  1. In what world is Dirk not thought of as a big man? The guy is 7 foot tall and has made a living in the post; even if it's an extended post.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 12:42 AM) I should point out that I think very lowly of the Knicks and the Magic as I believe Howard will check out (tonight's foul-o-rama aside) while the Nuggets and Trail Blazers are built like the Bulls; deep team, just they have no superstar. The same thing can be said about the 76ers.

    QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) E-Reader proliferation maybe? That's what I was thinking too. I've had a kindle for a little over a year now and I really like it.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 11:10 PM) LMAO@any of those teams being on the level of the Lakers. And where's Dallas, you know, the defending champion? Bynum will be hurt. The Lakers are in the same boat as the Celtics in my eyes. Yes, Kobe is still awesome but he has no help past Gasol if Bynum goes down(which he always does).
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 11:10 PM) LMAO@any of those teams being on the level of the Lakers. And where's Dallas, you know, the defending champion? I have Dallas above those teams.
  6. Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, and New York are all on the same level as Portland, Denver, LAC, LAL and SAS if you ask me. This has nothing to do with the Bulls. You're crazy if you think the West is more than a hair stronger than the East. Sure the East has the worst teams, but who gives a s*** about the bottom feeders, the East have the two best teams as well.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) west > east And it's not really all that close. The strength of a conference overall is determined by the 5-10 spots. Put anyone of the Spurs, Nuggets, Blazers or Clippers in the east and their win total exponentially rises. I think the strength is determined at the top. Which the West seriously lacks besides OKC.
  8. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) I'm about 900 hours into Skyrim and I keep getting more quests. Does this game ever end? I'm about 2 hours in. Just got my Xbox back from repair last night.
  9. The poor Timberwolves have a positive point differential with a record of 3-7.

    QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) Downloaded Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Saw the ads for the movie for the first time in New York and it's been stuck in my head since. I saw the previews on Christmas and my cousin told me it was a good read so I went home and downloaded it as well. Hopefully I get to it eventually.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 07:19 AM) Gibson has been terrible. I agree he's like boozer in that he settles for only jumpers, but at least boozer makes them. I agree. I have become increasingly frustrated at our front line. I love Gibson and Asik's D but hate Gibson's shot selection and Omer's hands. Boozer has grown on me a bit lately and Noah seems to have regressed both offensively and defensively. Still love Luol obviously.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) I was being nice, Ive never been a Boozer fan and Id have traded Noah multiple times by now. Yeah, Noah would be long gone if I was the GM. I'm sick of watching him.

    Also has anyone here read "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss? If you are a fan of fantasy it is one of my favorites and would highly recommend it.

    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) I've been reading a lot more since I bought my Nook Tablet. Mainly, because it's super easy to download books for free for Kindle and Nook. Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline, was an absolute blast to read. Anyone who enjoyed Ender's Game would absolutely adore that book. I just started the new Stephen King last night and am geeking out over it. The first 100 pages flew by and I cannot wait to finish that quickly. I will probably have to read Ready Player One after I finish the new Stephen King myself. I'm a huge fan of Ender's game.
  15. I turned this game on after the Bulls game and these announcers are the worst. This is the first college football game I've watched all season and I'm already sick of the nickname honey badger.

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) I've got about 40 pages left to read, but I pretty much know how it ends because I'm a sucker for spoilers. At 800+ pages it's one of his longer books but I've really enjoyed it. I've heard people complain that the middle part gets boring but it technically "starts" in 1958 and 5 years is a lot of time to cover. I can also see the reason he made the time span so long. I keep thinking of Back to the Future when I read it but even thinking of the time that's passed from when those movies were made until now is amazing. Marty McFly never missed not having a cell phone or the internet when he time travelled. I've also heard that it's one of his best endings and after I read it for myself, I think I will agree. Ditto Thanks for the input on King's new book. I think maybe I'll make that my new read since I've had it on my Kindle since it came out but haven't started it yet.

    QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) I'm halfway through book three and have been for about 2 months. He decided to focus on characters and storylines I just don't care for. I find myself always skimming ahead to see how much more I have to get through to get to a section I care about. 'Ugh, 60 more pages until more Tyrion....maybe tomorrow." The second half of book three is my favorite of the entire series. Book 4 and 5 took me forever to get through. I'm still intrigued enough where I'm going to finish the series but a lot of those last two books felt like a chore.

    Does anyone have any reading goals for the year? Last year I set a goal to read 60 books and finished with 64. This year I'm just going to read without a goal and see how many I tally up.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 7, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) Who'ja lose to? Oh.... Even when SIU is terrible they give me reason to hate them.
