I get why people really don't like some of the Dems like Feinstein, but I'll never get the Pelosi hate. She seems to do a pretty good job of wrangle all of the Democratic cats in the House, and the House version of the ACA was a good bill with a public option.

The "two fewer players" was a spin with picking specific years and circumstances. Compared directly to 2015, it was far fewer players.

Chaffetz resigning as early as tomorrow?? https://twitter.com/cmclymer/status/855115753992982528

That's good for Trump, but that seems really, really bad for a whole lot of House Republicans who aren't necessarily in the safest districts that would be forced to vote for it.

But why? Almost everyone hated the AHCA the last time around.

They're attempting to revive AHCA/Obamacare repeal and get the thing to a vote before Trump hits 100 Days. https://twitter.com/costareports/status/855087222214799360 The GOP has a new plan to destroy Obamacare. It’s even crueler than the last one.

Todd Ricketts, Trump's deputy commerce secretary pick, withdraws from consideration Couldn't untangle his financial ties enough to satisfy ethics concerns so he stepped down, which was the proper thing to do.

I understand the difference between a fist and an elbow but "sucker elbow" isn't really a phrase.

That could very well be, but without some changes to the program's core structure, it just doesn't seem like it's going to be very effective.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) The biggest problem with the program is still the VA itself. They still have to approve outside care, and much like inside care, they take way too long to make decisions. From your article I can speak personally and say that my Dad was diagnosed with a leukemia from Agent Orange, and the need for a triple bypass in the same day in the same hospital visit. It took the VA 3 DAYS to decide which one to treat first, before they even started to review the actual treatment programs. Yeah like I said I wasn't defending the VA there, I had just remembered hearing an NPR interview probably back when that report was released with the bill's original sponsor who talked about the program not being as successful as he had hoped.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 12:18 PM) This is probably the best thing that Donald Trump will do in his four years in office. Of course it should be pretty telling that the one true model we have of government health care is so bad, that no one actually wants it. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/a...;utm_medium=RSS I didn't think the results from Veteran's Choice were that great, though? That's not an argument on whether the VA itself is good, just that so far VC doesn't seem to be very effective at addressing the problems it was meant to. We have other models of "government healthcare," too. SCHIP, Medicaid and the very popular Medicare are all models of the sorts of programs many people push for and they are single-payer programs.

It turns out, unsurprisingly, that the whole Susan Rice/unmasking fake scandal was generated entirely by the White House and congressional allies in order to provide some justification of Trump's claim that Obama wiretapped him. THE CONTINUING FALLOUT FROM TRUMP AND NUNES’S FAKE SCANDAL trump himself had no idea how FISA warrants actually work before launching his ludicrous accusations against Obama

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) And some people say the alt-right isn't racist. Spencer was pretty open a few years back about coming up with the "alt-right" branding to put a shiny public face on neo-nazism.
-
Here's a guy trying to sucker punch an antifa dude at Auburn last night How on earth do you mess up a sucker punch so bad that you knock yourself over lmao (Spencer was chased out of there to chants of "SEC" after he told Auburn he'd like to abolish football because it makes black athletes the face of the University)

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 08:35 AM) Regarding the French election. I Would love to see Jean-Luc Mélenchon pull this off. He has some great ideas. He's also in favor of exiting the EU, though, and that could be really bad for a lot of immigrants in France.
