What do NC legislatures imagine should happen to someone who has completely undergone gender change therapy and surgery and lives and looks fully as their preferred gendered? NC's law would seem to require someone who's fully FtM transitioned to continue using facilities for women since that's the "birth gender."

Weird fact: Iran is actually very accepting of transgendered people. There are more sex change operations there than anywhere else in the world. Unfortunately, part of that is due to equally strong anti-gay ideology, so gay people are pressured into gender-changing operations rather than just being able to be gay.

Bangkok red light "mission trip" saved Sox from LaRoche
StrangeSox replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I hate this answer. It puts everyone else in a s***ty position where now they've gotta be the guy who goes to complain about a kid being around the team 24/7, and now management's gotta do something about it. Players might feel like assholes for complaining about it until it really just gets out of hand, and then we all see what can happen when management has to deal with bulls*** problems that shouldn't even exist in the first place. Granted, they brought some of that on themselves, but it's still ridiculous for LaRoche to be that un-self-aware of the situation he was creating. -
Okay, but see how important a catchy title is? Nobody even remembers that thread! Now this is how you title a thread.

What sort of equipment do you need to do that one? I'm about halfway through T-25 and I'll be looking for something to add weight again when I'm done.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 08:14 AM) Is there any evidence showing that Democrats are going out to vote for Trump just so the GOP gets the worst candidate? No. It's not something that happens in appreciable amounts.

Cruz released his "postcard" IRS replacement tax plan: https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/72025031...src=twsrc%5Etfw 1. Writing your SSN on a postcard is a great idea! 2. How do you calculate line 4? Hmm, it's almost as if the typical wage-earner's tax form is straight-forward and it's calculating the deductions that makes things complicated! 3. On that note, isn't this just basically a reformatted 1040EZ with all of the instructions removed? 4. How is it a "flat tax" if you have itemized deductions? Also, tax brackets are not complicated and a "flat tax" is just another word for "massive upper class tax cut."

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 12:00 AM) Even though it's usually GOP that use voter suppression? Come on. At least be consistent. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) Eh, I don't necessarily agree. Pure popular vote is the reason Trump is doing so well. There need to be checks and balances on the idiocy of the American public

Nebraska came up one vote short of switching their state to "winner-take-all" in the EC. Nebraska and Maine are the only two states that aren't WTA. https://twitter.com/fredmknapp/status/719984549975818240

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) Sort of sad that a Utah congressman decides this is a good idea. When PR didn't even suggest it. He has a personal crusade with about 20 supporters in the House to sell off all federal public lands to private owners.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) Right... but they will still matter substantially LESS than their counterparts in California in a popular vote system, since the candidates will still not travel there, nor put money into those states. Their vote would matter just as much, and that's what actually would count, not time spent campaigning in a certain area. If you're concerned about that, the ec doesn't fix it. It's easy to imagine scenarios where the ec goes wrong. What if virtually every state was "safe" for one party or another? What if we had our population concentrated in a handful of states and a tiny number of voters in numerous small states controlled the election? What if a candidate won enough ev's in low turnout states but lost the National vote by a huge margin?
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) How do they have equal footing if their individual needs as voters aren't being catered to by the candidates while others get face to face attention on the daily? That won't change. I didn't say it would. Their disproportionate power would change. There's no reason for a vote in Wyoming or Vermont to count for substantially more than a vote in California or Texas.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) 150 years ago, voting was limited to those over 21 (which when you consider what the lifespan was 150 years ago is more like 40 today), I just need to nit-pick this: life expectancy at birth and life expectancy once you're past childhood are two very different things. LE-B was low for most of human history because infant and childhood mortality rates were so high, but if you made it to 20 years old or so, you could realistically expect to live another 40+ years. http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0005140.html
