Podsednik to DL, Boone Logan Recalled
Like I said... if someone they called up out preformed Pods/Erstad, that would mean they would be pressured so much that they would have to ditch one of the great grinder, and they dont want to do that. That's why Logan was called up, and if he sucks, Ozzie and KW finally have a reason to dump him.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) To be fair, PK at 2nd base shouldn't be considered someone in scoring position. true... but to be honest, we could have had Ricky Henderson in his prime out there at 2nd and he wouldn't have scored either, as the ball wouldn't even leave the infield.

Podsednik to DL, Boone Logan Recalled
Id rather see someone like Sweeney or Owens called up... but whatever. I guess if they call up an offensive player, they might out-preform the grinder, and have to ditch the grinder. But the grinder is a must on the team.

33 Dead After Virginia Tech University Shooting
Marcus Vick? Okay, jokes aside, this was a very saddening thing, and my condolences go out to the victims family and friends, and to every innocent person at VT. This could be a dramatizing thing for many people, scarring them for life. Death toll is up to 32 now. 33 if you count the shooter, but he deserved to die anyway.

Where KW is going with this team
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) I'm really not sure you can build around those 3. Best case scenario, Fields may be a guy you can kind of build around, but none are franchise players, and neither Sweeney nor Anderson have very high ceilings. Do people just consider Konerko completely gone and done with? I mean, he does have 3 years left after this season, and he hasn't seen his numbers fall yet. He's not old, but is on the wrong side of 30, and will probably be great until either his hip goes out or the end of his contract. I personally think Sweeney hasn't the highest potential of the three. If Sweeney can live up to his potential, Fields as well, or at least be able to put up good number for a middle of the order guy, and have Anderson put up Torii Hunter-esque numbers, that'd be great. And, I think PK has several more good years left in him.

Where KW is going with this team
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) Uribe's a far more proven hitter than any of the other three. Uribe is a decent hitter, at best. I'd rather take my chances with Sweeney, Fields, and Anderson as the three I build around. I would like an upgrade at SS.

Go with... Pods, Igu, Thome, Konerko, Dye, Pierzynski, Uribe, Crede, Erstad/Anderson

Where KW is going with this team
QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) That might not be a wise foursome to build a team around. ??? Maybe not Uribe, but Sweeney, Fields, and Anderson are three good guys to build a future offense around.
