Red Sox really would be needing to rebuild if the White Sox had Devers now as their cornerstone.
Benintendi fell off the map, Pedroia got old. JD Martinez slowing down as well, at least until this year. Bogaerts has been their most consistent player but lacks range and is never going to be a 30 homer type of guy.
Or Yermin. But Mercedes really had some strong minor league numbers that weren’t Charlotte or walk/OBP inflated. Never has been a .270 or .280 guy, though.
Even Andres Gimenez would be considered a power hitter on the White Sox...
By the way, White Sox 20 no hitters, only Dodgers with 23 ahead of them in MLB history. Would have thought the Yankees.
Abreu taking some really wild swings there trying too hard for a homer instead of hitting an oppo single.
That’s the problem, hitters putting too much pressure on themselves not trusting the next man up.
By that definition, Moncada doesn’t fare well, except 2019. Collins will never do that obviously, and possesses nothing of Yoan’s talent, either. His bat speed has been an issue from his time in the minors.
We just don’t have enough above-average hitters right now.
Really bad defense/fundamentals.
Terribly inconsistent bullpen with an obvious lack of clutch hitting.
Robert didn’t expect that ball to carry so well and so quickly...slight misread. Those balls hit right at or over you in the cold weather are tough, though.
Then he compounds the error by making a bad throw home.
Red Sox running Tanner Houck tmrw in the second game...Giolito and Eeovaldi Monday. Wrote manana because it is tomorrow here.
Madrigal could probably hit 25-30 homers at the Little K or LLWS field in Williamsport.
Honestly think he’s faster than Vaughn to play LF...now 6 walks against 9 k’s for Vaughn.
Madrigal pretty much league average wrc+ and -0.8 for Fangraphs defense.
Hit and run gets Vaughn in to third.
