  1. I don't think the Democratic progressive base is clamoring for a billionaire CEO, even if he did treat his still-low-wage workers better than other restaurant companies typically do. There are certainly worse CEO's out there, but if you want to permanently split off the Bernie wing of the party, running someone like that in 2020 is a great way to do it.
  2. the largest US military base in the ME is located in Qatar; also, SA funds a whole lot of extremism, but I'm guessing Trump just 100% buys whatever SA told him edit: it's also pretty bad and unfortunately very typical that Trump is now eagerly sucking up to the fundamentalist dictators in SA because they praised him, but he's actively rejecting and seriously undermining our long-time allies in democratic states in Europe.

  4. I think you also need to specify what you're talking about when it comes to 'Russia'. There's several different aspects, including: --Whether Russia interfered in the election to influence the outcome or undermine the legitimacy of the vote via spreading fake information and real information obtained via hacking --Whether Russia's attempts to infiltrate any voting systems were successful --Whether anyone from Trump's campaign, which included several Russian-friendly figures like campaign manager Paul Manafort, colluded with Russia knowingly or unknowingly. --Why numerous members of Trump's campaign and transition team had multiple contacts with Russian officials that they failed to disclose on security clearance forms, during Senate testimony, or to the American people --Why Trump's team was so eager as soon as they came into office to relax sanctions on Russia in exchange for [???] --What pressure Trump put on Comey or other DoJ officials to drop investigations into Michael Flynn or other Russia issues Some of this stuff is still in the process of being investigated, but a lot of this has been widely reported by multiple major media outlets with numerous sources and in many cases, openly confirmed by relevant people. We've had the conclusions from numerous intelligence agencies that have said Russia interfered, and just yesterday we had a leaked TS NSA document saying they likely hacked a voting machine company and at least tried to gain access to local election systems. Trump himself said the Russia investigation was on his mind when he fired Comey. Sessions recused himself from any Russian investigations (but then still played a role in firing Comey) for lying under oath during his confirmation hearings. The WH hasn't denied that Kushner met with Russian diplomats and a Russian banker from whom anyone in the US is barred from doing business with and tried to set up a "back channel" to Russia that used Russian equipment and facilities. Etc. etc. etc.
  5. NSA was able to id the intercept source via the folded paper. https://twitter.com/ericgeller/status/871842516458496001 Only six people had accessed and printed that report, so it was easy to narrow it down.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Cuban and Schultz say hi. Ugh nooooooooo
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) Trump had talked during the campaign about spending a trillion dollars on an infrastructure program. He's now expected to propose privatizing air traffic control and drastically reducing federal infrastructure spending, instead calling on state and local governments to should the burden and rely increasingly on privatized infrastructure. 8. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) It's breaking down any sense of trust we have in our government. It's breaking down trust between those in the government itself. How can the CIA or NSA function if a rogue federal contractor can obtain top secret clearance and then print docs off and send them to media outlet? And there's no backlash to it? I suppose it's semantics a bit here, whether it's undermining our democracy or a major security threat, in either case, this is an ongoing problem i'm more concerned about. There are issues there, and what leaks are justified or not is a subjective and difficult question. I maintain that it's a separate issue from undermining democracy itself. You might like the Frontline episode top secret America if you're interested in this. The recent CIA leaks do show the damage that can happen when they're are so many cleared contractors.
  9. Poking fun at you posting right wing conspiracy nonsense semi regularly while dismissing any reporting on Russia as leftist hysteria isn't in violation of that rule. Stop posting nonsense and people will stop calling you out on it.
  10. One of the attackers was in a documentary on Islamic extremism last year, preached for ISIS https://www.wsj.com/articles/london-attacke...694685?mod=e2tw
  11. Because it doesn't undermine the democracy itself? You can say it threatens national security maybe, but how do any of the leaks threaten democracy itself in the way that foreign governments tampering with elections would?
  12. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 04:57 PM) I find it odd that we're up in arms over this Russia meddling (justifiably so) yet don't seem concerned at all that "top secret" documents and reports continue to be leaked from our intelligence agencies on a routine basis. What's the real threat to our security? The fact that Russia tries to influence our elections, as we do all over the globe, or the fact that our intelligence communities can't keep their own s*** together? undermining the legitimacy of our democracy seems worse than leaking governmental wrong-doing or other damaging information that they're covering up to protect themselves Mike Flynn, compromised foreign asset, would still be NatSec if someone hadn't leaked about him.
  13. SETH RICH SETH RICH CNN STAGED FAKE NEWS!!! Oh but this top secret NSA report verified by multiple sources is definitely just "left wing conspiracy" lmao
  14. CBS confirmed the report is real. https://twitter.com/RebeccaShabad/status/871822448660029440 Security officials have been warning how ridiculously insecure our electronic voting systems and machines are for years and years. (good read from several years back starts on page 32 here)
  15. On the phone so can't pull quotes, but yeah some pretty shocking and troubling revelations in there.

  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) It's a video. The account made no opinion or commentary and is totally irrelevant. I scrolled up and down twitter to find a poster of the video where I wouldn't get this response but I guess it doesn't really matter. yeah it didn't matter because apparently it was bulls*** anyway. if your only possible sources are right wingers on twitter, it might not be legitimate! QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) CNN has claimed Antro’s footage is misleading, telling Mediaite that the demonstrators were simply allowed through a police cordon at the CNN crew’s request, and that the demonstration was quite real. “This story is nonsense. The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so.” http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/230570

  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 09:55 AM) There is going to be 90 candidates next presidential election. our choices are going to be Cuomo, Booker and Zuck and I will give up all hope

  22. There's a single nominee that's awaiting a floor vote right now (Scott Brown). He hasn't bothered to nominate anyone for ~400 other positions despite Democrats asking him to do so.
  23. Doubling down on attacking the mayor of London (this is from a bot that reposts his tweets as official Presidential statements, which is what they are)
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 08:21 AM) I'm pretty sure the mayor of London has a better grasp on his city then a brain dead President across the ocean who spent the weekend playing golf. Not sure what the mayor of London being Muslim has to do with it. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 08:08 AM) Just like the Manchester attacker, these guys had been under surveillance and reported to the authorities multiple times by fellow Muslims for extremism. Major fail by British intelligence. They don't look particularly competent right now.
