  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) So at this point Trump either going to have to claim he is ignorant of everything like Hillary always claims to be, or they are going to have to claim that wasn't really a crime, even tough the AG is indicting for it. Awesome. this is their defense so far: "This guy was a s***bag before he ran our campaign and he's a s***bag afterwards, nothing to do with us!" Problem being that it looks an awful lot like the guy who ran Trump's campaign for free was on someone's payroll.
  2. John Boehner Unchained The former House speaker feels liberated—but he’s also seething about what happened to his party. I'm guessing he's really, really glad he got out when he did.
  3. Apparently that's a pretty generic term. Any sort of criminal conspiracy in a federal charge is a "conspiracy against the US," i.e. "The People of the United States vs. Paul Manafort" is crimes 'against the US'. Manafort's had ties to Trump for a while, though. Even owns a condo in Trump Tower. And the other guy charged, Richard Gates, stayed on with the RNC and as part of the Trump administration.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 12:59 PM) I'm amazed that all the talk show guys on radio seem to be far right. Limbaugh, Hannity, that guy Joe Pags. All Trump love all the time. TV is a bit different starting with the View. Almost all TV analysts are Trump hating people on the left now that O'Reilly is off the air. 1) The entirety of Fox News is heavily pro-Trump 2) Check out Sinclair broadcasting. They're in the process of buying Tribune Media, and when they do, they'll be in 72% of homes nationwide via your local news channel. WGN will be a part of this. They force local broadcasters to run conservative propaganda pieces.
  5. First charges filed in the Mueller investigation http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/27/politics/fir...tion/index.html No wonder Republicans have been throwing up Clinton smoke screens
  6. Bob Corker’s poll numbers just plunged among Republicans amid his Trump feud The GOP is now the party of Trumpism and loyalty to a single individual is all that matters.
  7. Trump still hasn't implemented the Russian sanctions bill he was essentially forced to sign earlier this year, and now Tillerson has eliminated the sanctions office at State. http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/10/26/state-...nctions-office/ They're doing enormous amounts of damage to the US's diplomatic power both through tearing up every international agreement Trump decides he doesn't like and through dismantling the State Department. The US is going to have significantly reduced soft power going forward.
  8. I have no idea why you're offended but okay. I saw that story, though "oh rabbit mentioned that earlier" and posted it. You seemed to be saying that you don't like the private prison lobby's influence on government policy, so this was just calling your attention to an example of it. edit: I do not like Donald John Trump no sir
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 11:17 AM) Private prisons, Private prison company moves annual conference to Trump golf course
  10. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) My wife is a nurse in a semi-rural area. It's unbelievable how many people are on all this s***. And she works in the OB department. "Why is my baby crying so much?" Because it's withdrawing from opana, fentanyl-laced heroin, cocaine, and meth all at the same time. My aunt is a NICU nurse but in suburban Chicago. Still plenty of awful stories of stuff like that. edit: To put the opiod crisis into perspective, we have more deaths a year from opiod overdoses than from AIDS at the height of that crisis.
  11. Forgot to link the source, but it's CDC so it should be legit. https://www.drugabuse.gov/related-topics/tr...ose-death-rates
  12. Equifax Was Warned Last year, a security researcher alerted Equifax that anyone could have stolen the personal data of all Americans. The company failed to heed the warning. holy moley this is some extremely bad infosec
  13. Almost every state is investigating pharma companies over the opiod crisis. The allegations are that they deliberate misled doctors and patients on the strength and the addictive nature of the drugs. The crisis has mainly been driven by people going to doctors with legitimate pain medication and then it spiraling out of control from there.
  14. Ugh. 'I hope someone truly shoots you': online conspiracy theorists harass Vegas victims
  15. Yesterday, the Senate voted to end a CFPB rule that would have barred the banking industry from forcing mandatory arbitration on customers, locking them out of the courts and out of class action lawsuits entirely. Banks lobbied hard to kill this rule, and consumer groups were universally in favor of it.
  16. People weren't named, but there was an open letter by Illinois congresswomen detailing many, many cases of harassment by their colleagues over the years.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 09:05 AM) Eww eww eww eww eww The dam seems to have burst a bit here. Mark Halperin out at NBC over multiple sexual harassment allegations. http://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/...1026-story.html
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) To me this just means that people aren't answering the question actually asked. This is true of a lot of questions on a lot of polls. Could be some Democrats signaling "Trump bad" since W just gave an anti-Trump speech, though there has been far too much genuine "well, at least Bush wasn't as bad as Trump!" sentiment.
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) "it has been factually debunked with statistics". Agree. There is no way possible the most popular politician in the country would have won. Let me ruin your morning: 51% of Democrats now hold a favorable view of George "International Torture Regime and 2 Never-ending Wars" W. Bush.
  20. You can't "debunk" historical counterfactuals, but the best argument against it is that he was a bad enough candidate to lose to Hillary Clinton
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 25, 2017 -> 04:44 PM) I didn't want to post that because it wasn't a verified account, are we 100% sure that's from the company? The account's been posting relevant stuff going back weeks (before anyone knew who they were) and was created last year. I wouldn't expect a 2-person operation to get a twitter blue check. If they're a fake, they've been spoofing the company by making posts about the local power market in Montana going back to last December.
  22. Exclusive: The Interior Department Scrubs Climate Change From Its Strategic Plan A leaked draft of a five-year plan reveals how the DOI will prioritize “energy dominance” over conservation. Drill, baby, drill! Let's kill this whole planet as quickly as possible.
