  1. Jake Eder is 46 there.
  2. https://www.truebluela.com/2025/1/25/24352120/dodgers-non-roster-invitees-2025-spring-training Dodgers' ST non roster invites could give entire Sox 40 man roster a heckuva battle. BP very high (#8/9 overall) on dePaula and Hope.
  3. Not very many people have seriously projected Iriarte into the rotation...so I guess that's the hottest take. Karinchak's stuff has degraded greatly from 4-5 years ago. CLE definitely knows their bullpens.
  4. Quite simply...if you grew up in the 70s and 80s and early 90s...it was Indiana UCLA Kentucky Duke UNC and Kansas that were the blue bloods. Now you have UConn, Gonzaga, the SEC strength across the league, especially at the top. Florida was in there for awhile. Butler, etc. Arizona. I can't blame Caitlin Clark and the Fever for this one...if anything...there's even more interest in the state overall for BB. The best answer might be Purdue's ascendancy...and Illinois to a lesser extent, Michigan and MSU to the north. Definitely not ND, either. They need another early "ascending" Brad Stevens-like coach in their 30s and 40s that's not associated with "old school" Indiana, Alfords or Woodson or Isaiah Thomas...for example, Tom Crean could definitely recruit well, but coaching was suspect. TJ in Ames an obvious choice, although they have stumbled a BIT recently.
  5. Great baseball name...
  6. No way Fletcher makes it. Meidroth feels unlikely unless he really outplays everyone.
  7. Except he wasn't even a great defender last year, either. At least by some of the metrics.
  8. Sosa making the team and not then playing everyday with his roster situation makes zero sense...but it's the White Sox. Th reading the needle between development and avoiding historical losses again...they might be more concerned with win totals than positioning for the #1 pick, which is beyond idiotic.
  9. Try being an Iowa fan and just wanting to get back to the Sweet 16 once since the late 90s. I know Indiana Knight 70s and 80s Natty's...movie Hoosiers used to be all-time Top 3-5 program and the spiritual home of basketball in the US etc. We did somehow luck upon the Murray Brothers and Luka Garza but the future is all NIL for the women's program right now. What interest there was remaining inmen's, Captain Clark s iPhone off half of it. Can't even think of even one promising coach to replace the over paid Fran McCaffrey.
  10. To add to the excitement lol...since everytime one looks up at 2025 it's simply maddening to draft tenth.
  11. If anyone is to blame for what some view as a Dodgers “spending problem,” it’s the other 29 MLB teams. There were more than enough free agents to go around in this winter’s cycle. Just about any team could have signed one or two of Snell, Conforto, Hernández, Yates, Kim or Scott, and a few teams doing so could’ve prevented L.A. from reaching such a stratospheric level of spending. Simply put, other teams signing free agents means those free agents can’t join the Dodgers and help them get even better. ..... Could the other teams in baseball have done more to prevent them from getting stronger? Absolutely. Should they have beaten the Dodgers last year when they had the chance? Probably. https://sports.yahoo.com/the-dodgers-are-going-to-be-even-better-this-year--and-the-other-29-mlb-teams-have-only-themselves-to-blame-171842188.html
  12. "Baseball has a problem, but the problem isn’t about salary caps or even floors like many will point to. No, after MLB earned record revenues of $12 billion last year, it shouldn’t seem like free-agent contracts are being suppressed outside of the top 1% of players. Yet those increased earnings don’t seem to be translating to the players helping create them. Which brings us back to the CBA and the tenuous dynamic between MLB owners and the players’ association. This issue and the factors that contribute to it will likely become part of the next CBA negotiations." https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb-free-agency-2024-25-top-50-players-available-this-winter-starting-with-juan-soto-and-roki-sasaki-035649579.html
  13. "Best" hitters remaining on the market: JD Martinez and Justin Turner (40)...and then there were ten, eleven if you count Andrew Vaughn. We can probably add Brendan Rodgers ex Rockies SS to get a "Dirty Dozen." Preferred him to Rojas...tbh. "Mark Canha, Yuli Gurriel, Miguel Sanó, Anthony Rizzo, Rowdy Tellez and others are also on the market with limited earning power. On the trade market, Spencer Torkelson doesn’t have an amazing path to playing time in Detroit and is still in his pre-arbitration years. LaMonte Wade Jr. is only making $5MM this year and could perhaps be pried away from the Giants. Starling Marte is going to make $19.5MM this year but the Mets are reportedly willing to pay down his salary in order to facilitate a deal." mlbtraderumors.com
  14. "In one non-injury related camp note, Boone said this week that the Yankees will get Ben Rice catching reps during the spring (relayed by Hoch). A bat-first player, Rice played almost exclusively first base during his 50-game rookie season. He started 31 games behind the dish in the minors last season. Rice has nearly 1000 career minor league innings as a catcher, though most scouting reports question whether he can stick." mlbtraderumors.com couple Big Ben Rice fans here
  15. The A's are closing in on the Sox. Severino at $67 million and Rooker at $60 million this offseason. The Sox eventually will be the only franchise left after Pitt/Reynolds passed that mark.

  17. "In the White Sox’s case, they don’t have an heir apparent for Vaughn, but they do have Miguel Vargas and Bryan Ramos trying to get plate appearances at the same position, Lenyn Sosa coming off a .374/.398/.566 performance in September before heading to Venezuela for winter ball, and a Tim Elko who hasn’t yet removed himself from the running in Charlotte. Individually, none of those options are terribly exciting, but there’s also the possibility that they add help from the outside, be it in a trade or free agency." https://soxmachine.com/2024/10/andrew-vaughn-at-center-of-white-soxs-non-tender-debate/

Robert still 33rd in bat speed...Jo Adell really stands out here among the top group. Pham Sheets DeJong with good numbers...L.Sosa the highest ranked of the remaining players on the team.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/news/orioles-outfielders-among-top-bat-speed-gainers Paul DeJong one of the top gainers for bat speed last year...

  21. Did they hang up on Getz immediately or just curtly reply "no way!"?
  22. "Gallo, Dominic Fletcher and former highly-regarded prospect Oscar Colás could compete for reps in camp." mlbtraderumors.com Hahaha...
