you how wonderful our Congress is. I will not be voting for a single incumbent.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) Lol, I love how you post stats that show for the last 3 months Obama's lead in overall polls has stayed consistent (anywhere from 4-7%) and the electoral map has stayed roughly the same (except for the bump for mccain after the RNC). I see nothing in those first to links that show Obama "seperating" from McCain. Again, I'm not saying Obama won't win, or that he won't win easily. I just feel it's a little premature to concede the election in the first week of October. Look at recent history in elections - polls and surveys aren't exactly accurate come election day. There's a current trend of Obama pulling away from McCain pretty strongly. That's all I'm saying. To say that he's not showing any signs of separating, despite a ~10 pt. swing in the last several weeks and a huge change in the electoral votes is just wrong. You're asking for any signs of Obama gaining ground. As soon as anyone posts polls, polls of polls, or electoral vote counts, you just say "but they can change tomorrow! Polls aren't accurate!" I have to ask, by what metric is Obama NOT pulling away right now (last 2-3 weeks)?
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) Ah the completely overbroad comeback. At least I was limiting it to this specific issue. I'm just saying that liberals somehow think the two are consistent: 1) Obama won the first debate because he put together two complete sentences regarding international policy. 2) Palin lost big time even though she was supposed to come out drooling and wetting herself for 1.5 hours but didn't.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) In here, compared to many other places, nobody is going over the top with anything. Maybe a little overexcited at times, but that's to be expected. Elsewhere, and you can easily apply this to supporters of ANY candidate, people are stupid, and pop off at the mouth. In several other places I visit, the insane, illogical rhetoric is over the top. This is one of the few bastions of usually level-headed discussion.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) Yeah yeah, Gore was going to kill Bush, so was Kerry, McCain had no chance to be the Repub candidate, and Hillary was supposed to be the Dem candidate. GMAFB. I'm not saying Obama won't win, but this nonsense about it being over on 10/3 is ridiculous. Just don't say Obama can't separate when, clearly, that's what he's doing right now.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) He didn't torch McCain, take off your homer glasses. If Obama won last week merely by "showing up," then Palin won this round because she didn't sound like a complete moron, which was expected of her. Why is it that the liberal world can't be consistent? Also, people keep saying Obama is going to destroy McCain, which he may well do. But the fact is Obama has had nothing but momentum in this election and yet he can't seperate. He had the world-wide tour with every media "journalist" on their knees with him, yet he couldn't pull away. He had the historical made-for-tv-moment in Denver at the convention, but couldn't pull away. And now supposedly he "torched" McCain in the first debate, yet he still can't pull away. Face the facts people - this is going to be a close race decided by a couple of states (again). Also, as a mild McCain supporter, no doubt I have my issues with Palin getting the Presidency. But to me I'll gamble that McCain can survive at least one term and that he'd be infinitely better than Obama. I'll worry about a possible Palin presidency in the next election. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/20..._obama-225.html http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/ma...bama_vs_mccain/ http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ http://pollster.com/ Don't forget that McCain has pulled out of Michigan.
  17. A post in the other thread reminded me -- did anyone else catch Biden's heavy sigh when she resorted back to some completely off-topic energy response about half way through?

  19. Relaxed. I had zero expectations of them making the playoffs to begin the season. I thought they were finished this time last week. I'll be excited if they advance, and I'll be more nervous if they are playing an elimination game. But other than that, I'm just enjoying seeing the Sox play some October baseball this year. If you add that on top of all of the positives this year (Buehrle back on track, Floyd and Danks really stepping up, strong AL MVP and ROY contenders in Quentin and Alexi), it's a good season no matter how it ends.
