It was all so over the top and ridiculous and obviously disqualifying, but nobody focused in on any specific story and really made it stick because every day was something else zany. Meanwhile, Clinton faced the slow drip drip drip of EMAILS for the entire campaign (first the server, then the DNC hacks, then her server again at the last minute) and that was by far the biggest thing that came into people's minds with her. But, as much as Trump's crazy mind might seem to think otherwise, this isn't the campaign anymore. This is running the country, and he doesn't have the same opportunities to run away from the negative coverage.
