  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) I'm going to start assigning people to leagues tomorrow, so if you haven't signed up, do so tonight! will you be sending pms in soxtalk or using email or some other medium?
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) I've sent out invites to everyone who was in the league last season. One person has declined to re-join so far. i'll fill his spot if you need somebody
  3. i got them all but one that took the longest was harris who was one of my faves at the time so that was upsetting.
  4. I was going to post the same thing from the drew magary article. he is the best.
  5. It sucks to think about now, but wouldnt brandon allen be just about the perfect guy for the dh spot this sesaon? lefty, power, not a clog on the basepaths and hes young/cheap. guess i should probably get over that though
  6. the blackout makes our game better. that was the coolest stadium since the penn state white out like 7 years ago(before everyone did it). because the tickets went on sale after the clinch the entire stadium was sox fans and they were all in black. both games were fun to watch though
  7. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) Peavy is dealing. I can't wait for a full season with him. Btw, where has this offense been this season? what he said i know, great imput
  8. Tyler had a great first year in the sox organization. After raking in double a for the first 2/3 of the season he called was called up to aaa where he started slowly but ended up with pretty good numbers. .286/.364/.438/.803 with 2 hrs 10 doubles and 13 rbis in 31 games for the knight that combined with his aa numbers totaled out to a 297 average, 903 ops and 28 doubles and 15 hrs with 56 rbis for the season he was honored as a midseason and post season southern league all star. he was voted the best defensive catcher in the league which is supposed to be his biggest area for improvement he got called up in september and he hasnt been used much because i guess we're still in the race and they didnt want to throw him into the fire too soon. I dont think he will be back in the minors again so i may need a new aap.
  9. how do you lose on a caught stealing?
  10. lets go mark kazmir has been terrible this season and we lit him up last time faced him
  11. great outing by danks good enough job by the o 5 games out. wtf?
  12. just when i think im out... the tigers get swept by the f'n royals and they pull me back in divisions like these shouldnt get an automatic playoff bid
  13. my ideal lineup for next year dh pods ss alexie 3b beckham lf quentin rf abreu 1b konerko c aj/flowers 2b getz/nix cf rios bench kotsay nix flowers the only slow guys are paulie and aj in the games he plays. id like to see flowers dh a lot when hes not catching so his development isnt stunted so we may need another bench player who can catch, just in case this team isnt much different from our current team though basically swapping dye for abreu so i dunno if it will be enough of an improvement. hopefully the development of the young infields defensively and offensively and a healthy q will be enough to put a championship calibur offense up to support our amazing pitching rotation
  14. todays game makes me 3-2 on the year. not quite as impressive. great game by gavin. even the red sox fans were giving him a standing o after that first hit in the 6th. i really like kotsay, hope we see a lot of him the rest of this year and next
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) Thus, we should build a team that is more oriented to do this instead of the one that lives on the three run homer. i could not agree more. as sad as it was to see a class act like thome go, that was the first step towards that
  16. 14 hits in 4 innings, 1 hr, this is fun to watch
  17. 44 doubles for cj. that guy can flat out hit. great find by the sox. im excited to see where he goes from here
  18. in the beginning of 07 i said i wanted to see thome and contreras traded or gotten rid of. odd that today they both leave on the same day. They both have had a lot of ups and downs since then. I will have many fond memories of jose pitching at the end of 05 through midway 06. They both are great guys and hope they do well for their new teams. either way, its good to see us moving forward
  19. he'll be here tuesday gordo can finally get a day off then
  20. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) great stuff
  21. now we just need to take 2/3 from the yanks, hope the tigers lose a couple, beat the twi.... whoa i just had deja vu
