Aah, but it seems everytime I do, the player does something good...

YES! HOMERUN FOR VAL!!!!!!!!!! I now officially think everyone on this team sucks. I said Val sucked no more than an hour ago and look at the results. I think I should spread my magic. Everyone sucks!
-
Now this is where Maggs should hit. But no! Brian freakin Daubach is hitting!
-
Maybe no one talks to you because all your posts are retarded or derrogatory. Like choosing "f**glio" as todays pick to click. Or starting the "Official Guy Thread". Youre a joke. :fyou

Clayton only made no errors because he didnt get to all the balls that Jose does. Jose has good to great range so he gets to more balls, hard balls in the hole and stuff, and then he messes up. Either way, I still think Jose sucks. I just happen to think Royce sucks worse...

Agreed, RPS and spiff. Maggs should definitely be playing today. It doesnt matter if he struggles against this pitcher, this is a big game and hes one of our best hitters. This is not the time to give him an off day...

PTC Thurs 6-26 game 3 vs Twinks
Soxplosion replied to JUGGERNAUT's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
What the hell? Thats not even funny man. First, hes on your own team, you moron. And then, I thought you said "what does it matter if youre gay or not?" Say that, thats fine, but if you do, dont be a hate monger... -
There are a couple more that I can think of wsf. Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell have played for Houston their entire careers, starting in 88 and 91. Edgar Martinez started his career in Seattle in 87. And of course, Thomas started here in 90. Those are the only ones I can find with careers that have lasted 10+ years on the same team. And I dont think Buehrle will make it that far. When he comes up for free agency in 2006, I reckon hes gone...
-
Of course brando, his stuff is good enough but its more his know how that makes him a great pitcher...
-
Buehrles stuff isnt that good. The man just knows how to pitch. He knows what to throw, and when and where to throw it. Thats why I think hell be good... ...again. He just needs to get his mind off St Louis and in the game and hell be fine. However, since he already seems to want to leave, I dont think hes going to be a career Southsider. I just dont see it...

I think Marks done great things in the past. But he hasnt now. This is his third season and hes already struggling. Frank didnt have a huge slump like this in his third year. And in 98, and all the other years where people have bashed on Frank, those years were actually decent. One year he lacked average but had power (and that lack at .265 wasnt too bad), then he lacked power and had average and so on. But he always brought something to the table, except in 2001 when he was out with that injury. But for Mark, this is a lot earlier in his career and this slump is a lot worse. Im still holding out hope that he will recover either this year, or next year, somewhat like Frank did in 2000. But right now hes not doing well and we should just realize that and not try to rationalize. Mark hasnt had much support, but he hasnt pitched very good at all...
-
Whoever set that rule that frank has to hit third? Put him fourth of fifth. Those are good numbers Jas, he shouldnt be getting bashed for a performance like that...
-
The 3rd is because of offense, but 7th in walks and 33rd in ERA is his fault, not the offenses...
-
If Greg Vaughn, Jeremy Burnitz or someone like that, came out and hit .250 with 28 bombs and 92 RBIs, his fans would praise him. Those are pretty good numbers. So why dont most people praise Frank Thomas when he does that? Because hes been great in the past and those numbers just dont compare to his numbers of earlier years. If Frank had hit like he did in 2002 in his rookie year, we woulda said, this kids pretty good. Yet now when he hits like that all these people think he stinks. Why? Because now he has all these years of the past that just blow away his 2002 performance. But if he came out like that as a rookie, wed say hes pretty good because those truly are good, not great, numbers and we wouldnt have had any past greatness to compare him to. I hope you guys understand...

I don't like him either and I'll chime in even though my name isn't southsider... Reason being is the contract thing a few years back when he was definitely selfish about a lot of things and handled it in the worst way possible....Add that to the fact that he hasn't really had a great season lately (except for 2000) and there's not much to love about him. What about Mark and the whole St Louis thing? Hes been an idiot about that, why dont you hate him? That's a good point. Talk about handling something in the worst possible way...MB mentioned that he'd like to play for St Louis someday. Sox fans freak out, and just when we had forgotten all about that comment, HE SAID IT AGAIN. That seems very selfish to me. Exactly. Sure, hate on Frank all you want, but when you get mad at him for something, be fair and treat both on the same scale. Dont let Marks whines slip while you crucify Frank for his. That aint right...
-
Wanna know where Mark ranks in the AL? 33rd in ERA, 3rd in losses and 7th in walks. You can bash on Frank all you want, but if you do, you might want to defend someone who can actually compare to the Hurt...

Ill admit that below expectation post was really kinda weird...

And Franks been a great player much longer than Mark. Frank didnt have his first bad season until 98. And 98 wasnt even a very bad year. .265 with 29 homeruns and 109 RBIs is great. Just Frank was always better. .305 with 15 homeruns and 77 RBIs is decent as well. Hes simply a victim of his own success. 2001, when he went down due to injury, was his only bad year. And since it was due to injury, it wasnt even very bad. In 2002, he hit 28 bombs with 92 RBIs and a BA around .250. Thats bad for Frank, yes it is, but those are really decent numbers for anyone else! .250 is kinda low, and so is 77 ribbies from a power hitter, but those are accepted from other players. He is a victim of his own success. Now back to the point. Frank didnt have his first "below expectations" season until 98. Yes thats it! Franks never had a bad season, hes only had below expectation seasons. "Bad" would be something like PKs season this year. Or maybe not that bad. Maybe just .230-15-60. That would be bad. But Marks having his first below expectation, really it borders on bad, season in his third year. Thats not good...

.277 with 16 homeruns and 37 RBIs. 'Nuff said.
-
Loaiza and Colon are our aces. Not Mark. 4-10 with like a 4.90 ERA. No matter how youve done in your career, well, stats like those put you back where you started. Marks going to have to earn the title of ace back. He may do that, and then Ill be more than happy to call him ace. But until he starts pitching like an ace (and none of this 6 IP 4 ER nonsense) hes just another pitcher...
-
Broglio was a pitcher, I just realized. And he wasnt as horrible as I first thought. He did win 21 games with st Louis once. He was somewhat of an ace for St Louis, but he just sucked with the Scrubs. And considering who they lost for him, this is definitely one of the worst trades ever...
-
Oh, maybe the Brock trade does come in second. I dont think Brock missed any SBs because of the trade...

Thanks cw. I didnt understand exactly what the punishment was, but it seems there were up to five years in prison. In Virginia, its just a fine and a criminal record. Geez, if five years in prison were dished out to every kid who has sex, I think my school would go out of business due to lack of students...
