I'm not so sure about that. Langston used to be a strikeout machine when he pitched in Seattle in the mid '80s. But any comparison of Langston to Cotts is a plus!

When you have a 6'5" behemoth with a slick glove catching everything you throw his way, your defense would improve too. Back to Jimenez, he almost botched today's game again. Easy DP grounder, he screwed up the throw and allowed the tying run to reach 1st. He was lucky his teammates bailed him out.

But in his defense (and I can't believe I'm coming to his defense), that pitch to Dunn was definitely strike 3. Brian Cooper just missed the call. But to charge the ump like that shows serious immaturity. And then you have the classless fans in the bleachers acting like dumbasses........again. If anyone was watching the Cubs-Reds game on WGN, Jimenez just showed me yet another reason why I'm glad he's gone. Derrek Lee hit an easy ground ball to 2nd. So what does Jimenez do; instead of going to his right to field it, he broke to the left. Result: An RBI single for Lee and a 2-0 lead for the Cubs. The man has unbelievable talent, but he falls asleep too many times.

Top 9th: Stairs on 2nd, Beltran on 1st, Sweeney the go-ahead run at the plate with 2 down.........and flies out to center. Twins hang on for the 9-7 win.

Yeah, but the 3 walks didn't help either. Especially since one of them led to a run. I'm not about to say kick him out of the rotation, but he's gotta at least be consistent. He's the only starter not to go to the 6th inning.

Not gonna lament about the loss as you can't win them all. But Wright isn't making a strong case to be kept in the rotation.
