What if maggs doesn't come back to full health from the knee. Then we will all thank JR for not signing him. Lets just wait and see. Enjoy the game tonight.

Please tell me why they have to be the replacements for maggs. Are there no otehr free agents on the market next year? can trades not be made? Can we not sign maggs after the season? If we make the playoffs do you beleive they will dismantle the team? Just win and everything will work out.

every GM is under pressure in there own way. We could be Kansas City right now. They spent alot more money this year and they have nothing to show for it. That GM is under pressure to trade his people. Rowand Gone, Cotts Gone, Reed or Borchard Gone, Diaz or rauch gone. All these guys will be looked at for trade bait.

Well we don't suck. Maggs could get injured again when he comes back. Many folks were dead set on not trading Maggs for griffey last year. (last years rumor) Well, Griffey is doing great and is under contract for the next 3 or 4 years at less money than Magglio is asking. That's how it goes folks. So lets not sweat this. The guy could break his leg after he gets back or he could be great. If he is great, then we should be in the playoffs. If we are in the playoffs we should be happy..But we probably won't be because we will worry whether this guy wants 14 or 15 million.

The Sox will not trade Maggs unless they fall out of the playoff hunt in the next 30 days. No trading maggs. Hell maggs won't be back until just before the deadline. Maggs will not be traded. Think this year... Win this year... worry about this year. f*** next year, that will take care of itself. Maggs stays, we will get a fifth starter and we will get more bullpen help. it WILL happen if we are at the top of the division by the trade deadline. As far as Maggs going to the lowest payroll team in MLB (brewers) AHHH I don't think so. Remember he is making 14 million this year. that means the brewers would need to pick up at least 5 million by the end of July, for a player they don't even know is fully healthy. makes no sense.

I think this is actually ok strategy.If I am an owner why would I want to negotiate with a player that is injured? makes no sense. I would want this player to come back and play and play hard and help us win the division. If he does that, I still can reach to him after the season. He won't get 15 million. This way makes the most sense. Lets see if he comes back and comes back strong. If he leaves, Like colon did, then we turn to other options. There are plenty of players including our farm players ready to play and play well for less than Magglio. if magglio leaves we will replace him and get a pitcher in the off season. Koch and his 5 million will be gone, Valentin and his 5 million will be gone. There is alot of money that is sitting there to get good players. Lets just win this year, and let next year take care of itself.

We the die hard Sox fans are suppose to be so smart. Why are we acting like Cub fans. Why is everyone so damn worried about next year when we are in a pennant race right now.
