  1. Stavo hits a missile to short stop... tough break for him, NOT! He rolled over on a pitch outside, like most hitters in this lineup do, so one can say Gustavo is developing really fast.
  2. the real heart of the order up... almost Gustavo time! Erstad and Uribe just miss one each... STAVO TIME!
  3. im not even going to bother watching this game on the big screen... I'd rather watch it on the little screen by my computer and b**** to you guys about it Contreras is really gonna get rocked if he keeps throwing that 91 mph fastball right down the middle. Lucky there isn't runners at the corners right now. He has been hit HARD twic in a row now.
  4. lol, the whole league knows it now. What DJ said was that he heard the plan for Robertson was to throw more change ups, and if he keeps it low and away... good night. I hate Greg Walker...
  5. no surprise there. Konerko at this pace will be leading the league with K's.
  6. What has Jose or this offense shown us over the past 2 weeks to give us any hope what so ever?
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) LOL. Are you kididng me? Vs. lefties this season, the White Sox have only hit something like a collective .140 with only 10 runs scored... Odds are, that was ballgame.
  8. ugh... not a good start. Need a miracle to get out of this inning with only allowing 1-2 runs.
  9. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 11:58 AM) who keeps putting my home videos on youtube!?!?!?!
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 11:55 AM) thank you for fixing that for me Tony...
  11. Erstad in the 7 spot is disgusting... he should really be batting ninth. oh, and another game in which we can watch Gustavo own the world.
  12. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) Erstad is actually a significantly better defensive CF than Anderson. Both Cowley and Gregor have reported that Anderson has trouble going back on balls and implied he doesn't give maximum effort in the OF. I'm pretty sure that's one reason Guillen has soured on him. Last night Ozzie said flat out that Anderson isn't as good as Erstad defensively and will not be replacing him in CF. I think Anderson's defense is greatly overrated. I strongly disagree with that. Anderson has the potential to be a perennial GG'er out there. Erstad gets good reads, but his arm is only adequate and he is slow out there. Anderson has a better arm, and can get to more balls then Erstad can get to. Plus, Erstad is a lefty, which is good for LF.
  13. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) I'll share a Mark Buehrle and a Neal Cotts story, just for the hell of it. Buehrle In September the year Mark got called up to the Sox, a friend and I met him and Matt Ginter at the ESPNZone after a Sox game. I had joked with Buehrle earlier that year that I would buy him a beer when he got to the big leagues. I introduced my buddy and we all started talking. I walked up to the bar to order beers for all of us and just as I was about to pay, MB tossed a $100 at the bartender, looked at me and told me to put my money away. I told him I owed him and to let me buy the damned beer and he replied, just drink the damned thing. My friend and I never paid for another drink the rest of the night. This doesn't make him a hero by any means, but to me it tells a little bit about him. He took care of us even though we didn't ask for it, and actually told him not to. I might expect that more from an established big leaguer more so than a guy who was in AA a few months before. Cotts When Cotts go the call to go to the big leagues he was driven back to Birmingham while the team was in Chattanooga. He got back and started packing everything up and had a strange look on his face. He was all of a sudden worried he didn't have any clothes to wear. He had no suit, sports jacket or ties, which are required for team travel. Manager Wally Backman called to check in on him to see how they were doing. Neal asked him where to get a suit and Wally told him to look in his locker. Neal tried it on and it fit fine. Wally told him to keep it, it was his. Neal tried to write a check, but Wally told him no. He told him to keep the suit and never come back to AA. No real point to that story, but I thought it was kind of interesting, nonetheless. The second story seems like a good story about Wally, not Cotts...
  14. even though he kinda sucked in 04 and for most of 06, I have always been a fan of Cotts. And Buehrle is just like you or me... except he is famous, rich as balls (or about to be), has a world series ring, and pitched a no-no in the majors.
  15. well, he did only get 2 runs of support. Would be nice if the offense could just open up a game with 5 runs or so, and give him a nice cushion.
  16. from looking at the gameday, it looks like Sweeney's homer was a bomb to dead center. I hope he continues to do good. Fields also is starting to come around, and Floyd had a solid start. also, Day with only 1 K in 1 innings!?!?!?!
  17. he pitched today... went 4.2 and gave up 2 runs, I think. yep. only got 1 K, walked 4, and gave up 5 hits... is it encouraging that he can pitch pretty bad but still have decent results? I just hope he builds up arm strength and gets back to 100% by mid season or so.
  18. now... only if he could get some help from his team.
  19. Why would you have Anderson play LF and Erstad CF? Wouldn't it make more sense to move the slower, left-handing OF'er to LF, and let the faster OF with at least equal defensive skill to CF?
  20. Erstad, eh... he did get the job done, but it wasnt pretty. Mack is starting to heat up with the stick. Iguchi, well is Iguchi. Thome is really heating up, and PK, IMO, is starting too come around, and any day now we can expect him to break out. Dye is so-so right now, but has looked better of late. Pierzynski has also looked good, but Crede still looks pitiful. Uribe, well, I dont know. He's not good, but he's not that bad, he has come through with some good hits. When will Danks get some support? I am really starting to think this is some sort of Rookie Hazing. But, the bullpen has been great so far, and Aardsma is a beast.
