  1. you just GOT to be chisox361 on the troll board. so what you're saying is ... you're a frank thomas fan and you're NOT a white sox fan ... right? frank thomas goes .... you go. then why should anyone give a damn about your opinions?
  2. imo frank hasn't changed a thing and hasn't learned a thing. in two, three weeks he'll once again open his stupid yap and prove he's one of the dumber players in the game. i would bet he was coached in his latest quote. i have always appreciated thomas's hitting contributions to the sox efforts, but i really really wish that he'd been traded at the end of the 2000 season (btw i've stated this since the end of the 2000 season). nothing has changed and his latest quote won't change any 'basher's" mind. he's done some unforgivably stupid things, caused all kinds of morale problems with this team, and has not played hard when it was called for. i'm not saying he hasn't been a talented (even great) hitter (in a very one dimensional kind of way), i'm saying he's not a player who represents the style that best exemplifies the chicago white sox ... to me. as for him retiring in a sox uniform .... give me a break. who cares? (i know .... YOU do) i'm a sox fan ... not hung up on one player who's been nothing but controversy for the last 7 years or so. i may have felt differently had he just shut up, honored his contract a couple years ago without the fuss he made, and played the damn game. you want to put this jerk on a pedestal, go ahead. don't expect 'bashers' (who, oddly enough, seem to think THEY are justified in their opinions) to do the same.
  3. regarding colon ... i'll say the same thing i said about him last year. no one is going to give up much of anything for him. he's a lame duck and will walk at the end of this season and everyone knows it. that's why the sox got him for next to nothing. in fact he probably went for more last year (because he had a full year left on his contract) than he will this year. why should anyone give up much for a guy who's going to be REALLY expensive after this season? give up a starter AND valuable prospects for someone they can have a shot at next year without losing anyone? i don't think so. it's a dream to think he has trade value for the sox. he's a rental and nothing more.
  4. thank you.... i was wondering all nite if i did the math right lol............well not really but it sounded good huh ..... you and me both. we gotta keep a close eye on this ss dude!
  5. ss! what am i missing? it looks to me like magglio won with 10 points. dj had 7.
  6. i agree! he should jump at it and i too think mb is not as bad as he's been looking. i can't see jr signing colon tho. it just makes too much sense. besides, i figure bc will be asking for 5 years for a bundle and someone will give it to him. no way jr signs a pitcher for 5 years.
  7. IMO FWIW leave it alone. it's fair as it is, it's understood by everyone. forget the pitchers!
  8. why doesn't anyone believe me when i say this team is poisoned from the top down? as long as jr reigns supreme this team will not succeed. he could completely reinvent this team for next year but nothing will change. jr will not have people under him who won't do things his way. it's the way he puts his organization together. if not for the incredible luck of having probably the greatest player who ever lived playing for his basketball team, and one of the greatest coaches (and neither were appreciated by their organization) the bulls would have gone down the same path .... the path they currently travel. you can talk forever about what this team should do ... who should be traded ... who should be brought up ... etc, but the only operation that will help this club is a jr-ectomy.
  9. seems to me the sox should go on the offensive in that case and start banging other teams first. they know who their enemies are. go after em.
  10. hi red. a lot of guys got fed up with the a few certain jerks who set up permanent camp there. it was like a constant struggle so a bunch jumped over to here. i came here because the ptc we were doing there got transfered here. it had been quite a while since i'd been here and it's changed a lot. i like this setup and may do most of my posting here that i did at espn. i still read wsi but don't post there very often as i'm sure you've noticed. these are both pretty good sites
  11. hey ugly! i see you've been promoted to tripla a. starting over's a b**** ain't it?
  12. i certainly agree that the problem starts at the top. it's not jm's nor kw's fault they were hired! jr wanted to save a penny so he hired inexperience on the cheap. this is definitely the root cause of the shape of this organization.
